It's the pancake hour
Who: Lie Ren & anyone in/visiting the Remnant House
Where: Remnant House, Nova City
When: April 2nd
What: Nora's gone. Ren is trying to cope by making (too many) pancakes.
Warnings: None for now.
[Ren wasn't sure how to deal with this kind of separation. This was the first time Nora had actually left his side for this long. She had gone back to their world. She wasn't here. His room suddenly felt very empty without her and it was driving him nuts. Especially when he didn't have work today.
So what was he doing? He had taken over the kitchen and he was making pancakes.
Chocolate, Banana, Blueberry - even coffee and melon flavored pancakes. He was just making anything he might come up with and offering them to anyone walking by the kitchen and eating none himself. He just focused on cooking.
Someone should probably either eat a lot of pancakes or make him stop.]

She stopped in the doorway when she reached her destination.]
That's....a lot of pancakes. Are we having guests for dinner?

I do not think so. [They really are rather green, the pancakes. Hopefully they'll taste alright.]

[Blake looks alarmed as she observes a batch that's turning a color that pancakes should never be. She takes what looks like a chocolate and pumpkin one. At least, she really hopes that's what it is and decides that it may as well be her dinner. Since he made so many and all.
She watches him for a moment over her glass of milk trying to decide whether she should pry or not.]

[He says this as he mixes the ingredients. Of course, he's never tired making spinach or carrot pancakes before... but it can't turn all bad? Especially since they won't be sweet pancakes.]
If you are unsure, there are fresh regular pancakes over there.

Ren...what's wrong? [Cutting straight to chase. She doesn't know Ren well and he doesn't really talk much, but it is rare to see him unfocused.]

People that I've met here say they remember me even though I don't remember anything...there's a chance it might be temporary. [It's a tiny thread of encouragement, but nonetheless it is possible.]
Do you need any help? [She's not good at comforting people like Yang. Blake is only good at dealing with what's in front of her. She can't make his partner reappear, but she can help him with his mountain of pancakes until whatever he's feeling burns itself out.

Ren's not the talkative type to begin with, but he can try to distract him while he also gets rid of some of those pancakes. Seriously that's a lot of pancakes. He chooses a melon flavored one first.]
We should go do something later. When you're finished making enough pancakes to...make a pancake fighting robot out of.

I would hope these get either eaten or stored, rather than be used in a fight.
[Their refrigerator would be full.]
What do you suggest?

We'll be having pancakes for dinner for a month if you keep this up.

[That or he could always go give them to random citizens in Nova if there was too much. He just wanted to keep making them...]

I'm going to freeze some of these for later, Ren.
[ Emergency pancake stock. ]

That would be great.

Ren.. I wasn't going to say anything, but those are beans.

[He's been reading cook books on his free time.]

[ Weiss is definitely more open to trying new things after being in Genessia for so long, but no one's brought up red beans to her before. ]

[It's called experimenting.]

[ Weiss is more of a research and develop kind of girl than a blind experiments girl. ]
