[For a new arival he was pretty laid back and relaxed about it all.]

I think I have a good idea of what's going on, but I hope no one minds if I still ask a few questions of everyone.

[He shifted his arms to position the phone a bit better.]

From what I understand everyone with one of these, [He uses his free hand to lift the pendent up. His was mostly yellow with flecks of blue and red in it.] is "real" and abducted to this world. That's quite amazing when you think about it! I never expected in my whole life to experience such a fantasy like event.

But, moving on. I was curious about everyone else here. What sorts of places and states did you come from? Also, how do you feel about this place? Is there a motive behind being here? Surely there is a purpose, otherwise why go through the trouble? It must be a lot of trouble to punch a hole through to another world as well, so there must be some sort of goal involved.

Ah, but don't worry if you don't know, I'm mostly just talking to myself.

Oh, I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Komaeda Nagito, I look forward to meeting and speaking fellow abductees.

[He smiled softly and raised a hand in a friendly wave.]

That's a tricky thing, is that person here or where you came from? If they're from where you came from your memories of them could easily be fake. Or, the memories you have now are not all the memories to consider. At best you would have to settle for the person you are now. For the memories and reality you understand now. That is the only person you know, so that would be the person you would accept.

Since you don't know anyone else, considering them options isn't a safe bet. For all you know before coming here you might have done something awful, or, that Thistle person might not be your friend anymore. So the only safe reality is the one right now.

Finding out differently can easily shatter a world... so fragile is the sense of self.

[Not that he understood it all, but he could still catch the gist of things, and the uncertain nature of what he was saying was unsettling. He didn't want to 'not know'.

Oh I'm sure they're real. But, your perception of your relationship may or may not be real. So really, you can only try and believe in the person you are right now. Be this person fake compared to the one before.

Dig too deep... and you can easily find something you never should have known.

[He reached into his pocket, feeling at the familiar piece of paper there.]

He... He left me a note.

[It had been in his pocket when he came, and naturally he still had it. He would protect that piece of paper like his most treasured possession, because it was from Thistle.]

S-So, it must be real...

[He didn't mind saying it because he didn't think he was arguing against Nagito so much as just telling him more information.]

I'm confident it is.

[Nagito was mostly voicing his own misgivings. But then, not long before he had ended up in this place he had found a truth about himself he hadn't liked.]

I never said what you remember from before isn't real.

O-Oh. S-Sorry.

[Nagito had said a lot about stuff that went over his head, so he only partially understood what he was getting at. He wouldn't argue about what had been said. Although he hated admitting being lost.]

I-I don't think I got it all...

That's fine, I'm used to people not getting it. You don't need to worry about it.

It might not even be important. The theory might not even be true. Though, it's always worth considering.

What do I think is true? I know the memories I have are true, and the memories I have missing are also true. It's quite the contradiction.

But, I also have proof of this, if I hadn't had any proof I would have simply accepted the memories I knew of and nothing more. If someone had suggested I was anything otherwise I would have denied it.

W-Well... I... I hope that you're you, and... and I'm me... And that we c-can get along.
