Oi Dairine? Could you pick up a facemask and medicine on the way home?

[Conan hated getting colds. They always seemed to hit his child body so much worse than when he had been a teenager.]

[Oh boy. This isn't the first time Dairine has seen Conan sick, though the last time was likely due to the castle's influence.]

Decongestant, NSAIDs, cough syrup. [He hesitates, wondering if this would get him teased later.]

Better get child sized doses if they have them.

[He breaks down into another round of hoarse coughing.]

[She rolls her eyes, responding with some good old fashioned snark.]

No duh, I'll get child sized. Calculating the exact dosage from a full container for your tiny body is the last way I want to spend my evening.

[Dairine might tease him about the wording more later, depending on how bad the cold is, but she'll save it for now. They're on video after all. There are certain secrets best left unsaid.]

[Well, that's definitely not a good sign. Dairine doesn't let her concern show though, not outwardly.]

Got it. I'll grab them later.

[The minute she's off from work, she heads straight to the market. Wasting no time, Dairine gets home not long after. The sound of jangling keys and doorknob turning announces her arrival before she calls out.]

Conan! I'm home!

[He had finally managed to fall asleep while she was out. At the sound of the door he stirs groggily. ]

[The lack of immediate response is slightly worrying, given Conan's perchance towards trouble, but Dairine brushes it aside for the time being. She only just got in the door. Gotta make a full sweep of the apartment before coming to conclusions.]

[Kicking off her shoes, she shuffles through the living room towards the first place she thinks Conan would be: his room. The door creaks subtly as she peers into the room to check.]

[He was sitting up in bed, barely. But his voice sounded horrible. ]

Yeah, it's me.

[She opens the door fully when she realizes that he is up.]

How're you feeling?

"Probably about as well as I look."

That bad, huh.

[Not too surprising for a summer cold. Dairine reaches into her bag and pulls out the facemask, some bottles of medicine, and three mystery novels including Sherlock Holmes. She sets them all down next to the bed.]

Here you go – the medicine you asked for.

I'm okay! I think I just caught a cold.
