Waking
[Watery blue eyes peek beneath thick dark lashes as Crystal rouses within the strange pod. She isn’t familiar with hangovers however there have been rare occasions where she’s been drugged. She remembers bidding her neighbor goodnight and leaving for the evening when she unexpectedly arrived here. Her dress is untarnished. Her shoes, jewelry and shawl are the same as when she left the house. It’s odd that nothing is stolen or misplaced and that her captors have yet to introduce themselves.
She slowly rises into a sitting position, her heels dipping into the water while long slender legs stretch from their static position. She lifts her purse to her lap as well as the odd little box that is resting in the pod with her. First she opens her purse. The golden clasp clicks, echoing within the cave as she fetches a small pocket mirror. She inspects her face, her make-up untouched and her bright blond hair curled just as she remembered. There are no marks on her skin, nothing implying a force or harsh treatment.
Slipping her pocket mirror into her purse she begins to look through the peculiar chest that she found next to her. She quickly realizes that it is meant for her which isn’t a comforting thought. She decides she dislikes the provided necklace and slips it into her purse with no intention of ever wearing it. She reads through each piece of information carefully, her brow creasing as the situation grows more complicated.]
Action; Any City – Early Morning
[It’s evident that she isn’t in New York anymore and so she quickly moves passed that glaring fact and inspects the information she does know.
Crystal isn’t ready to rule out any possibilities; she wants to learn more about her new gilded prison. With the items she’s deemed important stashed in her purse she steps across the turning water and out of the bay. The hologram makes her pause, a thin eyebrow rising at its explanation before she continues onward.
A light smile plays across her lips as confidence radiates from her countenance, like a perfect mask her expression mixes both truths and lies. It won’t be hard to pin her as someone new though she isn’t acting like a gawking tourist or lost soul. When she steps it’s as if she knows exactly where she’s going. She doesn’t care about those who gawk at her height, beauty or very short dress.
She steps into a few curious shops, her gaze examining their wares even if she isn’t interested in purchasing them.]
Excuse me. [Crystal asks in a friendly tone.] Is this your establishment?
Action; Nova City – Early Evening
[After exploring each city Crystal finds that she enjoys Nova City the most. There are classier establishments, cleaner streets and while some of the futurist technology is beyond her knowledge it isn’t beyond her understanding. She can be found eyeing apartments as well as the general area with the same air of someone who moves with assurance.
She decides to look for bars or clubs that might prove to be interesting. It’s only the start of the night and she doubts that any establishment has yet to truly open. It will, however, give her an understanding of this place which is her intent as she moves through the cities.
If she catches your eye she’ll smile, her expression confident and inviting.]
Action; Everglade – Early Night
[Everglade is the last stop on her trip and she quickly finds that she doesn’t care for the mist covered city. There is nothing pertaining to the curfew in the provided information, leaving Crystal unaware as she steps into the city proper. Night is when Crystal is accustomed to working. She’s always been comfortable beneath the lingering light of the moon, even walking down desolate streets like these.
It doesn’t take her long to sense that something is wrong, the sun wanes and a gloomy atmosphere grips the town. She turns to leave however the sweet scent of lilacs drifting from her skin calls forth a hungry predator who quickly blocks her escape. Her mask remains in place, her lips positioned in a careful smile while her gaze locks onto the approaching figure. She moves briskly however the shadow is much faster than her, catching her by the wrist and throwing her against a nearby wall.
Her eyes level a glare at the stranger: his skin is a sickly pale, his eyes sunken in with black irises staring hungrily at her, his clothes hang on his bony form, tattered and torn from wear.]
That isn’t anyway to say hello.
[Crystal replies in an even voice, her wrist already working its way out of the dead mans grip.]
Voice; April 19th
[A melodious voice echoes over the network.]
It looks like I should have asked for assistance earlier, in the end I see little point of the provided information with so much lacking. [The light and silky voice sounds like it’s smiling.]
Now that I’ve learned my way around I wanted to say hello. Perhaps get to know my fellow martyrs.

Now that I’ve learned my way around I wanted to say hello. Perhaps get to know my fellow martyrs.

action; nova city
I'll have a diamond martini please and I'll take my drink at the gentlemen's table.
[With that she stands, her purse lightly bouncing on her hips as she steps over towards her secret admirer. Each movement is elegant and alluring. She stops next to Balthiers table.]
Can I take your offer as an invitation to join you?
[Her voice is a smooth as honey, her eyes sparking with humor as she studies him.]
action; nova city
There does happen to be another seat at this table, though, from the look of you, I'll say you're welcome to come and go as you please.
action; nova city
You have a keen eye.
[The waitress arrives at their table with Crystal’s drink. Clear liquid swirls in the martini glass which has been frosted by ice along the outside of the glass. A small twist of lemon floats in the liquid adding a light splash of yellow to the drink. She brings it to her lips taking a small sip before placing the drink lightly in front of her.]
Do you have a name or will our meeting be shrouded in mystery?
[Her tone is light and teasing, her posture perfect but also relaxed as she urged the conversation forward.]
action; nova city
I do. [He pauses for a moment, just for dramatic effect, taking a sip from his wine glass.] It's Balthier. And what might yours be?
action; nova city
[Her fingertip lightly glides along the rim of her glass as she spoke.]
Balthier is a unique name. Where are you from?
action; nova city
Wherever I choose. And you?
action; nova city
And you're choice tonight?
[She'll answer his question later.]
action; nova city
I come from a land called Ivalice.
action; nova city
[She smiles at the thought.]
I am from New York City. [There are other names and such but she finds that New York is her home.] We have the evening, would you tell me more about Ivalice?
[Crystal's voice is light, her words inquisitive but not overly so.]
action; nova city
Ivalice is unlike any of the cities that comprise Genessia, but also akin to several. There are homey little hamlets, much like Attleton. There are towering metropolises full of advanced technology, like Nova City. There are sprawling mega-centers like that of Genessia City, and Quaint wilds like Fayren. There are even more sinister towns like what is to be found through the Everglade gate.
action; nova city
Sounds enchanting.
[Her smile remains in place as she attempts to explain New York. How to romanticize a city that towers over the broken with the privileged at the top and the damned wrestling beneath them.]
New York City is similar to Genessia in its construction. It's known as the city that never sleeps and is beautiful at night. There are culture centers with theater and plays, grand parties for dignitaries visiting from other countries as well as a collection of the most diverse food in the country. It's where cultures collide and thrive in their own unique way.
[The history behind the city has always fascinated her.]
action; nova city
It sounds like quite a place to visit.
action; nova city
[She brings her drink to her lips taking another small sip before continuing.]
There are equally impressive cities in the world. [She continues the conversation easily.] I've always wanted to travel and see more of it.
action; nova city
action; nova city
[She repeats with a smile.]
You sound like you're well traveled.
action; nova city
I've spent the last 6 years traveling the world.
action; nova city
[Crystal leans forward slightly.]
Care to share?
action; nova city
Shall I tell you how my partner and I very nearly stole the Dusk shard from beneath the collective noses of the ruling nobles of Rabanastre and the royal guard?
action; nova city
[She laughs softly bringing her drink up to her lips for another small sip.]
action; nova city
action; nova city
Oh? I wonder how the story unfolds? With such a handsome leading man, it's sure to be something spectacular.
action; nova city
[And he leans back, settling in for a good story.] It's all embroiled with intrigue and politics, and it may be necessary to understand the political environment before I continue. I trust you won't find that boring?
action; nova city
I don't think there is anything you can say that I might find boring.
[She enjoys learning about histories, politics and other places. Though she hardly lets such information about herself become common knowledge.]
action; nova city
[Politics bores him, primarily, but understanding it might lead to understand the rest of the story he's going to tell her.]
The Empires of Rosaria and Arcadia, each comprising areas in the West and East respectively of the continent of Ivalice, have been at war over resources for nearly twenty years. Over the years, minor kingdoms and principalities have been consumed by one or the other as they each attempt to close the distance, as it were. Does that make sense, at least?
action; nova city
Yes.
[Sadly it's very common.]
So where do you fall into this?
