[His eyes were more focused as he watched her, leaning in to see what she was doing when she touched the water and trying to move his head to get a better view. As bubbles began floating into the air, light and color dancing on them, a bright smile was brought to his face.]

[He wasn't particularly difficult to please. Really, he loved looking as pretty things like that. It looked like custom magic, like Hatter used to be flashy and entertain.]

[He paused to look around. He wanted to show her, but after his mishap with the trees he knew better than to cast magic around carelessly, lest he destroy a bunch of stuff. He didn't want to break her bubbles, but they were standing by the bay so there was a lot of water around in big open spaces.
Moving further to the side, he drew on some magic to show her. It was as natural to him as breathing, didn't take much thought beyond knowing what he wanted to use. Warm air seemed to gather around him for a moment, and then many yards ahead a waterspout grew from the water.
Some might find it pretty, in a way, but it was clear what it was meant to do. It looked like it would tear apart anyone or anything that happened to come near it. It was a wild torrent that whipped around dangerously, ready to do harm like most of his spells were.
Luckily, nothing was where he cast it, so nothing bad happened.
He looked back her way where, fortunately, the bubbles weren't being harmed, even if there did seem to be a mist of water spraying around from it. He smiled nervously.]
