[Takato smiles brightly into the camera. Right now, he was more genuinely happy that he had been in all the months he had lived in Genessia.]

Guess what! I finally found an archway that goes to the digital world. My digital world.

And I met someone I want everyone to meet.

[He aims the camera at the creature standing beside him, a large red dinosaur-like creature that stood nearly as tall as Takato.]

This is my best friend Guilmon.

Um, does anyone have some spare bread and peanut butter? He's a little hungry.

[Takato doesn't bother to mention that he'd gone running off into his digital world without bothering to tell anyone the moment it had opened. And that that was why he'd been missing for the last few days.]

Ah, is that what I think it is?

It's an alligator. It's pretty small though, sorry about that. [he says as he flops all six feet of it on the ground]

[but he'll hack off a leg for himself with the knife at his hip and then crouch and watch the dinosaur intently

[Takato and Guilmon stare at the alligator with nearly identical expressions of confusion. Guilmon had never eaten any meat that he couldn't grab up in one mouthful, and Takato had never seen an alligator before.]

[Ace blinks, confused at their confusion]

What's up?

Ah, sorry? But how do you eat it? Is it safe to eat the bones? Guilmon's never eaten anything but bread, peanut butter and fish. And that time at my cousins when he ran off with the plate of pickled pigs feet.

Oh no. So this is why he hasn't seen him at the Children's Home. Because he had enacted this.

Waves of guilt waved over him. Of course. Children were nearly always the first to succumb to these things. Why didn't he say anything? He should've warned him, or said something. Anything.

Hm! Hello there, to both of you. I also went to the Digital World and adopted a Digimon for myself, his name is Dracomon.

[dracomon is currently MIA at the bookstore she runs tho.]

I can spare some bread, but I'm afraid I don't have peanut butter. Are those his favorites?

Ah, this is a little hard to explain. But actually the Digital World I went to is a different Digital World. Hikari told me about hers, and I'm not sure how similar they are.

Mmm, My parents run a bakery at home and he likes to eat all the day old bread.

There are different realms of the Digital World? Fascinating. Do not worry about explaining, I already understand just fine. I am used to differing realms where I am from as well.

I see. Then I will definitely give away some bread- I realize your Digimon may also miss the days of being able to eat from a bakery whenever.

You'll have to introduce us sometime, then. I do admit to being curious about Digimon.

[ Especially since it was also a card game. ]

I wouldn't mind at all! Maybe we could show you how our cards work.

So what kind of digital world are we talking about here?

The Digital World. It's another world that's made out of data.

[She could have guessed that, but Dairine doesn't want to sound rude when she could potentially learn about another computer world.]

Yeah? Is it connected to Earth? Or is the Digital World a separate planet?

It is sort of attached to earth, I guess? But it isn't really a planet. Someone told me once that it grew out of the internet.

It grew? So no one programmed it?

Mr. Shibumi told me once that the digimon themselves started out as an artificial intelligence project. But when the project ended, they were left behind and escaped into the network. Over time they evolved into more intelligent and complicated creatures, and as they evolved the network evolved with them. Because more data kept getting transferred through it.
