[ The mayor of Everglade looks a little confused when he comes on this anonymously-sourced video, but he seems compliant. After all, the person who told him to do this in the first place had been the one to give him the orders- at least, that's what he'd been brought to believe. He coughs to get himself prepared to speak, looking rather mayoral as he does. ]
"Citizens of Everglade, welcome. I come to you today to announce that the Mayor's Office has finally decided that our City Guardian has proven himself to be a worthy protector. The new laws in the city were set to protect the needs of our citizens but also hurt those who may have become. While the mayor's office does not grant legislature abilities to the City Guardian's office, we will be revoking the night curfew. Humans will be allowed out after dark. This is not a promise of safety, as many creatures of the night still need to eat. Any human would say the same of a cow or a chicken, but murder for sport or pleasure will no longer be exempt by the laws of Everglade. Any and all murder by humans will be tried and found acceptable if only for self-defense, not for vengeance or the pleasure of the hunt. This includes those who do not have homes, and all who are considered street urchins-- previously considered street urchins will be afforded basic respect regardless of species. If it is evident that a person is living on the street, they are not to be hunted as they may not have the means to protect themselves. Furthermore, as many have been prosecuted under false laws of the past, current criminals shall all be released and their records cleansed within Everglade. Let us have a new start together."
[ People wanted the curfew lifted, these are the new rules. Humans can still be hunted for food but they have the right to defend themselves if they are, homeless people get some protection, and all the criminals go free. Which means all the serial killers are out too but eh, you reap what you sow, Everglade. Good luck. ]
