That's not sneaky | [Closed]
Who: Amberdrake & Sanzo
What: Sanzo is dumb about something and they talk. Idk.
Where: Hotel room
When: Mid July
Warnings: N/a but there will probably be angst
It had been a less than welcoming couple of weeks. Sanzo was already set on this place being horrible and wanting nothing to do with it! His pessimism and grumpy nature didn't made groceries any less necessary, so he had bags in his left hand as he made his way to their hotel room. His right hand was at his side, still stinging from the burn it received earlier. It would be his luck for him to stop taking the birds along to stem the harassment they attracted, to end up harassed anyways! And injured too. Even if it was just a small burn, Amberdrake wouldn't be pleased. Sanzo had done his best to wrap it up and hoped the healer would pretend he didn't notice it.
Sanzo knew it was fruitless to think he might hide it from Drake all together, but maybe there wouldn't be a fuss about it...? He resigned himself to that being highly unlikely and opened the door.

He took Sanzo's hand in his much gentler ones and let his vision go unfocused as the Healing Gift threaded in. "It's something we have in common, honestly. My trouble just tends to involve less physical violence... usually."
Drake numbed the area and put a stop to the ongoing damage almost all burns came with, halting it in its tracks. Then came the repair, re-directing energy and fluids and fueling the natural healing process with his own power. Thus amplified, days of normal healing took place in a matter of moments.

"Those birds have been bringing me most of the trouble here." He shot the birds, most of them snoozing on their perches, a mean look. Those that were awake peered back at him, totally innocent. "Anything loud and obnoxious is still drawn to me."
Sanzo's threshold for both 'loud' and 'obnoxious' was pitifully low.

Though at least they were well past the danger of the bones crumbling. Drake had reinforced them, first. It had taken a while, but he'd done it right.
"The birds like you because they have good taste," Amberdrake smiled a little as he worked. "And they're actually tiny Empaths themselves, so they know you like them, too. Don't worry," he couldn't resist a gentle tease, "I won't tell anyone."

"They're trouble," he grumbled, avoiding the taunt the best he could. "I could have gone without meeting the jackasses they kept finding. Everyone wants to talk because of the damn birds."

"Meeting assholes that bother me isn't that great." He huffed. "I'm not sure if it counted as a someone or a something but one of them was tempting fate. Shit self preservation and sense of humor. It looked idiotic as well."

He still wished he had shot the thing, it was lucky it couldn't really talk, at least not in a way he understood. Adding a voice to the mix would have been dangerous for Sanzo's temper. His temper that may or may not be somewhat soothed by contact with Drake, but he didn't dwell much on that.
"Its owner was a moron, in more ways than one." Sanzo wasn't entirely sure that conversation had really happened or not. "He had some funny ideas about what I should do with my time."

"Yes," he replied, blunt but still confused by that whole ordeal. It was surreal enough to be stuck on another world without all this... "He wouldn't drop it until he left and that was after I nearly shot his pet."

As for having kids? The birds were close enough to children for Sanzo's sensibilities, clearly. And there was Goku, but Drake wasn't going to bring him up. It still wasn't the same as settling down with 'the right woman' and having children with her.

"There's a lot of freaks around here, the birds find every damn one of them." One of the birds murmured something sleepily, as if trying to contribute to the conversation. It promptly feel back asleep.

Where had Drake heard that suggestion, before?

"It sounds like he has a brain between his ears." He wasn't ruffled by that last comment, he still thought Drake could use a guard. If anything to soothe his own anxiety about Drake's safety.

"If he can do something like that he's already suited to the job," Sanzo commented nonchalantly. Who was obviously worried for Amberdrake's safety? Not him, surely. "Is he actually trustworthy?"

Not that Drake needed much prompting to help others. Sanzo felt he should be grateful for that, it had served him well, whether he liked it or not. He was appreciative of Drake's openly kind nature, even if it frustrated him.

"Is he the type to accept you being a busybody or are you going to trick him into help?" 'Like me' went unsaid. Sanzo's words weren't malicious. While not teasing in tone, he had meant that in a light-hearted way and his mood was content rather than actually critical.

"I'm... not actually sure yet," he said, slowly with some thought, "maybe a bit of both, depending on the topic. He readily accepted that I could stabilize or even Heal his brain if needed, which is certainly a good thing. Looking at him with the Gift was so bizarre..."
