[On flips a screen of a young man listening pensively to the Weiss hologram before him with squinted eyes. It's easy to guess he's only getting more confused as his expression crosses over into annoyed.]

Whaaaaaaaaa?! Man that's a teal deer! Except in words, of course. Geez. They say I can't leave? Well watch this!

[And when he tries to go through the dark corridor he opens, it promptly spits him back out. He looks shocked for a moment. Then he lets out a nervous laugh.]

Well...ah haha...that is something new. At least they can't blame this one on me. Who am I kidding? Saix will probably try. But then, he has to find me first.

[He's silent for a moment. Is he going to panic? Rant? Rave?

Nope.

A grin spreads across his face.]

That's right....[He looks as though a light bulb is slowly going off behind that mulleted façade.] I can't leave and at least for now, no one can find me.

[Demyx kicks back, proceeds to get comfortable and begins to pluck out a few notes on his sitar. He's in no hurry to go anywhere.]

My magic is water-based. Pretty sure I could. [He seems to think casual murder over for a moment. Sounds...dirty.] Eeewww, though. I hope they just surrender.

People with enough vision to orchestrate something like this don't give in easily, but we're not killing anyone either. Not unless we have no choice.

[ Not like he had control over what the kid did or didn't try to do, but he hoped the sternness to his voice at least discouraged it. Despite his wariness, he did see the potential in the idea of two people with experience in similar kinds of magic working together. ]

Hmmm...[He looks gloomy. Almost sad.] I'm kind of relieved you say so, but you know, they really might not give us a choice.

[All childishness has fled him now and he seems much older.]

[ His expression turned grim at the admission. He wanted to believe that a solution could come about without violence, but he knew all too well that sometimes not everyone made it out alive.

The mood shift was immediately apparent, and it took him somewhat off guard. His story clearly went deeper than Jefferson had initially assumed. He didn't entirely understand, but he didn't really need to. He wasn't about to pry. Still, he felt the need to say something. ]

[ That was better. JHe gave a slight smile in response to the thank you, but there was no need to make a big deal of it. ]

I'm Demyx. [He grins. Talking to the populace isn't so bad. He doesn't get why Saix didn't allow it. They could have ditched the coats and worn civilian clothes until the end of the mission.]

[ There's a moment of hesitation. ]

Did you need help with anything? Since you're new and all.

[Just then his stomach rumbles. He lets out an sheepish laugh.] Well, I guess I need to go find some food.

[He gestures at the pod he came out of.] I mean, that's an ok place to nap, but they could have left me some snacks.

[ Jefferson twisted his eyebrows but a breathy laugh escaped despite himself. ]

I could probably help you with that. Are you still near the Bay?

I was going to chill here, but I can't go quick enough now. There's a crazy ice lady that wants to .... [he tries to remember all she said to him] torture me, I think. That was the gist.

Geez, why do these things have to happen?

[ That little spiel definitely earned Demyx a baffled look. ]

You mean Weiss Schnee? Did you pay attention to anything she said at all?

[ He exhaled heavily. Looked like he'd have to show the kid the ropes. ]

Listen, since you're clearly in over your head let me meet you at the Bay and take you somewhere for a meal. I can explain things to you more easily in person.

Not the pretty girl in the hologram - but that lady did have white hair and ponytail. Does she have an evil sister?

Sure! [He won't say no to a free meal.]

[ Jefferson simply rolled his eyes in response. This kid was going to be a handful. ]

I'll meet you there in about 20 minutes. Do not move.

[He waits for Jefferson feeling at little relieved. He strums his sitar while he waits trying to ignore some of the things coming back to him about his last moments, because they really suck. ]

" Don't let me drown..." he sings the last words of the song quietly.

[ Checking in at the Bay was something Jefferson had grown into the habit of doing several times a day, so going there to meet Demyx wasn't really an inconvenience. He suspected that he might be a little more rambunctious in person, but he'd seen pretty much all types in his life.

What he hadn't suspected was to see a gloomy looking teenager. He stood back until his song was through, arms crossed and one eyebrow raised. The instrument itself was of particular interest to him, certainly, but he was also intrigued that the kid wasn't half bad at strumming a tune. He gave a small round of applause before tilting his head in greeting and making over toward him. ]

[He looked up, startled. His face flushed a bit at the applause. It was a nice change from being told off for making noise.But he HAD been practicing every chance he could sneak away.

Sort of. You could say it comes pretty naturally to me.

[ Noise wasn't bad as long as it wasn't repetitive. Or too loud. Or annoying. Thankfully Demyx hadn't fallen under any of those categories yet. Yet. ]

[ He shrugged casually, a light smirk tugging at his lips. ]

Well..[Demyx wasn't good at guile. He quirked an eyebrow.] It's more like I'm really proud of being able able to do it, and I don't know any other sitarists but me, so it's kind of my thing that makes me unique. But, I also am always practicing and wanting to find ways to become really good at it.

[He shrugged, grinning.] Maybe it is both. No one's ever asked before.

[ The open honesty was something Jefferson wasn't so used to, but it was kind of good. He could get used to it. ]

Sounds to me like you actually have a reason to be proud, then. Playing that thing must be pretty hard considering I don't even know what it is.

[ He gave a good humored laugh. ]

If you're going to hang around with me, Demyx, then you'd better get used to being asked lots of things.

[Well, people encouraging small talk with him is not something he's used to.]

Why? Are you a curious guy? [He blinks. That should be okay. So long as he doesn't tell him anything classified about the Organization.]
