[Video - Early Evening]
[A man glanced around and took shaky, shallow breaths, with eyes as wide as saucers. Behind him was some part of the forest in Fayren but, even in the coming evening gloom, it was apparent something had happened.

The trees were scorched, but there was no fire. They were drenched, but they weren't next to any apparent water. And, on top of that, something had ripped through some of them and torn a few in half.

Bracken was unscathed even if he looked alarmed. He clung to his staff like he needed it to live, and otherwise had some plain looking but clean robes. The only notable thing would be the necklace tied to his belt, rather than placed around his neck.]

H-Help! A, A little girl is after m-me!

[His voice was tense and manic with fear.]

[Action - Fayren]
[Bracken wasn't particularly hiding. Anyone could stumble up on him if they wanted.

They wouldn't find any little girls anywhere. She didn't exist. The damage done to that piece of the forest, however, was very real, and was only around the area that Bracken was standing.

Rather than introducing himself, he had managed to find an area that looked most familiar to him and wandered there. And there was no reason to stop him - he was quiet and wasn't causing any trouble. But after meandering into the forest for a while, well, somehow this had come about...]

Oh no! Ted was a credible sort who'd believe most anything, especially in Fayren.

"Quick, press the emergency button on your device! That'll alert the Guardians. Or the ping! That'll alert me, and I'll lend my aid!"

He looked at his device. He understood stuff like phones and computers well enough, somehow, despite his looks, but he wasn't sure about all of the functions yet. He'd only kind of sort of taken in the information.

"Wh-Which one... Which one is the ping...?" he asked as he clearly studied it, eyes scanning from one option to the next slowly.

[He listened well enough and pressed exactly what he said.]

"I... I could stay here, if that h-helps..."

[It wasn't like he knew any other place to go, and he didn't know the rules of the area that could put him in danger when it became night. Thankfully this very nice man seemed to be willing to help him. That made him feel a bit better, even if he was worried that the little girl might pop up out of nowhere again.

He stood in place, keeping a wary eye on the kind of destroyed surroundings.]

"It would, though it's rather your help that concerns. Whether at peace or in motion, I'll be sure to find you eventually." Unless he's trapped in a maze or something. Then he's done for.

[ooc: are you talking about the rule where humans are allowed to be hunted at night? That's in Everglade. Otherwise, proceed!]

By now Ted's pushed his 2-star uniform quite a bit, and his top-speed isn't quite at its peak. Still, his sprint was still superhuman, and it shouldn't take him longer than ten minutes to cross from Genessia City into Fayren. Of course, if he's in the latter's expansive wilderness, he might have to sit tight for a spell.

[looks around at the kind of blown apart forest. Woah. What had happened here? Looked like some kind of fight. He turns around in place, absently clutching the boar he's got slung over his shoulder and whistles low.

Finally he spots the guy]

[His first reaction was to flinch and hold his staff up like he was going to shield himself with it, but after a second he realized this guy wasn't a scary girl. So he peeked.

Who was he?]

H... Hello.

[He stayed in place, guarded, and answered timidly.]

Ah. [well this guy looks scared shitless. So may as well be polite] Portgas D. Ace. [bow.] Nice to meet you.

[straightens] What the hell happened here?

[He very much was. But, Ace seemed nice, and he didn't see the little girl around. At the very least he wasn't alone, which made him feel better.]

B-Bracken.

[He hesitated, but after a second gave a small bow, copying him.

At the question, his eyes wandered behind him. He wasn't even positive what happened himself...]

I... I came here, to... to try and teleport home. But, I got tired, so...

[His eyes fell to a spot where he'd been sitting.]

I sat down to m, meditate over there. But... But then...

[Here's where things got confusing. He wasn't sure how to explain it. It didn't add up.]

A scary girl ch-chased me... And I ran, but, then... S-Somehow... I was back in that spot, and it was d-darker?

[He was obviously really struggling to put together these facts. He had no idea how he went from being chased by a little girl to being exactly where he'd been sitting again. How was it possible?]

[... nope Ace doesn't get it. But it doesn't matter. He's not entirely sure about little girls being scary either but what does he know. That also doesn't explain what happened here but maybe it's just a mystery]

Haven't seen any girls around... [shrug] Want to share some boar?

[eating might cheer him up]

[He thinks that's a pretty good explanation, anyway. It explains absolutely nothing about what happened behind him, but he was way more concerned about the girl than that.]

[She knows that Fayren can be unsafe and judging by the trees that’s definitely Fayren.]

[It was all so vague and blurry and terrifying. His memory was hazy at best at the moment.]

I-Is Genessia the one, the one that looks like another world?

[Fayren seemed more comforting to him. It looked a bit like home.]

[He glanced around, but his plan had been to come out here and teleport home. He hadn't really planned on going back.]

[She was very horror movie kid scary to him. He had no problem dealing with monsters, but somehow she was just way more unsettling, and he felt helpless to do anything about her.]
