03RD AFFAIR | ACCIDENTAL VIDEO/ACTION
Accidental Video: Painting
think of me fondly
[The screen flickers and focuses on the back of Crystal’s shoulder. She’s wearing a tight white tank top that’s smudged with different colored paints. There is a brush positioned delicately between her fingers as she adds the splash of light pink within her canvas. When she leans forward a small mark tattooed into her lower back is visible but it quickly vanishes from the screen when she reaches for more paint.
A sweet tune is sung from her lips which a few people might recognize from The Phantom of the Opera. Her voice is like honey, singing each note with a sweet inflection as she works. Her voice is trained, holding each note perfectly before flowing effortlessly into the next measure of the song.]
to take your heart back
and be free
Action: Café
[She’s in a sour disposition after her phone had accidentally turned on and broadcasted her singing across the network. Crystal feels exposed and it isn’t a feeling she enjoys. She finds a small café in Nova City, a place where no one would know her, to think.
She sips at her coffee and listens to the ambient sound of people bustling along. It calms her down though she continues to feel uneasiness knot in her stomach. She takes pride in keeping her emotions tied to a very taught leash and now she’s forced to reevaluate that. Thought flitters in and out of her head as she sips the steaming latte.
Crystal isn’t paying a lot of attention to those who walk buy. Her clear baby blue eyes are unfocused and aloof.]
Closed Action: Trip
[Crystal waits at the Nova City archway wearing a purple dress and heels. She has a bag tucked artfully in the crook of her arm and a pair of sunglasses pushed over her eyes. She looks very relaxed and composed for someone who’s standing around waiting.
There is no telling where her eyes land though when her company arrives a smirk begins to tug at the corner of her lips.]
Thank you for coming out to meet me.

Thank you for coming out to meet me.

Action
Her head turns to find the owner of the hand who saved her drink, her lips teasing into a warm smile. Her baby blue eyes shined with their usual allure but also with humor and awe.]
Impressive.
[Crystal takes her cup back from him.]
Thank you for saving my coffee. Does my hero have a name?
Action
Steven Grant, at your service. I'm an investor and occasional purveyor of the fine arts.
[This time, his hand is extended towards her in the first half of a handshake.]
It'd be my pleasure to know if the fair maiden has one too.
[He's certain he's seen her on the network before, but he hasn't yet seen her accidental video. Not that it matters; you couldn't beat in-person introductions.]
Action
I’m Crystal.
[No last name, at least none that she wants to associate with.]
What is an investor and purveyor o fine arts doing in a small café?
[She can’t help but be interested in him. He’s more like the men she used to work with and conversation slips easily pass her lips.]
Action
[Soft, delicate, and featherlight. It's been awhile since he's known that kind of touch. He lets it linger for awhile. Just enough to show that he notices it.]
Other than the need to unwind as much as anyone? There's beauty to be found in more than just paintings and sculptures.
[There's a twinkle in his eyes as he regards the cup he'd just rescued. And her.]
That could mean anything from an exquisite cup of latte... to a vision straight out of one's dreams.
Action
You're to sweet. I believe my coffee pales in comparison.
[Though she doesn't at all look bothered by the compliment.]
I'm fortunate you came looking here for a place to unwind.
[Crystal's voice is like honey: sweet, tantalizing and alluring. Each word spoken with an appealing sort of honesty and innocence that contradicts the subtle way she moves. Her finger circles the rim of her cup slowly while her teeth gently bites her lower lip. Her posture is perfect in that it draws the eyes where she wants them and it's obvious that she knows exactly what she's doing.]
Action
[He responds as any man would when faced with interest from someone they're interested in to begin with. A subtle loosening of his posture to something more relaxed. A slight hunch of the shoulders, leaning forward to acknowledge her interest without invading her space. And above all, contact with nothing but the sapphire orbs that were her very eyes. They tell her that she has his complete, undivided attention.... and there's nothing else he'd rather have tonight.]
And yourself? Everyone invests in something wherever they go.
Action
I'm afraid you found me at my secret place. [She replies with a laugh.] I come here to unwind and relax.
A place where no one knows my name.
[Her last sentence is in a lower tone and as she continues she leans forward.]
Present company excluded of course.
Action
That would make me a secret keeper. An unfair prospect because I would have you at a disadvantage.
[Smiling, Steven brushes an idle finger over the rim of his cup.]
Perhaps I can even things out with a secret of my own. Would you like to hear it?
Action
[She voice lowers to a whisper as if confessing to a lover.
As far as she sees it he doesn't have to tell her anything but she's enjoying their conversation and she's finding herself becoming more and more interested in the man sitting across from her.]
I promise to keep it safe.
Action
I find my life is incomplete without a little... danger. But it is not a thrill I pursue blindly.
[He waves a hand to indicate the crowd around them. Finely dressed men and women from the very highest walks of life, who could rightly be counted among Genessia's elite.]
There are some here who would abuse their lot in life to impose their will on others. Who would bring misery on those who travel by night. I invest in the downfall of such people, and the safety of those they oppress.
Action
Danger. [She repeats the word as if it's a musically intriguing idea. Her shimmering blue eyes glance around the cafe before falling back to her handsome company.]
And how would you go about doing that?
Action
Violence is a fact of this life, though fortunately the last resort. Before then comes subterfuge.
[The moon's light shines through the window, illuminating two kindred souls.]
It is a game best played with allies. Alone, one draws more attention than he should. With ravishing company expected of a man in high places?
[A smile creases those suave lips. Somehow, his fingers have found their way very near to hers. Not close enough to make direct contact, but enough to feel the warmth they both radiate.]
They'll never see him coming.
Action (note; ran out of time. Icons might be weird for a bit)
Her lips tug into a smirk.]
And who is this ravishing company?
[Crystals voice is sweet though her tone is light. It's obvious that she knows where he's going with this but she wants to hear more. She leans closer, allowing her fingers to lightly grace against his.]
Action | Aw, that's okay!
Someone who thrives on danger. Someone who can hide behind masks just as well as see through them. And someone who can tell people exactly what they want to hear so they'll never think to look twice.
[He responds the way she had, and in doing so, loosely allows their fingers to intertwine. He holds her gaze, his smile positively Sphinx-like.]
Someone just like you.
[Still smiling, his eyebrow lifts ever so slightly. It seems to say, "Am I wrong?"]
Action
A sultry smirk remains on her lips as his fingers laced between hers. To anyone who's watching them they appear as lovers with no devious intent or nature in mind.]
You talk as if you know me so well.
[Her smile widens as she slowly leans forward, bridging part of the distance between them. She won't tell him that he's wrong.]
Perhaps I want to hear more? Somewhere private?
Action | D'oh, sorry for late! Just to close things on my end.
Do I now?
[That's the distance between them all but completely eliminated as he mirrors her, close enough to study her eyes and nearly lose himself in her scent. Both know they're more than what the other seems and are deliberately indulging the other. Feeling the other out. Steven may not be entirely convinced that she believes in his mission, but he is convinced that she's interested.]
[His voice comes in a soft and seductive, yet raw and powerful whisper. Not unlike an ancient god reaching into the present from beyond the sands of time.]
Perhaps you do. Come with me; the night is young and the moon is bright.
[And as he rises, offering an arm for her to take, he feels the tug of nostalgia on his chest. He's finally remembered who she reminds him of. Her name is Marlene.]
