private text & open action [post-torture post]
((ooc: this post is likely to contain talk about torture and the things surrounding it in some threads, but there's nothing damning in the posti itself. It's all in the comments.))
[ Akira might not be in the video but he ended up getting involved with that asshole. So he's not at his best right now. ]
15th-16th | Action | Genessia, Hospital
[ He has no idea how he ended up in the hospital. He might have dragged himself there after he woke up. But he's there and he feels like shit and the doctors says that he has to stay at the hospital. He doesn't want to though, he needs to take care of his plants, but at least he stays the night. His hands are bandaged and so are other parts of his body--but he can't stop staring at his bandaged hands while he's awake. ]
16th | Action | On the road (from Genessia's Hosiptal to the Dancing Donner in Fayren
[ Stubborn will always be stubborn, even if it takes way too long to wead over to Fayren and his room over the pub. It hurts and it's exhausting and he has to stop to rest on benches way too often for his taste.
And again at those time he can't help but stare at his hands. A chef's hands are important. At least they're not permanently damaged but it will take time for them to heal. ]
I haven't been this bad off since I was a kid...
[ He murmurs it silently to himself. Those times he didn't actually have enything to live for, but he still hated getting hurt, he had been so scared of it while he lived in the slums. ]
16th | Private text to Yuuko Ichihara and Clow Reed
Sorry for being absent without warning. I have to take an undetemined amount of days off, sorry for the late warning.
[ Normally, he would write a better message but his hands really hurts and he's technically not supposed to do anything with his hands since they were damaged, so it's the best he can do. And now he's going to sleep. ]
17th-30th | Fayren, Dancing Donner
[ He sleeps well into the morning of the 17th (sorry bosses, if you replied to his message he didn't get back to you as soon as he would like).
Most of the time, he's in his room upstairs, reading, when he's not taking care of his plants or sleeping. But at random times every day (more regularly as time passes) hopefully three times a day but at least two, he goes downstairs for food. Usually he cooks his own food, being a cooking-nerd and chef and all, but right now he can't, so he has to make due.
It's really hard to eat when you've had your hands run through. ]
A couple random days | Genessia, Hospital
[ The condition for him being allowed to go home so soon was that he came back for check-ups. So he goes to them as he was told. He doesn't stay in the hospital more than necessary but since he leaves home early (he remebers how much time it took to leave it that first time) he's way too early most of the time. ]

A couple random days | Genessia, Hospital - 22nd
As she makes her way to the front desk she realizes how much her depth perception has changed. She runs directly into Akira, stumbling backwards and falling to the floor.
She looks up at him, feeling a little dazed.]
I'm sorry...
no subject
[ Normally he would have caught her before she ended up falling to the floor, but what with being told to use his hands as little as possible if he wants them to work properly again and a chef needs his hands. ]
You alright?
no subject
[Levy looks more shaken than someone who’d simply run into something. She turns to the left and uses her palms to lift herself from the floor. She carefully pushes loss strands of blue behind her ear before bowing her head slightly.]
Excuse me. I’m getting used to…. [She looks away suddenly looking unsure.] seeing.
[She finishes the sentence in a very quiet voice.]
no subject
[ He doesn't really get it but.. Seeing her state, he feels even more guilty that he's unable to do something so simple like helping her up.
...Sorry, I'd help you but I've been told to not use my hands.
[ He still does a little, because he can't let his plants wither and he can't not eat, but otherwise... ]
no subject
It's fine, I don't need help.
[She doesn't know if that's true but she doesn't expect it. She nods down towards his hands.]
How are your hands doing?
no subject
[ She did seem to have a little trouble for a moment there but he doesn't have any reason to protest. He lifts a hand, and looks at the bandages wrapped around it. ]
Better than when I first got here, at least. I don't know how long it'll be until I can use them properly again though.
[ And he's itching to cook, too. ]
no subject
They’re really good at healing here. I bet you will.
[She pauses before continuing.]
I don’t know if it will help but if you need a hand… [She pauses, noticing the pun and then inwardly cringes at using that word.] If you need help. I can help.
no subject
[ And he’s the cook that puts Jun’s theories about spice into action, Jun needs him, he can’t lose his ability to cook, it makes him scared of being useless. Not that Jun will throw him back to the slums but none the less, he does worry. ]
It’s fine, but thanks.
no subject
[Levy's expression softens.]
That's amazing, I'm sure you will able to again soon.
no subject
[ If not... He didn't know what he would do. ]
If I do, I could let you try something.
[ Because she seems nice and because he can't be of any help. ]
no subject
[Levy's smile grows a little bit more.]
I should let you go. Thank you for talking to me.
no subject
Thanks, to you too. Ah, I'm Akira, by the way.
[ Just, he thinks it might be good to do introductions, or something. ]
no subject
[Levy often forgets to introduce herself.]

[She nods her head and turns to go.]
17th
Ryo in tow, once they'd figured out where he lived, Alice knocked on the door without hesitation. ]
It's us, open up!
no subject
He doesn't want to open but he knows that they won't leave that easily, so he still heads for the door. When he opens he gives them a tired look, and drops his hand to his side again. Holding on to the doorhandle would just strain it. At least they have seen him worse for wear before, back when he first showed up as a child, although he had not been covered in bandages that time. ]
What do you want?
[ His voice is worn as well. He might have tried to stop himself from screaming but he hadn't been able to do that. ]
no subject
[ Or they would be, if he hadn't ditched the hospital. Alice may act dumb sometimes, but she can definitely see that there's a lot wrong with this scenario. When she'd seen Dave, he'd been different. His injuries hadn't remained, and she hadn't quite registered that he'd "died" whatever that means here.. but seeing all those bandages and hearing Hayama's rusted-sounding voice, she can't help but worry a little more. ]
no subject
It was M'lady's idea. [Not that Ryo put up any fuss about it.]
no subject
There's no need.
[ It was weird to have people come to visit just because he'd been hurt. But it wasn't, well, it wasn't unappreciated, even if he didn't show it. ]
no subject
[ Was she scolding him? Absolutely. It didn't seem to matter that he was a victim of a huge massive torture-murder attack, Alice was going to pout and scold him. ]
no subject
[ And it wasn't as if he was unable to get around on his own, though it was tiring. They couldn't keep him against his will, and he brought the medicines he was told to without protest. Though it was basically just antiseptics and painkillers, and he needed painkillers.
Something else that was tiring was protesting the presence of these two, so he just gives up with a sigh and retreats into the room, leaving the door open. He wouldn't be able to get rid of them, anyway, and they were already tiring to deal with on a good day.
He goes to sit down on the bed, among the rumpled sheets close to the small bedside table, where he has his medicines within reach. ]

"Forgive me for eavesdropping, but what's the trouble? It must be troubling indeed to prompt such arrests. Perhaps I can help." Vague notions of benevolence were about the only things Ted had to offer, as much for himself as others.
no subject
"Ah, no, it's nothing, really."
It's not nothing, though. He's not exactly in a good state at the moment, and it's showing.
no subject
"My, one would think 'nothing' capable of anything, with all that's put to its name. Well, so long as you're being completely, one-hundred percent honest, then all's well." He'd walk off teasingly, slowly enough to allow some sort of response, but he tends to believe people more often than not. Benefit of the doubt is one of his favorites.
no subject
"You know, it really has nothing to do with you, anyway."
Rather than saying something uncharacteristic like sorry, I was lying to a stranger, that was better to comment on.
no subject
A weirdo who was weirdly weird. Weird! Ted chuckled a little.
"There's that word again; 'nothing'. It's very absolute. Well, do you wish it to be, or do you prefer selfishness?"
no subject
He's too tired for these sort of questions.
no subject
Ted is never too tired to expound on them. Painfully. At length.
"In the first place, I'm not sure whether anything's really ever separate from anything else. But that's an idea to shelve. What I mean is, is it a sensitive manner, ill-suited for any man on the street, or is there some profit in making it my business?"
no subject
“There’s no profit in it.” He snaps it, but through the painkillers it still hurts to raise his voice because his throat is still raw.
no subject
Ted winced at his strain. He's heard that kind of thing before. "Apologies; as you say. Go under the Mercy."
