"Well... I am literate in Ancient Runes, of course, although— well... I don't know how good I'd be at crafting jewellery!" Maria winces apologetically into the camera, as she adds a "Sorry!" to that statement of fact.

"So there are regular people who know the spirit language of Runic? This is good to know.

No worries about not knowing how to cut gemstones. I need help from one of each."

"Oh, no, I don't know what you're talking about with the "spirit language"; sorry!

"— I studied Ancient Runes as a sort of... Dead language, really; as in, a written language, like— cuneiform, for an example!" Maria grimaces again, as she attempts to explain the whole idea of the wizarding world's education: at least, at Hogwarts.

[Anastasia would interrupt. She only needs to know the absolute basics.]

"Your Ancient Runes could very well be similar to the spirit language of my world. Similar enough to serve my needs."

Maria blinks, uncertain of that, especially given that she is certain— dead certain in fact— that there is really no way to pronounce the Cuneiform without translating it first into Common English. "In-indeed....

"And... What are your needs, Milady?" She remembered to add the "Milady" this time, because of course, there was some royal title connected to Anastasia, if she recalled correctly: wasn't there?

"It's...difficult to explain.

Umm... The best way I can put it is... I have things called mana slots, which controls the mana in me and helps determine who and what I am. But I had to do some things that gives me more mana than I have slots for at my age. These gems fashioned into Runic symbols are to serve as temporary mana slots."

[Vain? That doesn't particularly bother Satsuki, at least not at the moment.]

If you can, I would recommend getting in contact with Bridget Frostheart for the jewelcrafting. She is simpler to contact in the evening, however.

[She once more gets distracted by her own image in the mirror, carefully checking her hair for anything out of the ordinary.]

"Bridget... Frostheart... In the evening..."

[She finally managed to pull herself away from the mirror. It looked like she was resisting something else.]

"You know... I think there's something else I'm forgetting... But I'm sure it will come to me while I get the other materials."

[Satsuki isn't certain what to make of Anastasia's behavior at the moment, so keeps an eye for other clues. The resistance is noted but.. Of what? Does Anastasia appear to be in her own room?]

Correct. Are these materials needed for the tome we talked about?

[Anastasia was indeed not in her own room. The young girl has been dealing with this behavior, among others for a few days now. She seems aware and unable to control it. But for now, she seems to be her old self for the time being.

But the mention of a tome stops Anastasia in her figurative tracks. She struggled to remember a mention of tome, but she can't seem to recall it. Unfortunate as she was usually good at remembering things.]

"A tome...? I... I don't remember ever talking about a tome..."

Well it has been some time since we had.

[Satsuki isn't certain if she should clarify the word 'grimoire' or not. She ends up concerned, though her expression remains neutral.]

Have you been feeling all right lately? Where are you?

"...I suppose I could be better. I'm staying with Sakura until I can get the materials I need."

[She might as well go ahead and explain what's wrong, but she's going to wait and not go off explaining something if it wasn't actually asked for.]

[Oh, well that's good. She doesn't know Sakura too well, but she seems the type that would get along with Anastasia. There's the sound of papers being shuffled aside. Awkward big sister mode: On.]

I see. Would you like to talk about it?

[Anastasia and Sakura are best friends, so this was the best possible arrangement with Anastasia's condition.]

"It could take a bit to explain, but since my request sounded incredibly vain, it would be a good idea that I explain anyway..."

[She checked the palm of her hand, then turned her hand over. It seemed more of a caution action than a vain one.]

"My people have mana slots, where mana can flow through our bodies and determine who and what we are. We are born with few slots, and gain more as we grow and mature. I went to the dream docks with Sakura, and I came back with new power that is taking up more mana slots than I have."
[A pause for a breath.]
"I need these materials to make Manacrafted, also called Spiritcrafted, accessories to serve as temporary additional mana slots until I naturally develop more."

[She raises a hand to her chin in thought.]

I see.. Then I am afraid my information would be the extent of the help that I can really provide. My magical knowledge, as you already know, is severely lacking. However when you do meet Bridget, but certain to mention my name- I am confident she would not turn you away, but it may expedite the process.

And while I confess it is a bit.. Unlike you, I would say that vanity is only undesirable when taken to certain extremes. What happens when one goes too long without addressing the mana slot issue?

"I regret to say that I may need help contacting Miss Frostheart. I'm not very good at seeking people out, even with convenient means..."

[She takes a moment to compose herself. This isn't an easy reality to accept.]

"...My personality will shift randomly to any of the Goddesses of my world whom have shared some of their power with me for the purpose of destroying Eruzael, the false god. Then, magical malfunctions become more frequent and dangerous...and finally... My body will break apart into the core elements of mana. To put simply, I'll cease to exist."

[Ah, yes. Satsuki remembers their time using the virtual mapping device when they were preparing the medical tents.]

I will take care of contacting this time, but once your issue is resolved I am taking you aside for educating on the basics.

[So, yes, she has no intention of letting Anastasia cease to exist if she can help it. Still, she does appear concerned again.]

Do the shifts pose any harm to you? Is there any idea how much time do we have before the worst of things could take place?

[Schooling from Satsuki? Anastasia us intimidated by the idea, but won't refuse. She would then count on her fingers each Goddess's influence.]

"Not really. Most are harmless. Lets see... Umm, these are not their names, first of all. Water is vain, yet gentle. Earth is sleepy and stubborn. Wind is playful. Fire is very aggressive and passionate. Ice is blunt and brawley. Light is saintly and Darkness is mute and creepy..."

[She can be strict, it's true. After the list is given, Satsuki's brows raise a bit. She'd be curious to see the others in action, really, but time could be of essence.]

Seven.. Understood. Do you have an idea of how much time we have to have these slot charms created?

[It would have been eight, but while half of what she listed were very close calls, she lost one of them completely.]

"I don't know how long I have, but all the accessories I need can probably be done in a day or two."

[And for a moment, it seemed as though her personality shifted again as her eyes narrowed and crossed her arms in a pout.]

"But what do I know? I'm just a sheltered little princess who was never let out of her room."

[She dropped her arms and peered away, combing her fingers through her hair awkwardly.]

[Satsuki silently stares at the screen for a moment. It may not be simple to tell, but her lip twitches a couple of times.

That...

That was too cute.]

Excuse me a moment.

[She switches to voice, though she meant to mute as well.]

*HMMMNK*

[It almost sounded like some sort of sneeze.]

[Anastasia had no idea what just happened. But upon hearing what seems to have been a sneeze, she had her own reaction, speaking in her native language.]

"Bonne santé à vous, Satsuki."

[O- Oh. She heard that. When she's in view again, her cheeks are very slightly flushed. Ok, she's good now.]

My apologies. What was that?

"What was what?"

[It was genuine confusion.]

"Did I shift again, or was it what I said?"

You said 'Bonne santé à vous'; I am not familiar with that phrase.

[She did shift, of course, but she withholds that information for the moment. Satsuki clears her throat.]

Are there times when you are not aware when these shifts happen?

"Oh! That was 'Good health to you,' in High Nevusian, the language of kings. It's spoken by most royal families on my world."

[She would collecting her long, blonde hair over her shoulder, gently stroking it as she tries to understand what she is talking about.]

"Yes, and no... When I have a shift, it occurs 'naturally.' It feels so normal when I shift that I am aware it was a shift, but it feels so normal that I don't really notice that I shifted... Did that make sense...?"

Intriguing; your language has a rather.. Elegant sound to it. In any case, thank you.

[She'll have to remember that phrase.]

I believe I do. The way I see it, it could be compared to blinking in a sense. Thankfully your shifts do not appear to be as disruptive as other episodes I have witnessed.

[Anastasia went quiet for a moment, remembering what the Fire Goddess's influence made her do. Destroying an entire city district is not something she can brag about.]

"...What have you seen, if I might ask?"

[Satsuki is silent for a moment.]

I... lost control of my emotions and became a monster. I attempted to conquer Nova City.

Jakuzure, Gamagoori, and Komeiji, my three most loyal associates, were able to stop me.

[She's glad this was a private video. It helps that she feels she can open up to Satsuki.]

[Satsuki can't help but feel taken aback. Not just from the event, but the idea that the princess was capable of that level of destruction at her age.]

So it would seem. My apologies, I.. Do not really know what to say.

[She won't blame Satsuki, but it was certainly a better reaction than any of her friends had.]

"...Can you join in on Sakura's promise that I won't lose control again?"

[She pauses a moment.]

Is completing the runes all it would take? What would you have me do?

[It's not a 'no', but Satsuki isn't the type to make promises she cannot keep. Especially for the sake of providing comfort.]

"That's the theory, at least..."

[She would curl up slightly in despair for a moment, wringing her hands before she peeked back at the camera.]

"Satsuki... You've cared about me in a way that is familiar. I don't have anyone like it in my family, but... would it be all right if I think of you... as a big sister...?"

[O- Oh.. Well, this is new. Satsuki is so taken aback she doesn't really know what to say at first.

The thought never crossed her mind, as she always thought of herself as a poor big sister. But maybe this is a chance for her; a chance to start making things right.]

I.. Ah..

[For a brief moment, she feels a chill up her spine as an image of Nui flashes in her mind. Perhaps for now it wouldn't be a good idea to bring her home.

For now.]

[Anastasia smiles.]

"Thank you. I always wondered what it was like to have a sister."

[But, moving on before one of the divines decides to chime in.]

"Okay, so... I look forward to meeting Miss Frostheart."

[Aww. That brings a small smile to her features.]

I shall try not to disappoint you too much, then. I am not exactly the most exciting individual.

[At least not for kids, in her opinion.]
