WHO: Blake and Levy
WHAT: Killing a Shadow Beast
WHEN: Late Afternoon
WHERE:Fayren
WARNINGS: n/a
Blake figured that if she was going to stay sharp then fighting people might not be enough. Sure, a good partner could help you, but you wouldn't go all out against them like you would a monster. There was also no moral gray area there. It seemed a waste not to help out with some of the problems plaguing Fayren when she could fight. And since she needed to go there anyway, she may as well drop off some books at Levy's shop.
She stepped through the door unloading her weekly haul on the counter.

Levy grinned at her friend and employee with a warm smile. "How have you been?" She was wearing her usual dress with her bright blue hair tied back and out of the way. Levy always looked more relaxed around books.

"I'm about to head off to take care of that Shadow Beast creature."
She wasn't sure if aura was the same as magic but it would discredit those 'Hands' people if people with special abilities close to it stopped some magical beasts. That might throw a wrench into their whole 'all magic is bad', spiel.

Levy read the newspaper but she didn't always look at the bounties. There were a lot of people who did them because they needed the money which she did not. She didn't, however, like the idea of those called out running amuck.
"Do you need any help?"
She was used to taking things like bounties back in Fairy Tail though her work had been ranged. It's been awhile since she's done something like that.

The story in the paper could be true. And whoever made these things certainly had a twisted mind. But these beasts could have also been set loose purposely to give the Hand's of Decay's point of view a more sympathetic feel.
Blake blinked in surprise. She knew that Levy had magic, but she hadn't seen a whole lot of it in action. "You can handle yourself in a fight?"

She adjusts her headband before grabbing a pen and slipping into the small pocket on her dress. With that done she moves to but a sign at the front of the book shop that read: 'back in 15 min.'
Levy then turned towards Blake. "Let's go."

"Do you fight hand to hand or rely on some other kind of power?"
It was hard to imagine someone that small going hand to hand, but again, taking things for granted in Genessia wasn't necessarily an efficient way to judge things.
"The thing we are up against feeds on shadows - my abilities allow me to make shadow copies of myself, so I'm not too worried, but if you have any kind of light abilities that should help a lot in beating it." Blake briefed her.

She wasn't the strongest in her guild but she wasn't a push over either. At Blake's news Levy simply nodded her head. She wasn't surprise to hear that her friend had abilities like that.
"I can cast light if you need it. Generally if it can be written I can do it though I'm quicker with some over others. Fire is one that I can do in an instant." She had her pen just in case.

"It's more like shadow copies,"Blake mused, a light bulb going off. "Wait. I can make a copy, you can cast light. We can keep distracting it that way and attack while it tries to feed from the shadow! That thing won't stand a chance!"
She had originally had something like this in mind, but hadn't figured out how she was going to make it the most effective. Well, this made things significantly easier.

It was clear that, like Levy, Blake had a good mind.
"Let's go!"
