001 TEXT
[Corbin has survived for more than a hundred years by existing along the margins of society. In fact, it's only recently, within the last 20 years, that he's decided to make a name for himself back home, a decision he has very recently decided was generally a bad idea. By and large, when the Geoarchaeological Professor awoke in the Bay a few days ago, he decided it best not to immediately make his presence known. Instead, he gleaned what information he could from the pamphlets and from the disturbingly Oz-like welcome hologram and got himself settled in as best he could. He knew, of course, that he couldn't hide in this place forever, which was what ultimately prompted this post today.]
I suppose it's time for me to "come out of the closet" as it were. I can assure you this has nothing to do with my sexuality, but rather with my appearance in this city, Genessia, which, through exploration, I've determined resembles a rather large gerbil cage.
As disturbing as that is, I'll not dwell on it at the moment. In the spirit of fairness and as a show of goodwill, I'll even go so far as to introduce myself without first being introduced to you. I am Professor Corbin Fitzmarcus of the Imperial College, London. I'm a Professor of Geoarchaeology. Bully if that means anything to you. If it does not, suffice to say I'm very good with rocks.
While I'm beginning to develop my own theories about this place, I'd like to hear yours, if I may. I wager if you've been here a while, you may sound as through you need an aluminum hat, but we'll see.

Where are you in this hamster wheel, Terrance?
text; private
Right now I'm at the park in Genessia.

Stay put. I believe it may be best we stick together for the time being.

[When Corbin arrives Terrance will be smoking on the park bench. The embers grow brighter before he flicks the bud away. He needs to find a place to buy more tobacco.]

(OOC: Switch to action?)
switch to action;!
He doesn't want to stop even if he isn't at Stonehedge anymore.
He waits like a good boy on his park bench. He's only spent a few nights there, spending other nights on Tony's couch. He dislikes the idea of having a 'home' even if it's a temporary one. On site he'd live in a tent and at campus he slept in a dorm. Never once had he considered those places home.]
action;
He comes close enough to speak, crossing his arms as he does so.]
I know they've given you enough money to afford a comb.
action;
Good to see you too.
[He doesn't like brushing his hair, which Corbin knows.]
action;
Have you been sleeping here?
action;
Sometimes.
[Sometimes he crashes on a weird guys couch. It varies.]
Why's it matter?
action;
Why would it not? You're the most brilliant graduate student I've ever had the pleasure of sponsoring.
[He says, in a moment of rare affection.]
You rate higher than a park bench.
action;
If you insist.
[It's all he can think to say though he realizes that his professors comment had just made him happy.]
Where do you suggest we go?

[Terrance will a agree that the heat is hell but after a while it stops bothering him. He should really have a glass of water.]
action;
So, how long have you been here, Terrance?
action;
[At least according to the phone he'd woken up with.]
And you?
action;
[He wouldn't expect anything but accuracy from his favorite student.]
action;
All right then, judging from others who've arrived there isn't any consistency. Though I'll need a bigger sample and more time to prove that.
[He shoves his hands into his pockets and follows along behind Corbin.]
I found a way to continue my thesis here.
[He doesn't know how the older man will feel about continuing but he could use the help.]
action;
[He'd have expected no less from the boy.]
It would seem all worlds are similar in at least one aspect.
action;
I got a job.
[He continues, not seeing a need to comment on the fact that there are rocks everywhere.]
It's in Nova City.
action;
action;
[It's some sort of research.]
action;
[It wasn't a question.]
It what end?
action;
I'll let you know when I find out. I figured while I was there I'd rebuild the equipment too.
