Warnings: Usual warnings for any Titan/RWBY spoilers.

[Being around Everglade during the night wasn't a problem for Reiner. It was easy for him to defend himself for possible monsters when he had his gear and the blade with it with him. Perhaps if he had been a "Soldier" he might have been a little scared, but the Warrior in him didn't feel uncomfortable around the place.

It was a good place and time to actually to use his transformation. There weren't very many people around and there wasn't even much that could break down. There was even enough room for his spectators to actually stay away so they wouldn't get caught in the transformation itself.

Now all he needed to do was to wait for the other party to arrive. If they didn't, he would be disappointed, but it wouldn't be the end of the world exactly.]

[ It's not much later than their agreed-upon time that Mercury shows up - he'd volunteered to arrive first, on the off-chance that this was some kind of sting. If he needed to run, he was more than quick enough to get the hell out of there. If he needed to fight, well, he was always ready and willing for that.

But! Time would tell if that was necessary.

For now he shows up, hands in his pockets as he strolls into view with a thoughtful hum. This is the first time he's actually seen Reiner - the man had spoken to him only through audio communications until now, and upon seeing him...

Weirdly enough, he more or less looked like how Mercury imagined he would. ]

I take it you're Reiner?

[Yeah, Reiner could have started working for the good guys and just transform on top of Mercury - now wouldn't that be a fun plot twist? Except no, that was really unlikely. Not that Reiner could blame for being careful. Meeting someone who's been marked as a murdered was always kinda risky - even if he'd be meeting another murderer.

Still, he kept his blades away as he turned to look at Mercury. There's no implication that he's about to attack him, even if he is on his guard just in case.]

Yeah. [Reiner's seen Mercury's face, obviously, so he doesn't need to ask.] Did you come alone or are you just being a scout?

[ That he isn't going to answer because he's a little shit. Cinder and Emerald will come out when they decide it seems safe enough, he figures. Until then he'll just take center stage.

No big deal. ]

Would it be a problem if I did have friends?

[Of course he wouldn't answer. He doesn't seem the honest type, to be honest.]

Not really. I doubt your friends would be too different from you.

[In terms of being on the "bad" or "good" side, that is.]

Which of us should go first, then?

Probably easier if I do.

[ He doesn't do anything, just... stands there for a few intentionally awkward moments. ]

Oh! Right. Hit me.

[Seriously? Well, he certainly is an odd one. Then again, huggy heart...

Though he does deliver a punch when asked.]

[ The blow rocks him back on his heels a bit, but overall he seems... unfazed. ]

Okay, just to be clear - hit me and really mean it.

[ It hurt, obviously, but there is a point he's making here. ]

... well, if it's like that.

[If it's like that, he might as well put all his strength into this next punch - and he does have quite a lot of strength.]

[ He doesn't make any move to block or dodge - he even lifts his hands out to the sides as if inviting it, letting his weight fall back so the blow actually knocks him clean to the ground.

And yet a second later he's springing right back up, tapping the cheek that was just struck. ]

You can whack me with a few more of those, but you won't even leave a bruise. That's perk number one of aura.

[Sure enough, there's no sign of Reiner punching him at all. Well, then.]

That's convenient, at least. Better than having actually get injured and then healing yourself, at least.

[If only he could use his armor with his human form he wouldn't get injured that much. Alas.]

Oh, that's perk two! Any damage that does manage to get through someone's aura will heal itself pretty quick, as long as you've still got some aura left. It's a finite resource. Once it's out, we're just as susceptible as the normies around here.

Does it depend on a person on how long the aura lasts?

[ A standard greeting for Emerald. She held out his walletor pouch or money clip or whatever he has as if she'd picked it up and was being the friendliest person in the world. Mercury had apparently told this guy a lot, but she was sure it didn't include what her semblance was- the ability to make someone see and hear, or not, whatever she wanted by manipulating their mind. She didn't have any intention of telling him that was hers either, at least not unless she came to trust him (fat chance- the number of people she trusted in this world amounted to two). Either way, it hadn't taken more than just walking up and taking his wallet from him in plain sight to get it- well, to everyone but him.

The first Reiner would see was Emerald standing behind him. The friendly smile on her lips as she held out his wallet was disarming and that wasn't part of her semblance. She was just a good actress on top of that, when she wanted to be. ]

Aren't you that guy Mercury was talking about?

[The first reaction for him is to check his pockets. True enough, the money clip wasn't there anymore. When the heck did he drop that? Well, at least it didn't disappear completely.]

Thanks. [He accepts the clip, still confused on how he let that happen, but also sounding grateful since she returned it.]

Yeah. I'm Reiner Braun.

[unhappy]

[ Emerald thinks he's either gullible or suspects himself nonobservant if he really sounds grateful, but she won't discount him for it. It isn't like most people could see her coming if she didn't want them to. ]

Emerald Sustrai. I'm his partner.

Titan-time

[Once Cinder and Emerald have also both made an appearance, it's finally time for Reiner to make his part of the show. Of course, he needed to keep his distance, because of reasons that would soon be apparent.

It's not really anything interesting to watch, the beginning. Reiner just raises his hand up and bites himself. It's after that when the thing gets interesting.

There's a huge lightning bolt from the sky and a shock wave hits the ground, sending everything that can be moved flying around. Then a huge body starts forming and rises up to its full length with Reiner riding on the back, eventually going inside the titan, not to be seen.

By the end of it, the figure stands in all of its glory.]
