Fayren Unearthed Pt3 [Open]

Who: Open.
When: April 24th - May 8th.
What: Exploring old ruins!
Where: Sea Ruins in Fayren
Warnings: None at the moment

The boat leading to the ruins stops just above a glowing light. This is the drop off point for anyone that wants to go into the ruins. You will get wet, though. There is no avoiding that. An anchor is dropped for anyone that wants to go down. The loops are big enough that it can be used as a makeshift ladder, should anyone want to use it for those purpose.

It’s necessary to hold your breath unless you have other means of making it so you don’t run out of oxgen as you decend into the water. A large dome shaped bubble can be seen, though what’s inside of it can’t be made out. It’s shimmery and wavy , clearly the magical enchantment was crafted with the thought of also including some sort of veil in mind.

The Trawler Ruins is one of the more unique ruins to be discovered in Fayren. Coming into the bubble, you find yourself standing in what looks to be the ruins of a city. The place seems to have its own atmposhere. The air is fresh and clean and gravity effects you as if you weren't actually underwater. Though looking back the way you just came, you can clearly see the ocean behind you.

It’s not really possible to tell how old it is, but it looks older than most things you find in Fayren. At the far end of the city is a temple. The temple houses 4 different floors in it, all of which haven’t been explored as of yet.

What happened to the people of the city, no one will ever know. There are no bodies left behind by them, no bones to be seen. Just structures. There is still a lot to be looted, though. If that’s your purpose for being here, you won’t be disappointed in what you find. At least if you manage to stumble across something pricey.

There are monsters lingering around just the city, but there aren't too many of them. Water Archons and Siege Crabs mostly. There may be the occasional Dragon Eel as well.

On the first level of the temple, you will find more Water Archons and Siege Crabs as well as Mephits.

You will find all of them on the second level as well, with the addition of Sahuagins and Chuuls.

The third level, you will find all of the monsters above with the addition of Water Weirds and Kopru.

The fourth floor leads into a large, expansive underwater cavern that branches into different paths. Here you will find all of the monsters above, with Dragon Eels being more abundant and the addition of Ixitxachitl.

There may be 4 or 5 and they will be first come first serve. Maybe keep the character to limit to 2 maybe 3.

[Sun feels very pirate like being a boat. The fact that he bought a pirate hat to wear while he rode the boat probably helped that, but whatever. It was a two hour trip and he had to make his own fun. At least he hadn't defaulted to doing pirate speak.]

I wonder if I could actually find some doubloons at this place.. [He'd definitely start speaking like a pirate if he did. Talks of booty and such. Because what pirate didn't like booty?]

[Levy spends those two hours on deck with her arms resting on the railing. She's used to long boat rides, it's one of the more common ways to cross the sea in Earth-land. She smiles as the rolling waves crash against the hull of the ship. She hadn't brought a book, not wanting it to get damaged by the water.

All she had on her was a pen which was placed safely in the pocket of her shorts.]

It's really nice.

[She can't help but talk into the wind as it tugs at her slim frame. She really likes boat rides.]

[Levy heads forward with a determined stride while trying to slip around most of the monsters. She can easily fight them but this is their home and she doesn't want to disrupt them if she can help it. Perhaps the blue hair helps but she's able to make it to the temple without incident.

Inside she pauses, clearly in awe of the amazing temple that stretches above her. She realizes that she's just under the ocean but it feels like a completely new world. Not unlike a place she might find at home.]

[ooc: feel free to run into Levy where ever. She's looking for a library, as always.]

[Troy notices the familiar figure on the ship's upper deck while he was by the crates and barrels where he parked his armor. As he finishes his tinkering with his machine, he hears her speak. He can't help but respond and start a conversation with the woman he hasn't spoken to since Christmas]

Yeah, let's just hope it doesn't rain on us. The open sea is a fickle place.

[As soon as Levy looks his way, Troy greets her with his usual smile and an upward nod of his head]

[Levy turns her shoulders towards Troy and greets him with a smile.]

Ah, that's true but I think we're going to be getting wet anyway.

[Since the plan is to explore ruins beneath the ocean.]

The trip to the ruins was an hour into its voyage. The ship has made this trip many times today, so there wasn’t any sense that anything could go wrong. Times when you felt like that could be some of the most dangerous as the water started to grow choppy, unnaturally so. A shadow could be seen underneath the water as it swam by, causing the ship to rock heavily.

Then it seemed like it was gone. The waters calmed down and it seemed like everything was fine. Before a large creature bursts out of the water in front of the ship and let out a loud bestial roar. Who said this vessel could move through his waters?

Not everyone is cutout to adventure through a monster filled ruins. Like this guy for example. An archaeologist from Fayren. He came here to try to scrounge up some artifacts because he doesn't have the money to pay adventurers for the ones that they bring to town.

But it seemed like this trip was going to be the death of him as he's backed against a wall and surrounded by monsters baring down on him. He always thought the unhealthy food that he ate would be the death of him. But not monsters in an underwater ruin. Funny how life turns out.

Yeeeahh, it's not the getting wet part that I don't like.

[Troy tries to hide his cringe while his palms rub the side of his neck. He managed to calm his manchild side and it's urge of making a lewd joke about getting "wet", and he just takes a few steps to stand next to Levy by the ship's railing]

I came from a place where typhoons are frequent, and strong as hell. Roofs flying and cars getting shoved from the wind speed alone. So just imagining one in the open sea like this? Well it's freaky.

[Troy spoke casually. He's open about his fears and feels no shame about sharing it. What makes his phobia even stronger is that he lost his dad to one of them, although it wasn't confirmed due to the lack of a body, it would also be foolish to think his father survived that. No matter how tough he was.]

Inside of the temple, a man's body laid on the ground, a sword wound through his chest and heart. He hasn't been dead that long, maybe an hour at this point. What killed him was obvious, a sword. But who the sword was wielded by was another thing entirely. A small trial of blood was leading down the corridor.

Their could most definitely be a murderer lurking around these ruins, looking to claim another victim.

A panicked voice calls out into one of the corridors of the ruins.

"Help! Help! Anybody!" It is a young woman and she looks tired. She is leaning against a wall, panting and trying to catch her breath like she had just run a long way.

"My husband needs help!" She shouted, hoping anyone would hear.

[If Troy makes jokes like that then Levy will immediately turn scarlet and start stammering nervously.

Levy nods in understanding to Troy's worry and then glances around at the sky. Storms can move in within seconds and she isn't about to deny that there is a chance that might occur.]

That's true...

[Her voice trails off slightly before shaking her head.]

With all of us here though, I think we'll be able to do something to keep everyone safe. Even from the elements. I know that might not ease your worry.

Ted had missed part 2 of these mysterious ruins, spending his time once again tending to Everglade's unending turmoil. Now it was somebody else's problem, leaving him free to enjoy the dungeon crawls. This would be the first time he'd seen someone else in trouble within, however.

"Anybody"? Ted fits that to a T! Even Ted's oblivious ears found her plea. White knight that he is, he rushed to the distressed damsel's aid.

"If it is in my power, he shall get it. What's the nature of his peril? Where is he?"

Belle had always wanted the thrill of adventure more than anything. That feeling of getting out there and exploring the world in which she lived. Here in Fayren had been no exception at the point. Her feet touched the floor as she was walking, her fingers tracing the feeling of the walls and her sword placed firmly at her side.

However her focus had soon been drawn to someone else, someone appeared to be in trouble and Belle knew that she should help, so pulling out her sword she started to make her way over, hoping that she could at least defeat one of them and hope for help.

Troy pauses, looking up at the clouds before shifting his focus back to Levy, huffing with a smile]

What would ease my worry is if you tell me how you been. It's been a while since I saw you in person.

[Levy laughs, catching a few strands of hair that blew in front of her face and placing them behind her ear.]

I've been doing pretty good. Still helping out in Fayren and Everglade when I can.

[It's a lot of work.]

Most exciting things that happen to me involve books.

Levy wasn't far behind Belle. She had taken note of others exploring but left them to their own devices since they all seemed to have it handled. When she noticed the man under stress she when running to help as well.

Without pauses she flicked her wrist in the air, the words Air appearing and then slamming into one of the monsters.

"Pick on someone your own size."

Oh yeah? What kind of help exactly? I know it probably involve the Hands of Decay. Those guys sound like a pain in the ass.

[The Hands of Decay, he never had the chance to cross them yet. But as little as he shows his thoughts about them, it does rub him the wrong way with how they go about things. He may be a mage-hunter, but terrorism isn't the way to go about it. They are like the Kublan under the rule of his former best friend turned rival]

They are. I've been trying to set up shields around the town and protect those who can't protect themselves.

[It's taken a lot of her energy and focus.]

I'm still trying to perfect my own magic.

[She smiles nervously.]

[Troy lets Levy speak, looking at her body language and seeing that nervous smile.]

Do you go to Nova City much? So far the best place I know to train is in there. Could just be my bias, but the Holodeck is a good place for that in general.

[Troy doesn't know that David owns the place, only being to the Holodeck once.]

How do you usually practice your magic anyway? I'm not familiar with how magic works where you came from.

[If she had been doing the same thing or training in the same place, she could have just hit a plateau that's been slowing her progress down]

[Levy grins at Troy.]

I think David owns that place, or he opened it anyway. So I have heard of it. I don't spend too much time in Nova City.

[When he asks about her magic her grin falters though only for a second before smiling up at him again.]

I depends. Everyone practices it differently, usually with fighting. I read more... I guess I'm not sure how to make it stronger.

[She's trying though.]

One of the Water Archons flew away and hit the wall, dropping its weapon. Two more Archons were still standing, along with the Sahuagin. While the Archons turned towards the interlopers, the Sahuagin kept forward towards the man, raising its weapon up to strike at him.

The woman looked to Ted as he approached. Oh happy day. Someone to help her.

"H-He's back this way. He's injured. Monsters were attacking him and he told me to seek help!" She said as he started back in the direction she came.

"Come on!"

Belle was carefully studying the monsters and their movements. It seems like one is intent on attack the poor man, so her eyes drifted over to Levy, she was aware that Levy had magic, so odds were she was likely be able to get the one further away that was attacking the poor man.

"Levy, can you use that spell again to attack the creature about to attack the young man? I'll draw the other two away." With the words said Belle was already moving, sword in hand as she was ready to defend herself should she have to.

Edging closer, she swung the sword, hitting one of them in the hopes that it would draw them away.

Levy nodded her head and moved closer to the stranger being attached. She'd have to aim her attack carefully in order to not hit the man, more so the closer the Sahuagin got. In order to make this less of a problem she ran to his side, her fingers joining together to write the word once more.

"Get away!"

With her words came a large gust of wind directed at the creature. She didn't look at the stranger but she did speak to him.

"Are you hurt? Stay behind me!" The least she could do was be a shield.

"Hello, my calcified friend! Is there a slot in your schedule for some exploration? They've just discovered another mound of ruins; this time underwater! Care to join me? I warn you, it's a little dangerous, but I'm sure it's manageable."

[One can almost hear his grinning as the skeleton appeared on the screen.]

"Hmm... ...Just a sec, pal, lemme check."

[The feed cuts off for a moment and later comes back, Sans was holding a booklet, to which he shows Ted his schedule.not was only a moment, but one item on the To Do list might have read, "Prank Weiss."]

"...I can make some room to join ya. Be right over, Ted buddy."

*chuckles* "That does seem important. I'm sure whatever treasure we find will make up for it, though. Be sure to bring a wetsuit or a spare change of clothes or something; I'm sure you'd hate to get your slippers soggy."

[After the short video chat withTed, Sans was actually looking forward to doing something different. He can always prank a random person ~~like Weiss~~ later.

But there he was, already at the meeting spot with his hands in his coat pockets and a grin on his face, waiting for Ted to come running by.]

Ted grinned himself when he met Sans on the boat. He didn't give much thought to how he'd get on; he vaguely knew Sans was a past soldier. And even if he wasn't feeling up to fighting, well, more for Ted! Most of all he was glad to have a friend to share the experience with.

Thankfully, Sans was the only monster for some time as they navigated the delve. Ted elected to fill the silence with jokes and garrulity. The cry for help shifted him into heroic gear, and he practically yanked Sans' arm out of its socket in his hasty compliance. "Yes, show the way, but stay behind!"

The woman leads the man..and the skeleton? (Was that thing a monster?) along with her, taking them down the path that her and her husband had taken. Eventually they come into a room and there is blood on the floor and a dead body off to the far end of the room.

She gasps and runs over to it to check it out, thinking it might possibly be her husband. But it isn't. After San and Ted come into the room, the woman's husband suddenly appears behind them. Sword in one hand and a fireball in the other. The tip of his sword is pointed at the two of them.

"Ah, you did well, honey. Now if you two gentle would just drop all your belongings, we can all get out of here." Yes, this is a robbery.

One of the Archons blocked Belle's blade with its own and the other sprung forth and attacked her, while the Sahuagin gets blown back by Levy's attack and hits the wall. The man is shaken up, a few cuts and scratches, but he's okay.

"Y-Yes. Thank you!" He said, fear still gripping him.

Belle had looked over for a brief moment. Well this was not good was a thought passing through her head as she watched the other get near enough to attack her. She couldn't move fast enough and was hit, send to the near by wall, side bleeding.

"Let's get moving"

"Belle!"

Levy stayed by the man but worry rang through her voice. She looked back at him, her expression grim and determined. "Stay close to me."

She brought her hands together again waiting to see if Belle has the strength to stand and run before the Archon could strike again. She wasn't leaving a friend behind.

She moved slightly, hand to her bleeding side. She could manage to stand up and grab her sword before she quickly tried to move away, getting closer to the others.

"I think we should get moving."

Levy nodded her head once, leading the man and Belle away from the fight. She didn't stop moving until they were a safe distance away, back in the direction that they had come.

"Is everyone okay?"

Gasp! A setup! Ted was furious.

"You vile villains! How dare you don the guise of the helpless and needy! Very well, you'll have my possession; only tell me whose body that is just there." While he said all this, Ted got out his bag, slowly opening it like a shy trick-or-treater.

"I should be fine as soon as I can get out of here." She is making sure to keep pressure on her side at least for the moment, before looking down at her outfit, she was trying to think if she could use some fabric from it to wrap her wound up.
