[ Jack springs up from his little pod like a rocket, and he takes takes a deep breath of air. It feels like he was dead, but he notices that his clothes aren't tattered, torn, nor does he notice any blood. That is if he wasn't tossed out into the vacuum of space after he spent the previous night at a distant hotel somewhere in the horse head nebula.

His hands can be seen gripping the metal cocoon that he is sitting in, and he slowly tries to take in everything. Kidnapped? That seems to be a good explanation for this. Kidnapped and left for dead. And then he looks up to spot the camera that is in the room with him. ]

Okay, the joke is up. Heh. This is cute guys. [ Jack slowly pulls himself up into a sitting position, and he keeps his eyes on the camera. ] Now what was the reason for stuffing me in there and leaving me for dead?

Because I was being honest about having nothing to do with that power crystal going missing! In fact, I was going to go help you find it! [ He shouts out. ] Or is this your idea of a fun night, because really, I am not that kind of guy.

Power Crystal?

[Airy blinks at the video, unsure what this guy is talking about.]

Are you okay?

[ Jack just stares at the camera, and he looks at her with a scowl on his face. ]

I woke up and found myself stuffed into a thing. Now what do you think? [ And he leaves any conversation about the crystal be for now. ]

Ah... sorry.

[It’s isn't he fault but she feels bad all the same.]

I woke up here a similar way. I can't tell you how but there is information about this place there.

[ Jack looks down to see a wooden box in the cocoon with him, which he didn't notice at first. He quickly opens it, and he looks at the items inside of it. ]

I can understand people not understanding how. But I would hope there is an explanation as to why we are here.

[ He pockets the phone and the money, and he grabs hold of the pamphlet and he skims through it quickly. And like the phone and money, it eventually finds itself in his pocket. ]

[Airy exhales a slow breath looking as if she just stepped on a thumb tack.]

No, I don't know why and if someone does know they aren't sharing.

[She's like the barer of bad news and she doesn't like it.]

[ Jack steps out from the cocoon and he can be seen stretching himself out. His eyes wander down towards the liquid that he is stepping in before his attention from the camera. A smile begins to cross his face, as he stands there with his hands hanging at his sides. ]

Well I have always been a fan of a great big mystery.

Then you might be a fan of this place.

[She relaxes, a smile touching her lips. She is happy to see his smile, at least he isn't too upset and who knows, maybe he can find out more.]

Oh, I don't know if I told you. I'm Airy.

I'm starting to like it already.

[ Jack says with a friendly or is it a flirty wink. ]

And nice to meet you, Airy. And the name's Captain Jack Harkness, and I here is hoping that I can be of help.

[ Or this place might be a nice change of pace for once. And perhaps it is something he deserves after all that has happened to him during the past decade. ]

And I am very much looking forward to meeting you.

[Airy smiles at him, her teeth digging into her bottom lip to stop her smile from growing to wide.]

Captain of what?

[She can't help but be curious.]

Wait... meeting me?

[She has a lot of questions but Airy doesn't consider herself particularly special.]

[ Jack can't help but to laugh. ]

Many things Airy. [ And he raises an eyebrow at her other question. ] What doesn't anyone like face-to-face conversations anymore? But I'm new, and sitting in a room looking at the same walls isn't my idea of fun.

Ah, no. I mean, yes... wait.

[She has to back up.]

Talking face to face is definitely better.

How about one of these many things?

[Her smile widens.]

I just want to know one. It can even be a silly one or are you just the captain of being captain of things?

[Airy's going to confuse herself if she keeps this up.]

[It isn't anonymous but the name will read Mr.Smith instead of Terrance's real name.]

You should get up and say hello to the cute but horribly inappropriately young hologram or you can sit there and continue to look like an idiot.

[Terrance is skilled at finding names using the phones. Computers are easier to deal with than people.]

You're doing a good job of it so far. I think anything at this point might prove to be impressive.

I've been told I need to work on by beside manner. Who knows, maybe you're special.

[ a pause. then a shrug. ]

F-Y-I, this is all time shenanigans. You're on another planet in another universe that's not chronologically aligned. Blah blah blah... Don't worry about it. You're not the time guy here. Point is. You got away with crystal theivery or whatever and the prank is totally on everyone else too.

I just told you that I don't...

[ Jack slumps back into the cocoon. ]

Wait so someone kidnaps people just for the sheer fun of kidnapping people. Okay, I suppose I can get behind the idea of this. [ And the fact he has a crystal poking him in the back, so this prompts Jack to get his feet and step out of the cocoon. ]

So, is this a prison for people who also commit crystal thievery?

Yes. This prison is specifically catered to that very specific crime that only you here have committed.

If that's the case, I'd like a better cell. Preferably one that doesn't have some strange liquid on the floor.

[ marco holds device close, then too far out, then close again— then at just the right distance. is he doing this right? ]

It is doubtful that you were sent here by those means. [ his accent is thick, very obviously italian. ] Your acquaintances likely are innocent of having any part in this deed.

[ Jack has since made his way out to Nova City as what he is found about the information he was given. And he has his phone, and if there is one thing about 21st century Earth technology that he loves it is phones with cameras.

And at the sound of the accent, Jack instantly smiles. ] I've been finding that part out. And I just hope there is some effort to try, and figure out what the purpose of us being here is.

[ It isn't as if Jack was doing anything constructive prior to his arrival. ]

I have been told that there are those who have made it their mission to find a way out of here.

[ who those people are, he can't say. marco isn't that far up on the ladder; he's slipped back down to the bottommost rung after having the khan's ear and a valued voice in court. carrying the khan's seal does nothing for him here. it's maddening. ]

And I'm more than happy to help them. Or unless this place is proving to be beneficial for those who are here for some reason.

[ Jack looks down at the camera in his hand, as he starts to walk out towards one of the archways that will take him to one of the cities. And much like the young man he is talking with, Jack is currently nowhere on the ladder. Though he has plans to change that once he has a chance to do so. ]

So, what else is there about this place other than what has been told to us? Find a place to live and a way to make a living.

I cannot speak in regards to those currently living here. However, we are expected to find housing and a way of earning means for food. There are temporary establishments to tide one over until proper quarters can be secured, and a welcoming center which assists newcomers in finding homes and placing them into occupations.

[ a place he has yet to visit. marco retreated from the more technologically advanced areas of genessia first chance he got. his curiosity and thirst for knowledge will eventually lead him back to those regions, but it was far too overwhelming at first. ]

I read about the temporary living arrangements. [ Jack stops walking, so this means the phone stops bouncing about. ] And having to find a job. [ He mentions the other with a mock groan. ]

At least it shouldn't be something that will be too hard to deal with. And trust me, I've had to deal with worse situations than this one. [ He's still not happy about the kidnapping, and wants to get down to the reasoning behind it. ]

[ marco does not mind having to earn his keep. he did the same within the khan's court, albeit in much — much — higher standing than he would have here. ]

What is worse than finding yourself whisked away to another world without your permission?

If this was meant to go to only certain people, you didn't private it so well.

[At least in his mind anyway.]

I was hoping it would go to anyone who was interested.

Well I can at east say this isn't a joke. If it was it's a very bad one.
