video + action
video; tuesday 8/2 around 1pm
[ It's been two months and through diligence and carefully covering finding ways to keep the ground cool, sure enough some of the community garden has started to sprout- which Yui is proudly showing off on her video, which starts with a scan over of the tiniest little centimeter-tall sprouts. ]
It's looking good, everyone! Thanks for your hard work. I'll keep trying to make sure these sprouts stay cool and can survive the summer heat..
[ The device goes into her front pocket so the video is still recording in front of her while she puts a shaded net over the sprouts, supported by stakes that are held up throughout the garden. It's at least creating shade and still letting the breeze in through the sides. Once she's done, she turns the video around and smiles. ]
If anyone knows any methods from their world to help sprouts out in the summer, I'd be happy to hear them!
Gardening aside though, I hope everyone's doing well.. and best of luck to those in Everglade. If there's anything I can do, please let me know. It seems like everything in the news has been negative lately, so I was thinking we could do something to cheer people up.
I know it's hot, but I've started learning yoga so I'll be offering free yoga group sessions at Garden Park on Saturdays at 10am! It'll be something of a group share more than a class, since I'll still be learning too but I think it'll help a lot of people feel better. I know it won't solve any of the problems, but hopefully it can help everyone feel less stressed and more healthy when it comes to facing reality. Everyone is welcome who promises to be cordial to others and actively participate.
action; friday 8/5 at 9:15am-9:45am
[ Yui waits quietly at the park setting out mats she borrowed from Sand Gym and just enjoying the light morning breeze and the sound of birds chirping and the little splashes of turtles plopping into the water in the pond. If someone gets to the yoga lessons early, they're more than welcome to talk to her. This is helping her study anyway, since it's review from the lesson she did last night, and she's hoping there's a big turnout. Who knows though, right? It looks like there's a table with those little 8oz water bottles and some fruit trays too- though it's sealed for after the lesson. It's best not to eat right before exercising or you'll get cramps!
OOC NOTE:Want to talk to more than just Yui before yoga lessons? Just put "OTA" in your top level and tag anyone who has an OTA up.
If your character shows up on time, we're handwaving the yoga itself bc Tay-mun doesn't know how to actually teach yoga to write this, but please let me know here if you want a character to be involved but aren't going for a thread. I'd like to get a count of how many people showed up for future reference! ]

It'd be a shame if someone were to come along and... distract you from it.
Like a certain bird who is not afraid to sparkle to get your attention.

Mikoto-senpai!
[ She seems to have gone back to calling him by his first name and senpai. Apparently she's no longer mad anymore and is happy to see him. ]
Have you done yoga before?

Um, well, it helps to know what you may already know about caring for plants and what plants are there. Though, in regards to basics, if you have mulch then, um, put it around the base of all the plants. It'll keep their roots cooler and moisturized longer.
[It's what she's seen so many people do, and done herself, back home.]
[video] sorry about the delay in reply, i got busy/stressed and then sick ;;
[video] no worries! i backtag forever
Um, I imagine if you know about grapes, then the rest isn't so difficult. Maybe just differences in watering, mainly?
[video] yay thank you!

[ shiemi sounds excited, and looks excited from where she’s seated in her room. there looked to be some hanging plants from the ceiling in the background, and she’s smiling so happy at this new piece of information. ]
Well… here’s some advice if you didn’t already know! Those plants are still young so make you you keep their roots fertilized and healthy. I always find that the best way to keep them cooled off. And spraying their sprouts with water always helps! Do that at least twice a day.
( video ) sorry about the late reply, i got busy/stressed and then sick! D:
At least twice a day, hm.. maybe I'll put up a sign that people can sign off on when they've sprayed it to make sure they don't get over or under watered. Thank you.
