( as soon as that introductory message pops up, recognition immediately sets, and neo is furious. she doesn't wait for the image of weiss schnee to even get more than a few words out before the device gets thrown to the ground, snapping it out of the tutorial and focusing on the multi-coloured girl it seems to belong to.

looking over and down on top of it with a glare, there's only a second more before a heel comes down onto the screen, intending to smash it, if she can manage it... )

( so the basic understanding of it was that she was trapped here... and with no sign of roman or cinder, she seemed to be left to her own devices. it could be worse, really, she could be off flying out into the wild blue yonder...

neopolitan scrunched up her nose as the passed through the fish markets, thoroughly unimpressed with the smells that were invading her nostrils and made her way to what almost seemed like familiar territory stopping when she actually recognized some of the landmarks.

[For a while Blake had avoided Fayren. But eventually, she realized that it was irrational and pointless. Bad things could happen anywhere. And Levy was brave enough to stay and go back to work, then Blake was brave enough to stroll to the fish market. She should probably pick up something for Yang with all she'd put the girl through. Maybe buy some alcohol, learn how to make that strawberry sunrise.

Then she spotted a familiar multi-colored criminal and froze. She wasn't sure if she wanted to deal with Neo right now. And weren't she and Torchwick confined to Nova City? What was the woman doing here? She ducked behind a stand, hoping she wasn't seen.

( hmm, was that something interesting neo caught out of the corner of her eye? either way, she didn't let it deter her. strolling along, she looked as though she didn't have a care in the world. she even stopped at some of the stalls as she made her way through the markets, leaning in, placing a finger on her chin as though contemplating a purchase... then turning to be on her merry way again.

but not before a well-placed kick knocked over a barrel of fish in her wake, with a smile aimed backwards as she continued on. )

[Blake's expression was one of disgust. Who would waste fish like that? She wasn't sure what Neo was up to per say, maybe she just planned on being a huge jerk to every vendor in Fayren, but Blake would tail her anyway. She reached for her device preparing to contact Weiss, then hesitated. She stowed it away. No. She didn't need anyone's help.

But so much for the agreement with Weiss. The cat faunus wasn't really all that surprised.

( well, she had hoped that would strike the right nerve if she had picked up a tail, but without any action to follow up, neo continued on. as she walked lazily through the streets she glanced back every now and again, picking up the pace of her steps, and starting to lace in and out of alleyways.

if she was going to be followed, she'd at least make it fun. )

[Blake had been shaking tails herself her whole life. She followed the shorter woman silently, hoping that this was going to go better than following Emerald had.

If she could find the right thing to climb on without making any noise then Neo wasn't shaking anyone. You could see everything better from rooftops. But scanning for the right place and not taking her eyes off of the girl was going to be a challenge.]

( and neo certainly wasn't going to make it easy.
she continues on her merry way, acting as though she still didn't have a care in the world, umbrella twirling at the handle on her arm.

seeing an opportunity, she ducked into a corner once she reached a less populated area, slipping into the shadows, making sure that she was seen by a certain someone.

come on, silly girl. don't you want to catch the bad guy? )

[It's more like she wants to find out why the bad buy is violating their terms with Weiss. Maybe after Battler, they had all decided it was open season since team RWBY had taken such a harsh blow.

And that idea pissed Blake off. Think again.

She hesitated a little at seeing Neo go into a shadowed area. Her heart pounded as though instinctively reacting to something unpleasant. A sadistic smile and Weiss's hopeless expression flashed through her mind. She gritted her teeth and plunged on anyway.]

[Oh. Roman's little girlfriend is back. Cipher's been disappointed with Roman's departure, so he might be a little annoyed that the girl is back but not the man himself. Oh well. Might as well make the best of it. A voice that sounds doubled and distorted will come from the videphone.]

So Torchwick's girl is back. How disappointing that it would return one yet not the other.

( the change of the voice from the heiress to an unrecognizable one halts neo mid-stomp, and she leans over to see the screen. certainly not anyone she knows, but he does have something interesting to say about roman, doesn't he?

so neo is just going to pick this little phone-device back up, and tilt her head to the side with interest.

[Yes hello, tiny girl. Cipher lets out an amused hum.]

I am afraid that I must be the bearer of bad news first- your companion Torchwick has recently departed this place.

But I suppose I should inquire before I continue- do you remember this place? If you are starting anew, I'm sure you would rather not hear the story from the Schnee princess.

( that's enough to garner a scowl. roman just recently departed? and without waiting for her? she didn't like that. she didn't like it even more when this man started saying things about remembering being here.

her eyes narrow in a questioning manner. there was a small shake of her head, her eyes unmoving from the screen. she both didn't remember, and didn't care to hear it from the princess of dust. )

[He should have figured. This world really was picky about who remembered their time here, and who didn't. Oh well.]

The short of the story is that you were brought here against your will, and now you - like the rest of us - are trapped here until the powers that govern this realm see fit to release us.

You are among those who had been here at a previous time, but apparently do not remember such. But we can say that Roman had the decency to leave you a gift should you have returned- that being that you are not a criminal if you decide to stay within the limits of the northern Nova City. Which is ironic, seeing that Nova City is governed by the Schnee girl.

[He'll leave out the part that it was thanks to him that Roman was even able to pull that off. No one needed to know of the 'agreement' that Roman had made with Cipher.]

But forgive me, it's rude of me not to offer my name. I am known simply as Cipher, a former 'associate' of Torchwick's. You are his right hand, Neo, correct?

I'd clap but you're like the 300th person to do that this year. I don't even get joy out of watching it anymore.

[ Plus they always replace it by the next day so Emerald doesn't find any joy in the hologram destruction anymore. She wishes she did. ]

( now that's a voice that will stop her in mid-stomp. she peers over the feed to see emerald, and tilts her head to the side. so, you got thrown into this place too, huh? although neo's expression remains mostly blank, she picks the device up off of the ground and looks at the other girl, as though waiting for some kind of explanation.

well, emerald? explain what's going on. preferably with the way home involved. )

[ Emerald watches her pick up the device on the video, rolling her eyes when Neo gives her that look. ]

Aren't you demanding? Welcome to the hell hole called Genessia. There's no room on Mercury's couch, I already claimed it, and Torchwick got sucked back home however that happens. Which means he's probably dead since last I heard he got eaten, sorry. Uh... you can have his lighter if you want?

[ What a comfort. Emerald is pretty much the opposite. ]

There's no way home from here on purpose as far as I know, and don't lose the little rock on a string or you can't go to the other cities. And yes, someone put the heiress in charge of one of them. The other people in charge are a telepath, a telepath with a billion other powers, a guy who claims he's in charge but really that vampire guy just kind of screwed the city over anyway, and someone I don't know who just got in office. Strangely, the heiress's city is the safest for us since you and Mercury got a get-out-of-jail free card as long as you don't murder anyone pretty much and I haven't been caught for anything yet.

[ That's the best summary she can come up with, she hopes it helped. ]
