[Action/Video] Arrival at the Bay

[Action]

[This can't be happening! Lost in some foreign land and no way to call her friends or family. There must be a payphone or something around to call home. Before she got far, she encountered the hologram calling itself 'Weiss Schnee.' While Weiss was very pretty, all of that was completely forgotten when she said they were now in a entirely different world from her own and with no way to go home.

Sakura was doing her best not to panic, telling herself everything is going to be all right. She puts her shoes back on checks the contents of the box. First the brochures were read, very unsettling, then followed the instructions to work this videophone.]

"Hello? Is this working? I'm Sakura Kinomoto, and I think I'm lost. I'm from Tomoeda, Japan. I listened to Miss Weiss Schnee, about being in another world... T-This isn't some sort of joke, is it?"

Welcome, Ms. Sakura. A question: if you are lost, where did you mean to go? In any case, you are not utterly lost; I, for example, know exactly where to find you.

As to whether this is a comic place, I can only say definitively: "sometimes". If it is a joke, it is very elaborate, for the punchline has been a long time coming. If it means to be funny, then it has a complex and ingenious sense of humor.

Hello there, Sakura-chan

[And already saying that was so. Really. Weird when it was not Sakura he knew.]

This isn't Tokyo anymore. You're a long way from home.

[He gets that a lot.]

Mm, but is that because it's a poor joke, or because you've no taste for it? It's funny--in a queer, not humorous, way--how out of all the reactions to arrival, none that I've seen express humor. Shock, bewilderment, wonder, even sorrow, but not so much as a chuckle. Perhaps you're right: it isn't funny.

But it might prove a relief. From what I hear, Japanese schools are very strict. You may as well enjoy the sudden holiday. Anything you want to know or do with this fresh and startling liberty?

[Sakura, he is disappoint]

Ted may have been too cheery in responding. "Nothing so far! I believe this world, Genessia, needs something of us; indeed, we may need something from it. Let us not leave the field trip till we've seen, learned, and done all we need."

I'm afraid not.

[ Konoka's face is at first a picture of sympathetic understanding. Though once she sees Sakura, she blinked. Hadn't she seen this girl before... albeit older? She does look even more adorable now. ]

The best thing to do is find a good place to live, as we're stuck here.

Well, there are still schools to go to, and doubtless many chores to do. Nothing need cease in those departments. As for your family, you can take it on faith that, in the best way possible, you are not missed.

As for what you have: clow cards life. Or the meaning thereof; it's all very philosophical. This world isn't as creative as others, and needs to borrow, or copy.

Please hang in there! Life here isn't that bad at all!

[ Konoka couldn't stand to see someone feel that miserable. She'd have to do everything in her power to help her out! ]

Have you met a Yukiko Amagi-han? She has a very nice inn you can stay at while you figure out where to go.

"I believe you. So believe me when I say it's not so horrible as you suppose. This might be a hard concept for one so young to grasp, but have you ever heard of or read a story where the way time passed in one world is entirely separate from the way it does in another? One might spend a century in one, only to return to another where only a moment elapsed. This world, I believe, is like that."

It feels like it should be one, doesn't it?

[though he looks and sound mild as he says this. Also his face is streaked with fingerpaint. Don't mind him]

What grade would you happen to be in?

"Yes, that's my best guess. Probably a few others', too. But even if time wasn't favorable, I can't see that there's any point in worrying about it one way or the other."

"No, not necessarily. Good spirit! One can do no more than grow where one's planted, eh? Speaking of which, have you found a suitable pot? I'm not sure even cherry blossom trees will flourish in The Bay. I've got a suggestion if you don't."

Good, you were told truly. However, there's a place that's been set up for free called the K&H home for children. That's usually the place we send you to. I'd be happy to escort you there myself, if you like.

Good!

[ Konoka calms her voice, talking in a slightly more soothing manner. ]

Once you're feeling better, I think there's a school for kids you can attend!
