[ Atem is sitting at the counter of the Kame Game Shop. No one is in right now and so it seems the perfect time to be asking a question that has had him wondering for a while now.

Or, since Yugi started talking about his birthday. ]

If one was given the date of the 19th of the third month of Harvesting season in a calendar from an ancient civilization, do they know of any way to translate it into a date in today's era?

[ He can't help it, that's what he remembers his date of birth being. But that was over a thousand years ago. ]

[ What an odd question... Still, she's curious, and even if she doesn't thinks he can help much with it, perhaps there's something in the library that can help. ]

I... Am afraid I cannot help you with finding out which day that is, unfortunately. If it so happens that the day has passed while you were here... I wish you a happy birthday, late as it may be.

All of Yugi's talk of his own reminded me that I finally knew of it, after all this time.

[He gives a small shrug of his shoulder. ]

But it's no matter, I've gone this long without knowing it, it doesn't really make much of a difference.

Well, would it not be nice to celebrate it with the friends you have here?

[ She smiles as well at his thanks, even if a part of her wants to rebuff it if only because it's not necessary to her. ]

I think... They would want to celebrate it with you, to see you happy and to have fun. So it is important for that.

[ Atem would ask if he was a little young to know something like that but then he remembers Rebecca and shrugs to himself. After all, she was a genius, so was he to judge? ]

I saw a documentary on ancient calendars once. It was interesting.

Ah, but that's just an approximation. The ancient Egyptian calendar did not line up perfectly with the solar year, with the result of becoming inaccurate over time.

I can't say I'm not entirely surprised, considering it's been at least three thousand years or so.

That would have been towards the end of the New Kingdom then? Or afterwards?

It was a time of unrest, that much I do remember. I haven't actually looked back at history to see where my time fit into the grand scheme of things.

[ Depends on if Ryou wants the age he was when he died or if he wants the 3,000 years added on. ]

[Too polite to pry. He's just going to assume that it's at least that anyway because that's how old the puzzle and ring were.]

Well, we really didn't get much choice for a lot of that.

[ His voice is amused as he says it, he's not upset about it at all. Honestly, Atem couldn't have asked for a better partner in everything.

The only reason why is because I've been here for a year. If we had arrived at the same time, pretty sure we'd be the same. Sort of. Since I was shorter than you.

I would still be younger then you, Aibou. I was sixteen when I performed the spell that sealed Zorc. Your birthday falls before mine in the modern day calendar.

So when is it exactly? So I know and we could celebrate on the day.

July 26th, give or take. I'm not entirely sure how accurate it would be, given the three thousand year difference, but I suppose it shouldn't be too far off.
