[The video feed shakes slightly, before clearing to reveal a small dark-haired woman in turn-of-century garb. She lifts up the communication device and turns it about disdainfully, allowing it to show a bit of her surroundings in the Bay. At last returning to displaying herself once more. She starts out quietly, in a tone of musing to herself.]
Good heavens, these newfangled devices become odder each year.
[Her tone abruptly becomes crisp as she frowns sternly into the camera.]
Greetings. I have been made to understand that this odd device is the most efficient means of communication. I am Ms. Amelia Peabody. You may call me Amelia. I am a spinster of independent means, currently traveling for pleasure.
I had intended to embark on a voyage down the Nile today. However, if what I have been told is true, it seems that my plans have been unavoidably delayed.
I am not accustomed to my plans being unavoidably delayed.
Regardless, I am not one to waste time regretting the past. I have two questions. First, would anyone be willing to recommend a place of lodging in the city? And secondly, I wish to more fully understand the situation that has occurred. Who in this place considers themselves to be in charge? Is there an equivalent of a British Consulate?

As for your second question, well, if anyone were conceited enough to claim that, I wouldn't listen to them. We're all at the world's mercy, with all the pains and pleasures that entails. The nearest you might find for a leader is the CPU, which you can contact on your phone at anytime, thought that's something of a disinterested figurehead at best.

You could find a job, then try to see what you could afford and what's close to where you work.
The Employment Center and Schnee welcoming centers can help.
[ He gives addresses]
I heard no one in your home world would notice you gone.

My thanks for the information.
[Amelia frowns severely at the last. ]
That is a terribly rude thing to say.
[Even if it was partially true. ]
Video
You're welcome?
[ At first, he's a bit confused over why she called him rude. ]
My bad. I meant people back home would think you're still with them, like we're all in two places at once.

There are a few inns... [Which is unhelpful without more information which Airy doesn't have.] It's nice to meet you Amelia. My name is Airy. Well, that's my nickname. [She feels like this woman is leagues a head of her.]
Peabody is a cool last name.
[She is so awkward.]
Re: Video
[Amelia sighs. ] I shouldn't be surprised if a man was in charge. I find that kind of inefficiency rather typical of their gender.
[A rather common reaction to Amelia, unfortunately. She had the tendency of deciding on a course of action, and then running roughshod over anything that got in her way. ]
What has temperature to do with it? It is my family name.
Video
[Airy pauses for a second and squints at the video.]
I think there are both men and women in charge. [That's one of those things that Airy doesn't really pay attention too. In her mind people were people.]
Cool like rad, interesting, pretty, new.

[Airy is glad that she doesn't seem opposed to working.]
Re: Video

[She is sure there are people interested in learning other languages.]

[She flashes her a charming smile.]
There are many places in Genessia, Attleton, Nova City and Everglade. As well as many places to explore. There is a map provided with a list of Inn's so you can choose something to your liking.
We don't have people in charge in a traditional sense but there is a system of law and the guardian's fit into it. They are elected officials that are voted upon for each of the cities and are elected from those who've been taken here. Each town also has a mayor and its own governing force.
Video
That is something, indeed. Better than I expected, considering the state of things in my arrival at this bay.
Video
[Her smile remains in place as she continues.]
Is there anything else I can assist you with?

I've been told that there is a price to open such a doorway but having been whisked away from my home, I have no wish to return or see a copy of it here.
[Crystal hums softly, her fingers lightly playing with something off the camera.]
There is a system set up for those brought here to obtain jobs and housing. There are elections every six months for the government officials who are tasked with protecting each city. There are four main cities though there is a boundary that you should be aware of.
That's everything that immediately comes to mind.

[ Peabody is her given name, right? This youko that she might or might not be able to see doesn't mean anything bad. This time around, at least. ]
(completely normal human here. can't see him)
[Amelia felt more than a little offended at the question. And from someone who didn't even have the decency to show himself. ]

[ Which is where he had been before waking up here, fancy that. ]
There really doesn't seem to be anyone in charge, but each of the cities have guardians who are in charge of protecting it.
