[ Of course, with all the good that's happened in her life so far, there's also been a considerable amount of bad things that have happened. Often when those moments occurred, she found solace in her faith the most. When Sertoria found a church, she was more than delighted to see what it had to offer. In truth, she always felt somewhat at home in a church than any other place in the world. Fancy that, hm?

As she walked inside, her form felt warmth, acceptance -- as if an old friend was here with her. Her footsteps echoed the otherwise quiet hallway, eyes observing the rows of pews before she ended at the altar. There's a small smile given to the cross that hangs on the wall, her form kneeling down with her hands clasped in front of her.

Maybe to some people it's silly or unnecessary to pray, but to her she feels like maybe it might help at least something. Those around are certainly free to notice her or perhaps join in with her session. ]

[ The moment that Sertoria returns home from her praying session, she looks like a huge weight's been lifted off of her shoulders. She waves to anyone who greets her, offering them a smile before walking over to the kitchen. She knows she has to get started on dinner and she doesn't mind one bit. In fact, it's because of them that she's felt accepted, even though she's not entirely human.

...Perhaps she can even call them her second family at this point, too. Everything feels like it's falling into place and she's just utterly delighted at this point. ]

We have had our equal share of good and bad happen here, so what do you do to keep moving forward? Do you meditate? Do you pray? As for me, I pray for a better tomorrow for not just myself, but for my friends and family both here and at home.

I am merely curious since we all deal with things differently. [ And it might be a good idea to organize something so as to help those out who are on the brink of despair. ]

Jaune it is, then. My apologies, I tend to be a bit too formal for my own good sometimes. [ There's a light laugh at the end of that with a small shake of the head. ]

I was merely wondering if you were up for a friendly spar whenever you are available. I train together with Mikasa, so I am familiar with what she is capable of should anything happen. However, I am not familiar with what skills you possess and neither are you with mine. This way, if something does occur, we know what we are capable of and can work as a team.

We can fight. Where and when do you want to do this?

One item on Ted's bucket list was to visit every Christian church in Genessia at least once. He found more comfort in the faith than the discomfort he found in the seemingly vanishing numbers of the faithful. Ted was often disappointed on Sundays to find no fellow believers. Few that wore the amulets signifying them as "real", anyway. He'd met Ronan, but he seemed the typical lapsed Catholic, whose religion was merely another department of life, meaning as little. Sometimes, in his darker moments, Ted wondered whether Genessia wasn't a world that had fallen too far, beyond the bounds of God's notice or aid.

Ted delighted to find, by all appearances, a sister of The Way. Churches were one of the few places that, outside of hymns, moved him to silence. Feeling friendly, he knelt down beside her, silently praying the same prayer he always did.

Truthfully, it was always nice to be able to find any kinds of comfort from home to make the ache lessen that much more. That was one of the many reasons why Sertoria found solace knowing that there was yet another familiar piece of home here. She often wondered herself if God or Jesus was looking out for them here, and if so, what would they say about the struggles they were going through here?

It doesn't take her long to notice another person by her side, however instead of interrupting her prayer, she continued on. Her smile widened that much more, however, knowing that there was someone else here with her.

One of the things Jesus most definitely said were to keep prayers short and sweet, so Ted would be the first to retire to the pews. He'd wait a while for Sertoria to wrap up before breaking the ice.

"You're a fellow believer too, I take it?"

[As Sertoria kneels to pray, she might notice someone in the pews, dressed in a full habit and kneeling in prayer of her own. She is speaking in some unfamiliar language, a pattern borne of memory. The only phrases completely clear are references to the 'Sanct Kaiser'.

... Sein eventally opens one eye, glancing towards Sertoria.]

[ The language is what the angel picks up on first, although she's curious as to what tongue it is. Who is this 'Sanct Kaiser' though?

Her eyes open as well and she offers Sein a smile, nodding to her. ]

To pray, huh. For one like me, that seems rather crazy. No god where I am from would sanely accept me.

Better to look to the things I can enjoy in this world.

Why is that? I am rather curious, if you do not mind my asking.

My soul is already claimed. I head back home, it returns to it's rightful owner. So no god benefits from my worship, thus I get called 'abomination' and crap and they try to kill me on sight. Key word being 'try'.

some would say the other option is to lay down and give up. if you ask me, that isn't even a choice at all. it's BECAUSE bad things happen that we need to move forward, because nothing gets solved by living in the past.

so i guess to answer your question, wanting to make tomorrow better than today, even if it's a thousand tomorrows away.

I'm glad. There is always more if you want. I've been finding more and more books since I arrived.

I... can't really say how I deal with it. Since for me it depends on what it was to how long it would take me.

But I find reading a good book helps me a little bit for the more similar things to get over. For much harsher things, it's just time that works.

Maybe bad things happen, but the only way to keep moving forward is to keep pushing myself. If I stand still, that's just guaranteeing that the next time someone wants to come along and throw something bad in my face that there's already someone at that level who's done it. I move forward by pushing myself to be better than I am today.

Moving along quickly is a rather important part of my work.

Still... depending on what it is I find venting my frustration in battle helps.
