Mark II | can't you hear that boom badoom boom boom badoom
Who: Tony Stark & Lucan Savir
What: Bounty hunting Professor Boom
When: August 1st
Where: Nova City to start, who knows where this will go
[ All things in consideration, the bit about good old Professor Boom in the latest newspaper had caught Tony's eye pretty damn fast. He'd yet to take a stab at any of the bounties previously listed because he hadn't gotten the time to work on even the most rudimentary basis of an Iron Man suit between fulfilling his obligation to Bucky and Weiss' intensive custom order, but whoever this guy was he was a threat and not just to him. He needed to be put down and taken in. There were plenty of established tech businesses that served as excellent targets and Tony wasn't all that keen on the idea of any of them taking a hit.
Normally this kind of thing would have been an easy fix, a simple detour in the endless list of things he had to do on the regular, but as things stood he knew taking the bounty on by himself would have been a great way to ask for trouble. His own shop was too new to serve as a probable target, but bringing Clayton aka his only current security along wasn't an option on the off chance that Mr. Boomshakalaka didn't mind making an extra stop on his way to the bigger guys. Hikaru had deputy business to attend to and combat wasn't exactly in Airy's contract, so despite only recently meeting the guy Savir seemed like a pretty solid option.
Getting through to him with texting had taken a while, but roping him into the situation hadn't taken as much persuasion as he'd anticipated. The plan had been to meet near the entrance of Nova City and discuss strategy from there, so once Savir managed to get his ass to the right location he'd find Tony waiting. He was also sending him texts every five minutes to make sure he hadn't wandered into another dimension or something. ]

so when tony — likely the most interesting person he has spoken to thus far in his short time in genessia — offers a partnership to track said man down, savir agrees and makes his way toward the meeting place. despite tony's lack of faith in his navigational abilities, he only gets lost once along the way.
if tony expected him to be anything besides a massive beast of a cat-man, then he is sure to be disappointed. not only is his size intimidating on its own, but he's also wearing a broadsword on his back and a few other, significantly smaller, knives attached to a belt at his hip. you know, just in case. ]
I hope I have not kept you waiting long.

Has anyone ever told you that you're incredibly tall? I feel like an ant looking for the top of a skyscraper right now. Am I Iron Man or Ant-Man? I no longer know.
[ After a moment longer he slid his phone into a free pocket and removed his sunglasses so he could look the much larger man in the eyes. Tony was still taking in details that he'd not noticed during their video conversation, but he at least offered his hand to shake. ]
Kind of curious regarding the story behind all that gear you're decked out with, Meow Mix.
[ For the moment all Tony had on him was a discreetly hidden defensive weapon so he was relieved to see that Savir had brought the sharp things. ]

I have heard it said a few times. [ more than once here in the short time since his arrival. apparently people weren't used to giant cat-men around these parts.
savir takes the offered hand, shakes it, and bows at the same time in a ridiculous gesture of greeting. ]
Meow Mix? [ he doesn't understand that reference. ] Mm. They are weapons I, luckily, carried with me on my journey here, it would seem. If you are questioning whether or not I know how to use them properly — rest assured, I am well trained, as all Vestavian Knights are.

[ Savir's grip was as strong as he had expected, so he didn't hold back on keeping his firm as well. The bow made him raise his eyebrows and put his fist to his face to stifle his laughter. ]
My god. [ A small chuckle escaped along with his words. ] Do you do that to everyone? Don't worry about the reference, pal. You'll catch on fast. I'll give you a hint just this once and tell you that Meow Mix is something people feed cats. It's cat food. Since you're a cat.
[ Sure, he wasn't a cat, but it was the best source he had for flippant nicknames. ]
Wasn't worried about you knowing how to use them. Was banking on it, really. [ He paused. ] You're a knight?

[ that was definitely a joke, but the look in savir's eyes says that, if tony really wanted him to, he would totally do it. ]
Do what? Bow? Yes. [ don't be weird about it, tony. he doesn't bother correcting him on the name of his species, and the fact that he isn't actually a cat. instead, savir just nods, both in acknowledgement of the explanation on meow mix, and the question of his knighthood. ]
Was. [ he corrects, rolling his shoulders. ] Since retired, but I see no reason to relinquish my blade just yet. [ he'll stop being a knight when he's dead. ] At any rate, have you found any clues on the location of our target?
no subject
[ That look in his eyes was weirding Tony out. ]
Okay, whatever. If bowing is your thing then it's your thing. [ He casually threw his arms up in a shrug. ] People who retire almost never stay retired, y'know. I'd ask if having nothing to do was boring but considering you're here and about to go kick some guy's ass with me I'm gonna assume that in your case that isn't applicable.
[ Anyway. Back to business. Tony pulled out his phone again to show a virtual map of Nova City that he'd programmed into the system. Hadn't been all that hard. There were several large markers to show importance of specific locations while smaller markers highlighted lesser areas. ]
Since this guy has a beef with tech companies I'm 99.9% sure he's got plans to hit up somewhere in this city. Places likely to fall under attack are the bigger markers here. The smaller blips are places that don't have a huge rep yet, mine included. I've got a guy who can hold the home front but I don't see why going for smaller places when the big ones would be way more worth the effort.
[ He kind of hated admitting that his wasn't one of the bigger businesses, honestly. Back home no one had been able to rival him and now he was a relative nobody. It was unpleasant to get used to. ]
I've heard some whispers about events going down at Aster Technologies before I got here so I'm thinking that may be our biggest lead. The Genessia Scientific Research Foundation is another possible target, but with the consideration that Boom Boom is more likely to strike in an area where technology is concentrated I'm not too worried about them.

Were he to attack the smaller locations, it would likely be only a distraction from the larger targets. [ he muses idly, scratching at his chin. ] From the sound of things, we should make haste to Aster Technologies. Do we intend to capture him alive, or dead?
no subject
[ Said the hypocrite. ]
Sounds like he's working alone though. Making distractions would take too much time and effort and put his risk of being caught at a higher percentage.
[ Tony looked up from the device to Savir as he pocketed it, though he kept it on for quick reference if they needed it. If they needed to go somewhere fast it would be easier to show than tell. ]
Death penalty is illegal in Nova City, pal. [ He went to instinctually give him a pat on the shoulder, but changed his mind midway and awkward performed the action on a lower part of his arm instead. He cleared his throat uncomfortably. ] Okay, that didn't just happen. Anyway, glad we're in agreement. I'll lead the charge or something.

savir sets a hand on his hip, a brow quirked at the note about the death penalty. ] Truly? Do they simply incarcerate their criminals without punishment? I have not heard of such a pacifistic kingdom before. [ he glances down, watching the awkward motion of tony's hand as he speaks. ]
As you would, commander. [ said jokingly. sort of. ]
