[Introspection]

[Waking up in a strange place... isn't as odd the second time it happens, but it's still something Utena can live without. Despite this, she can safely say she'd take waking up feeling like she's overslept over her back hurting due to wings that shouldn't be there. Speaking of which, she's going to go ahead and assume that those aren't there anymore.

Still, she should be home. She's certain she left Luceti, her destination being back to Ohtori. Ohtori, where she feels she needs to be more than ever. She learned a lot while in Luceti, including the truth. The real reason for her desire to become a prince. Even if she wouldn't have remembered any of it upon returning to Ohtori, she had still hoped...

Well, there's nothing she can do about it, is there? Sitting here feeling sorry for herself isn't an option, either. Another strange new world has pulled her to it, and she just has to do her best to live in it for now. Besides, while she hadn't been in Luceti, maybe Himemiya's here.

Keeping that in mind, Utena makes her way out of the bay with everything she found on her person upon waking up. The necklace is already around her neck, despite how much she doesn't want it to be.

But hey, at least it's warmer here than it had been in Luceti when she first arrived there. It's the little things.]

Hello? Is this thing working? ...huh, looks like it is. [She looks impressed -- this thing is nothing like the journals from Luceti. In fact, those things have nothing on this!] Guess I should introduce myself, then. I'm Utena Tenjou. Nice to meet you all, even if it's like this. Then again, it's not exactly the first time I've had to deal with something like this...

...err, but it is the first time where not everything's free. Where's a good place for a student to work? I mean, I've actually been gone from my world for several years, but I'm pretty sure I still only count as an eighth grader when all's said and done. I'm not going to be picky with what I can get, though -- anything's better than living on the streets. If it helps any, I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty or anything like that!

Also, if anyone's seen a girl named Anthy Himemiya, could you point her in my direction? She's... a very dear friend of mine, and I'd be really happy to know that she's okay.

As for work, might I suggest something temporary? [He sends a link of the window washing job.]

It'll do for a couple of weeks, at least, and it would be so noble to dirty your hands to clean the panes for every patron. Cleanliness is next to godliness, after all.

[Lenalee smiled slightly, she was still getting use to this place and was currently sitting in the inn.]

A good place for a student to work? I've been looking for work myself, but so far the offers tend to be very basic, like cashier, coffee server. Things like that.

If you're looking for a job, I run a bookstore in Everglade that needs employees. It's a small cute store and you're welcome to request books to stock if you want to keep studying. It'd be customer service mostly, the other person working there doesn't like talking to people so much.

[She smiles.]

[Well... that was odd. Mewtwo is just going to take a moment to blink. Usually the first thing people react to is his appearance. She would be one to keep an eye on out of sheer curiosity. Either she's familiar with Pokemon, or just... doesn't care, and if the former few knew what he looked like and most would be shocked to hear a Pokemon speak...]

It is an option, nothing more. You may attend school and receive allowances, or you may seek employment. You are free to make whatever choice you want, though there is no real concept of a 'fair share' here. We are not a cohesive unit working toward a singular goal, but a collection of individuals making the best of the situation presented to us.

Well it's in Everglade. Right now Everglade has a curfew. Those who are out after dark might be attacked.

Of course the store isn't open then and there is a spare room in the back in case employees don't feel safe walking home but I'd never hire someone without explaining the situation.

If you're still interested you're welcome to work and manage the store. I stop by all the locations to double check stock and do orders. I can also find books per your selections too.

It is at least a good start anyway, until you find what you really want to do. But sometimes it takes a while to figure that out.

[Jeez, isn't that a little extreme? It sounds less dangerous than some of the stuff she had to deal with back in Luceti, but still!]

It's up to you. It's a political thing and I think it'll change but for right now it's better to be safe.

[It's more that she's seen just as many "unusual" things both in Luceti and back home. Besides, Chu Chu could probably be qualified as something you don't see every day, and she's more than used to Himemiya's "friend"... even if she hasn't seen either of them in forever.]

So we're just supposed to live our lives normally, then. [That beats having to worry about drafts at least, like she had to in Luceti. Still...] I guess I'll think about it for a little longer.

No, that's not it. I mean, it still beats some of the other stuff that happened in the last place I was in.

[Window washing isn't exactly ideal, but it's a lot better than being drafted to fight. Real battles are nothing like duels, something that shook Utena to the core to find out.]

I can't say I really get any political stuff, but it's also not like I haven't been in danger before. Besides, a job's a job, right?
