Briefing 4 | [Video/Action]
[Private Video; Dante Sparda]
[The election turnout was unexpected to him. Where he was thankful that Roman or 'John Smith' didn't come out on top, he wasn't expecting to beat Dante in it. Blaze knew that he was far more physically capable than he was, but part of him was relieved that they were on even ground despite that. Still, he'd worked with Dante, so Blaze had an idea of what he was capable of - without him, Blaze wasn't sure he would have been able to take down the "Halfbreed Collector" alone. Between that, and the great amount of support Dante did still get from the public, Blaze was confident in his decision.]
There's something I'd like to ask you.
[It's sudden and he knows it, but no better time than now, right?]
Would you be interested in joining me as Deputy Guardian of Attleton?
[Video]
[Blaze wasn't exactly one for public speaking, and that was very apparent to him at the Guardian debate. He couldn't help but admire people like President Harling and Prime Minister Nikanor for being able to do such a thing without faltering at any point. But Blaze was a soldier, not a public speaker. Even so, he had been placed in a position of leadership again, and he would do his best for Attleton like he did for his squadron. He couldn't help but hear Nagase's words again in his head when she gave up the position of flight lead to him. It gave him another confidence boost thinking about the support of his past wingmen.
It had been a couple of hours since he'd spoken to Dante. When the feed clicks on, Blaze is looking as composed as any soldier at attention would.]
This is Blaze, the new Attleton Guardian. [Wow, that was weird to say. Usually it's going on about Osea's 108th TFS.] I'm pleased to report that Dante will be joining me in Attleton as Deputy. If there are any matters about the city you'd like to talk about, feel free to get in contact with either of us.
[He hesitates a moment before smiling.]
Thank you for the confidence you've placed in us. We'll do our best for Attleton.
[Action]
[Blaze can be found throughout Attleton today, as he's been dedicated to getting more familiar with the city in the past month. He's been learning the fastest routes to get around quickly - especially to the dreaded Midnight Channel subarchway - so he can travel to places efficiently where necessary. He could be found all around the city at varying times - the Garden Bistro for a break for food and the Guardian's Office particularly. He has a new bike parked outside the office, one he'd made arrangements to pay off so he'd be able to travel faster.
Inside the office, he wouldn't be making any major changes to the decor of the place. The only new addition would be a framed photo on the desk, one he'd carried around in his jacket pocket for some time now. Otherwise, he was glancing through documents left in the office, getting more familiar with the way Attleton was run. Clearly, he needs to be bothered.]

[Private video the whole way]
[He was a little amused by Dante's reasons, honestly. If he hadn't worked with Dante once already, he probably would have been confused.]
At least this means I'm stuck with the boring end of the work instead of you. Is it safe to assume that's a yes?
[Private video the whole way]
[He shrugs.]
I'll be honest, if I'd won, I'd probably have stuck you with the paperwork anyway. Never was good with that sort of thing.

[Because insulting the other Guardians are clearly the best way to try to get votes from people, right? Blaze wasn't about to engage the guy himself because he was more focused on the people than the antics of a troll trying to get attention.]
I think we might have to speak with the other Guardians about Torchwick. I don't know the full story on him, but I remember his announced freedoms in Nova City shook everyone up.
[There was everything that Jaune had told him, and Blaze wasn't terribly certain in the research he'd done himself. That standpoint was going to be an odd one.
He gives a slight chuckle. That sounds like something Bartlett or Chopper would have done to him.]
That makes two of us. Most of my work was from inside a cockpit, not at a desk.

[He shrugs.] My desk was all for show. ...And ammunition for the odd brawl.

Video;
Hi, Blaze. I voted for you so I'm really happy that you won. I bet you'll do an amazing job.
I don't really go into Attleton so I have nothing to say about that in particular but I wanted to say hi. Also see how you were doing? I guess you'll be super busy now? Are you still working at the library? [She'll miss him there.]
Video;
Thank you, Airy. I'll do my best to ensure that no one's trust has been misplaced.
[But a leadership position is certainly not new to him, and doing his best is guaranteed.]
I have a lot of work for the first few days, but I'd like to keep the library job if I can. It'd be a welcome distraction.
[With an entire city's safety on his mind at any other point, the monotonous work of checking books in and out and putting them back on the shelves might be a welcome one.]
Video;
Not that you knew about that.
[She's really excited.]
You're so amazing you know that?
Video;
[Even when he's not working there, he's hanging around the library sometimes digging for books on his own. He's been curious to see if he can find anything relating to the Belkan War in there.
He looks a little surprised then. He was used to hearing that about his piloting skills, but he wasn't sure why now.]
How so?
Video;
[Airy continues to smile.]
Just are: you care about people, you decide you could help and then did. That's amazing.

I don't think I'll be up for practicing for awhile but I bet you'll be to busy anyway. If you need any help please let me know.

No, it can wait, don't worry. We can continue any time once you're better.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit. Would I be able to later tonight?
[He appreciates her offer of help, but he'd rather be the one helping her right now. And he doesn't want to drop in on her unannounced if she's not up to seeing anyone. He's far more concerned with how she is right now than any help he might need.]

I'm doing better since I left the hospital.
How are you?
Text; Private
Busy, to say the least. I feel like I might get lost in paperwork for days.
[He can't really say he's alright, because honestly he kind of wasn't. Not when he knows another one of his friends had been through hell.]

[Fai was a little relieved at the results, even though he still hadn't expected him to win of all people. But it made him happy deep down to know that more people seem to trust him.]
How is life as a Guardian so far?
video;
[He seemed pretty happy regardless of his own surprise. He was glad people had that kind of confidence in him, even from those he likely had never spoken to.]
Very busy right now. I'm not certain if many of these files are current since Attleton's been without a Guardian for a while, and I still have to meet the residents and plan for patrols.
video;
[A lot really did happen now he thought about it.]
But it shouldn't be too hard to play catch up.
video;
[Not with a damn serial killer on the loose, anyway. And god only knows what else that could happen, on top of petty crimes throughout the cities.]
Thank you for your help in keeping things as up to date as you could.

[That's probably not going anyway for a few days. Not until he's settled in and comfortable with the job. He smiles a little sheepishly.]
I may be late for iaido training for a little while until I get everything sorted. There's a lot I still need to do.
Re: video;

Yes, that would be ideal, actually. That would free up more time to work in the city during the day, at least for a while.
