[ Adela seems rather cheerful after leaving a hardware store in Nova City, a couple of bags in the back of her chair holding several custom-ordered parts, tools, and other various equipment she needs. She'll need to order metal slabs to actually buffer and mould into the main parts she needs, but still. It feels like things are finally coming together.

At the end of the month, with the help of the doctors in Nova City, she'll be able to perform the surgery-- ]

[ She has to yank back on the wheels of her chair in order to force herself to stop before she can run into the person in front of her. After a beat she relaxes, sitting up properly and seeming a little sheepish. ]

Action: Genessia – Library

[ As good of a mood as she's in, Adela probably is still devoting far too much of her time to studying. She'd argue that it's necessary for her to put so much time into it, but in all honesty she probably needs a break as well. Case in point, how she is at the library.

Sure, getting out of the apartment to do her reading every so often is important simply so that she doesn't go crazy from being in one place most of the time. Bringing her text books to the library is another necessary step, and because of the lack of barcoding it's clear that they're hers instead of the Library's. However, what she probably shouldn't be doing is taking a nap on top of one of the open text books.

Unfortunately, that is exactly what she's doing.

So now there's a red-headed girl in a wheelchair sleeping on her books. Care to help correct that? ]

[ When the video feed turns on, the previously clean bedroom of Adela's now looks like an automail bomb went off in it. There are parts and tools set everywhere, though it seems like it's done with purpose instead of simply being a mess. She doesn't exactly have a real workshop, after all. She... Might also have to apologize to Angelo for it later, though at least it seems like she has the sense to make sure towels are laid out on the floor to catch any oil and grease stains so that none of it touches the carpets.

Adela herself is a mess too, wearing a full body suit that has already gotten quite a few stains on it and having some black smudges across her face and hands – probably from not being careful enough. She stretches her arms above her head a bit before turning fully to the camera, wearing a bright smile that she honestly thought she wouldn't be able to feel like showing so soon. She figures at least these people should know what she plans on doing, though.

Hopefully, she can successfully hide the nervousness and apprehension she's feeling for the future while sharing this. ]

I have some good news for all of you. I am almost done working on the port, and I will be performing the attachment surgery at the end of the month. With some luck, I should be able to begin re-learning to walk with my automail leg soon.

Regarding that surgery... I was hoping to ask for your help with the healing process. It will still take time for me to get used to my new leg, but if you could help me heal from the surgery itself it may help to reduce that time significantly.

[ Giving them both brief apologetic glances, Adela can't help wanting to just disappear then. ]

[ She pinches the bridge of her nose because this just seems to be getting worse and worse the more they talk to each other. ]

... Angelo, I am sorry for the lack of warning for a guest coming to visit. However, I am finding it hard to believe that you have such poor manners that you would speak of Ace as if he were not even here.

[ After a beat Adela turns her gaze to Ace, a little less scrutinizing but... ]

Please be nice. He has been good to me and has been kind enough to take me in without asking for a thing in return while I cannot provide for myself, all right?

[ Now will you two behave? She can't help the thought, but she at least does keep it to herself. Seriously, it feels like they hate each other instantly, why even... ]

[He grabs the wad of money, but then sighs as he tries to calm himself down.]

I would be nice if you had informed me of things, Adela. Not only do you not tell me you're inviting someone over, you obviously let him raid my room and go through my things without my permission or even trying to stop him if my ruined socks are any indication. What if he was a thief pretending to be nice then pulled a weapon on you? Do you know how upset I would have been? Honestly.

[He then turns to Ace.] As for you, I'm apologizing for my rudeness only because I don't want Adela being more upset than she already is. However, if you plan on visiting us again please inform me beforehand. That's all I ask. And furthermore, if you keep that attitude up, I will kick you out of my apartment. Is that clear?

[yeah it's fine. Whatever. Don't yell at her. He payed you for your stupid socks what more do you want? He's not going to stand here and be looked down on and ordered around by the likes of you. Ace folded his arms.]

[ The desire to escape the situation is overwhelming. It's not helping that she's feeling more and more like she's being treated like a misbehaving child.

By now she's not looking at either of them, her eye twitching as she's starting to feel pinned down and at a loss for what to say. ]

[He's not yelling at her, he's being rather calm all things considered. He's just miffed that this is happening inside his apartment.]

I don't want to kick you out because you are Adela's friend. However, this is still part of my apartment. You can't just come in here any time you want. You're free to meet with her any where else all you want, but if you're coming into my apartment, you need to ask first. Now can you please actually be polite and civil about it?

[ She's going to get to her feet -- her foot, using the crutch to help her remain standing. Not that it helps because they're both so much taller than her, but still. ]

[He moves to help Adela, because that's what he does and has been doing for days now.]

[ That is a very hard sigh from her. Did he have to curse like that... ]

... Is this not just as much my apartment as it is yours? I have no intention of living her for nothing permanently, and if you wish for rent I do still have enough savings to help pay until I can work again.

[ She once again looks at Ace, trying to calm down and not be as visibly upset as she's been for most of the conversation when she looks back to Angelo. Admittedly she might still be a little sore over earlier but she is actually trying to act in the best way she can here. ]

If he were 'better behaved' he would not be Ace. As I have already told him, I would not change him - even more so when he is unwilling to. Just as I would not change you if you did not wish to.

[ Forgive her the stunned expression Ace, not because she's shocked at what he's saying... Well okay she is shocked, not at the outburst but him basically expressing exactly what she was trying to say. ]

[ Unfortunately it also feels like there's been a spark set to a powder keg in the room now. ]

[Now he's acting like he doesn't even give a shit and is being extremely cold.]

I was paying attention, but I'm not changing my mind. I won't have uninvited guests in the apartment because my name is on the documents and I am the owner who purchased this place out of my own pocket money. So while yes we share it, according to the law I'm the owner. She on the other hand is a temporary resident until I can help her back onto her feet. I care about her, I do. And I'm fine with her having her own space, but as I said before, my mind will not be changed. You can insult me all you want and be rude, though honestly I've been called worse. So go on, keep going. I want to hear more of what comes out of your mouth.

[ It's too late, he's already gone. She's left feeling hollow - no, maybe not hollow, but...

She takes a moment to sit on the bed, her head hanging as... She just doesn't want to talk about it or anything else anymore. Not after that. ]

[He needed time away from all of this to de-stress and give Adela her space.]

I'm going to Gale's for the rest of the evening and won't be back until tomorrow. If you want to take up your prince charming's offer and leave then I won't stop you. [He then lets out a soft sigh.] I also am giving you space for the time being to figure out what you want to do. There's plenty of food in the refrigerator and I've left things out for you to make yourself food if need be too. So until tomorrow, I'm also locking the front door behind me. Good night, Adela.

[And with that, he make his way to the front door and heading out to Gale's place for the rest of the evening.]

[ It had started as such a good day.

Once Angelo leaves, she just makes to close and lock the bedroom door and go back to her work desk, closing the shade of the window as well. Maybe working on her leg more will take away from how sick she feels. Or she could maybe just sleep. Anything to just end it already. ]
