[It was bad enough arguing with Airy. Getting a random accusatory text from Jefferson and a big, fat "I told you so" from Dave was enough to make him need a beer. He wasn't normally one to drown his sorrows in booze, and he didn't have any intention of getting drunk really, he just needed to think and not think of all the feelings his conversation with Jefferson had brought to the surface.

The bar he picked was far from their apartment, safe in his opinion, and he didn't look around at the other patrons as he took a seat at the bar and ordered a regular, bottled beer.]

[Toby is already sitting at the bar when he sees Nathan come in. He doesn't know the guy intimately here but he knows enough about him to know that something pretty awful probably happened. Not only that but he's heard some details through the grapevine.]
