(no subject)

Who: Roman, Blake and Jaune.
When: Throughout the day.
What: Friendship Blake and Jaune still have their very strong suspicions about Roman so they're stalking him.
Where: Various areas in Nova City.
Warnings: There might be strippers and other subject matter.

Jaune was saddened he didn't get the chance to wear the disguise he had carefully thought out for going after Roman, but he wanted to avoid being seen. Even if there was nothing stopping him or Blake from being in the same vicinity, and he was tempted to confront Roman and set him off somehow so he ruined this for himself, not giving themselves away right now was important. Roman was more likely to do something terrible if he was under the impression he was alone.

He glanced down the road, feeling sick from just looking at him. He thought he understood why Weiss had done what she did. It didn't mean he was fully okay with it. When Blake had been willing to go along, he had felt grateful and relieved. She seemed to know what she was doing. Keeping his voice low, he started narrating aloud what Blake could easily see for herself. "Hairbow Rogue, he just left and now he's heading in another direction. Do we follow?"

Blake hadn't worn a disguise. But she did bring the backpack she tended to carry around while hunting down books for Levi. She tucked a book under her arm for good measure. That way it might seem like she was doing her job and not shadowing someone. If she did get spotted there was nothing weird about seeing Blake with a book.

She wasn't optimistic about Torchwick doing something obviously nefarious in broad daylight but seeing what the scummy little rat was up to and where he liked to hang out couldn't hurt. Plus, if for some reason things went wrong she didn't feel secure about leaving Jaune on his own.

She fixed team JNPER's leader with a patented Blake stink eye at the code name. "I can see that." She eyed the roof. It was usually better to tail someone that way because face it, most people won't be looking for what's above them. But she doubted Jaune spent much time scaling rooftops. "Yeah, but we need to keep our distance. In case he turns around and we need to duck behind something."

Oh man, kids these days. Roman had expected some vigilante activity, sure. But given how much of a pain these kids were in the past, he expected it to be a little less embarrassing. Who would've thought that Red was the competent one of the bunch? Roman couldn't decide if he should be annoyed that they were tailing him, flattered that they thought he was worth the work, or if he should just give up on the poker face and laugh himself to death.

In the end he decided to have a little fun with it. He could confront them and spend hours arguing whether or not it was self defense when they inevitably fight... or he could make sure they quit on their own. He contemplated the various merits of a dog shelter versus a gentleman's club before deciding on the latter. That should throw both his junior spies for a loop, right?

He stopped at a relatively classy establishment because he does have standards. A few hushed words and a few discreet bills to the doorman ensured that if the brats did follow him in, they wouldn't be stopped. Can't have age limits ruining their fun, after all. Then he settled into the plush leather of a corner booth and ordered a whiskey for the wait.
