First Castle [Action] + [Video]
[ACTION: at The Bay]
[Waking up in a cushy box is one thing that Nora can get over. Having new, shiny things given to her upon waking up from said box is another thing she can get over. But not seeing anyone she recognized is unnerving. Obviously, this isn't Beacon, or Vale, or anywhere. Everyone is too cheerful given all the events that went down.
Now, seeing the hologram of Weiss...that's one thing she can't get over. Even after it finishes its speech, Nora just stares at it skeptically.]
...she's not that tall! [That was the most important part of that whole transmission, according to Nora.] Just...what is even going on?!
[Nora is on screen, holding up the pamphlet that was in the pile of stuff from earlier.]
So I got this pamphlet, which is nice and simply to understand, but lacks directions on how to leave. [Tosses it behind her and it drops onto the floor. She'll pick it up later.] But that too-tall-Weiss image says that we can't leave anyway, and that it's safe.
[She's eyeing all the people walking by. After everything that's happened, how could she trust any new place to be safe?]
So far, I guess she's right.
Anyway! If anyone recognizes me, give me a shout! If you don't then...um...well, you don't! [Didn't think that far ahead, oops.] But that can be fixed with a simple hello! And a name. And one favorite food you like!
[There, that should do it! With one small finger salute, Nora turns off the video for now.]

But as for the people - sure there are! There are a lot them in my guild, and I know some nice people. But you have to be careful, because there are some people who'll try to trick you all the same.
[ Vlad comes to mind. Although Nora being through what she has been/will be, probably knows that just as well! ]
Hee - well not PLAIN yogurt, no. I like the fruit kinds, with bits of granola. Actually I've been learning and enjoying a lot of spicy recipes lately, since my partner loves spicy stuff.
[ Video ]
Don't worry, I'm pretty familiar with people that aren't what they seem. [Too familiar.] I'll be careful.
Are you any good at sweets recipes?
[ Video ]
Well, I haven't seen any monsters raining from the sky -- yet -- unless you count someone summoning monsters from outside of town in the middle of the night, to attack civilians. And there are plenty of giant dragons, but most of them aren't aggressive. There was one my partner knocked out a few weeks ago when we were investigating a ruin.
[ And then there were those..weird..flying raptors she saw that night the house exploded. ]
There was a bounty I think...last month? Where some androids went rogue or something, so that counts, I guess.
STILL, I'm glad you'll be careful, at least! I wouldn't want someone to try and take advantage of people who are new arrivals, because they don't know what's going on.
Sweets? In general, or do you mean something specific? Well, either way, I'd like to think I'm pretty good at it. I made a small strawberry cake for one of my guildmates not too long ago.
[ Video ]
Home, sweet home. Now I just gotta find a table and chair so I can sit and kick back my feet! [Dealing with something familiar in an unfamiliar world is something she can handle. Makes things easier, actually!]
Yeah, I meant in general! If no one complained about your cooking, then you're pretty good at it! That's my motto! No complaints, no worries!
[It's not her motto at all.]
[ Video ]
A-ahah, you're taking that pretty well!
[ That was good! It was better than them feeling culture shock or something. ]
Hee! Well in that case, sure I'm pretty good at it. How about you?
[ Video ]
[Oh, her cooking was brought up...]
Like I said, no complaints, no worries!
[Not like Ren would verbally complain about her cooking. He's a quiet type of guy. Sure, she can read his body language, but...he probably wouldn't say her cooking sucks outright.]
[ Video ]
[ Oh, equally confident about food making! Good. ]
Heeh, maybe we should trade recipes sometime!
[ Video ]
[She doesn't seem like she's from Vale.]
Oh, yeah! That sounds like a great idea! [Mental note: get recipes from Ren!] Gotta keep things interesting, right?!
Re: [ Video ]
Me? I'm from Magnolia. It's a town in Fiore. [ She's quick to smile as always at the agreement. ]
You said it. And if you're ever in Fayren, you can stop by the guild - though if you *do* go to Fayren, be careful, because right now one of those bad things is anti magic cult - and they've caused a lot of harm already. Though they consider any supernatural ability "magic" it seems.
[ The Guardian and her deputy being almost totally ineffective, it was disgusting. ]
But our guild is before the town so you'd come across Fairy Tail first.
[ Video ]
Anti-magic cult? Never thought I'd hear that. What are they doing, exactly?
[Nora had her own abilities, but she isn't sure she'd consider them supernatural. Most people had auras and semblances.]
...Fairy Tail? It's real though, right? [Totally not a fairy tail?]
[ Video ]
Well... so far, they've been kidnapping and murdering mages, stating magic is evil and unnatural, threatening other mages with death via some kind of poison that somehow is tailored to target anyone with an ability if they don't get out of Fayren...
We're harboring a large number of mages and non-mages at our guild, and we've been able to keep all of them safe so far. [ Unlike the Guardian and Deputy. But as far as abilities...eeh, it's a gray area. Hands of Decay seem to hate anyone who has a special gift like that. ]
[ Lucy giggles at the question. ]
Not that kind of fairy tale. It's T-A-I-L. Our guild was founded by the First Master on the eternal mystery of whether fairies have tails, and it's built around the bonds between its guild members - many of us are like family. Not that the point of our guild is to find fairies or anything - we take on jobs to protect people and cull monsters. Things like that. I've lost count how many times we've had to fight against Dark Guilds to stop them and their world destroying plans.
Still, even if we had our question answered, it wouldn't stop us from moving forward on new and greater adventures.
[ Video ]
And who whizzed in their Pumpkin Pete's?! [This anti-mage cult sounded like bad business!] Do you guys need any extra help protecting these mages? They sound like they could use a good pounding into the floor.
[At hearing the description, Nora had only one more question.]
So do fairies have tails?
[ Video ]
How? I .. think it's always been that way. [ Maybe? She grinned at that ..colorful choice of wording. Oh man she hadn't giggled like that in days since the last incident. ]
I don't know what their issue really is. They're just lumping mages into one group - I won't lie, there ARE bad mages that make their accusations valid, but there are more that aren't.
[ Ooh, her smile brightens at the offer. ]
We won't say no to extra help. If you stop by Fairy Tail -- ah, Fairy Haven -- in Fayren we can catch you up on things, sometime. Er.. what was your name?
[ Slight pause, and she grins. ]
I don't know - we haven't found any fairies yet. I hope we don't, really. The eternal mystery is what makes life interesting.
[ Video ]
[Settling in may take some time, though.]
Well, don't expect telling everyone the history without getting asked that question! [Nora smirks lightly at the other.]
[ Video ]
[ She laughs. ] Well, I thought it best to tell you the history first, that way I wouldn't have to get a 'Why is it called that' question. I don't mind people asking if fairies have tails.
