he didn't know what to do. so he's been sleeping (besides showering and going to the bathroom like a normal person). he hadn't spoken to anyone until now and that was only via text.

anyone entering his room will feel the wonderful overpowering depression in the air. how delightful! but you still might want to see if he's alive or not... ]

[It wasn't normal to see Nozaki this depressed, but Mikoto couldn't blame him. After coming to terms with Chiyo's absence, he had cried a lot. But right now he had to look after his friend. Which is why he steps in his room, carrying a plate of bunny shaped onigiri. He places the plate down and sits. He doesn't say anything yet, but he's there if Nozaki needs him.]

[ Mayu was worried about his brother. After Chiyo disappeared, he had started spending more time next to or in Umetarou's room. Sometimes, he slept next to his brother's bed, since he had grown too much to share.

He heard misery loved company, so Mayu decided to stay with his brother as often as possible. He still didn't say much, and tried to offer mostly silent comfort.]

[ he enjoyed Mayu staying by, even if for the first couple of nights, Mayu heard him crying. he didn't like to show emotions like that... it just wasn't him. he was just so worried about Chiyo.

where was she? was she angry at him? was she okay? was she...gone? just like that? what if she came back? would she remember or would he have to pretend like nothing happened?

Nozaki was quiet most nights. he hadn't said anything to Mayu or anyone else. today though, he wanted to tell Mayu something.

he wanted to tell him thank you. their bond was stronger than anything possible. it had always been. but Mayu didn't need to be in here just sleeping and moping with him. he needed to live his life... maybe Nozaki would find inspiration from Mayu if he did.

he reached a hand out from under his sheets on his futon and reached an arm out to place it on top of Mayu's head. he just wanted the other, silently. Mayu could tell what he was saying this way ]

[ Their dad tended to be open with his emotions, so Mayu saw no reason to be embarrassed or ashamed. The brothers just happened to be more stoic most of the time. Missing a loved one was a good reason to cry.

Mayu figured Chiyo was home, and much safer. Genessia was full of dangers beyond belief.

Chiyo disappeared at an awkward time. Otherwise Umetarou might have had inspiration from the recent fight Mayu had with Mikoto. He wasn't fully over his anger at Mikoto wanting to witness a yandere, but he also didn't want to lose his redhead.

Mayu put his hand over his brother's arm. He wanted to be sure that his brother would be able to move past the heartbreak.]

[Kashima waits until late. She has been in the house, of course, but quiet. Much of her dramatic behaviors have dissipated as of late. She, like Nozaki, misses Hori-senpai. And while she pretends it hasn't bothered her at all, it has shown.

So when she knocks on Nozaki's door at nearly midnight after finishing a late shift at work, she waits for a mumble of a response. She slinks into the room quietly, settling on the floor a respectable distance away, careful to look in the other direction.

Just because she routinely behaves like a bit of an idiot does not mean that she actually is one.]

[ Nozaki peeks out from his covers when he hears someone come into the room. he looks over at Kashima, his hair sticking straight up. he looks...pathetic almost ]

[She looks down at the floor in front of her, thoughtful.] I was pretty sure you knew, but in case you didn't I wanted to say so in person.

You can tell by her room. Some things just disappear. [If Nozaki is looking, he'll spy her fingers tighten in the fabric of her skirt.] That's how I knew senpai went home, too.

[After a moment's hesitance, she smiles weakly at Nozaki. It's far from convincing.] Chiyo-chan wouldn't want you to be sad!

...actually being sad would mean you liked her enough to miss her. Maybe she would want you to be a little bit sad.

[ Nozaki's quiet. he listens, shuffling under the sheets just a little. he's quiet, almost too quiet.

he had been moping but he wasn't extremely upset.

they had all lost someone special from home. and Nozaki had such high hopes for Kashima and Hori here. he broke, beginning to sob ]

I wanted...to do a special chapter in my manga, for your wedding with senpai.

[You know, moments like this prove that Kashima isn't the only dense one in the series.

But she doesn't cry, despite wanting to. Instead, she fishes through her pocket to find a tissue and hands it to him, very obviously perplexed.]

...Hori-chan-senpai and I won't have a wedding. Ask Chiyo-chan when you see her. I told her I want one, but to perform for his!

She and Hori had not disclosed any feelings to one another here. They'd danced around them like they always have.]

And really I thought you were supposed to cry for your lost love, Nozaki. Chiyo-chan will be so disappointed. [Sighing dramatically, Kashima relaxed. This was the Nozaki she knew.
