Funday Spotlight
Summer is fast approaching its end, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy it while it’s still around. One way you might do this is to head on over to Nova City Islands. It is an indoor island resort in Nova City for those that want to get away without actually getting away. It has been the perfect vacation spot for city residents for some time.
The place is still popular even during winter, as the entire structure has climate control, keeping the inside nice and warm. Nova City Islands recently announced that they will be discounting entry and the price of renting rooms for the next four weeks. It’s said that the city Guardians have also been issued free three night passes to use at their leisure. Whether you want to stay for a weekend or for several hours, there is no doubt you’ll enjoy yourself at Nova City Islands.
Bad Chemistry
A group of people were found dead in a clearing just outside the city earlier this week. Investigation into the incident seems to reveal that three out of the seven victims were members of the notorious group Hands of Decay. As to what happened, the victims of the robbery were transporting volatile magic supplies.
It seems that several Round-bottom flasks were broken in the attempted robbery with resulted in the mixing of chemicals. The chemicals created a poison which the men appeared to have succumbed to. Further investigation in being conducted into this incident and there will be more information as it becomes available.
Mayor Sabbatical
It was announced yesterday in Everglade that the Mayor is being placed on leave. This is due to the erratic behavior and changes that he has made recently to Everglade, as well as the concerns of the people of the city. Readers may remember the Mayor’s out of nowhere choice to allow all manner of creatures to occupy the city at night. And any death of a person out after curfew was deemed legal.
Just recently, he amended the law slightly, but expunged the criminal records of all Fayren criminals and allowed them to go free. This has resulted in a large increase in violent crimes throughout the city. It’s unknown what caused the Mayor to issue these changes, but it is only recently that he has decided to make such radical changes.
So while he is on leave, the Assistant Mayor will be taking over for him. His first action was to temporarily repeal the laws enacted by the Mayor while he is in office. More on this as the story develops.
Rising Stars
Superstar Yashiro Tsurugi has made waves recently as he hit the music scene. While he has only recently signed on the Fama Talent Agency, and only recently released a single, a concert is already in the works. Taking place on August 19th in the Genssia Center Arts Theatre, Yashiro Tsurugi will hit the stage for his first concert. Tickets have already become scarce leading up to the event.
It was recently announced that the opening act for the show will be a young girl by the name of Super Sonico! That’s an interesting stage name While not much is known about her or how she will perform, many are still greatly anticipating the upcoming concert.
Blue Mana
A magical drug has been circulating around Fayren over these last few weeks. The drug apparently puts the user in an extremely euphoric state and heightened sensitivity to magic, as well as magic strength. However its highly addictive, and several deaths have been reported from its use.
Where it comes from and who supplies it is currently being investigated in Fayren. The Royal Family has decreed that due to the nature of the drug, having it in your possession is a criminal offense.
The Festival of Fireflies
Proudly presented by the Mayor, from August 15th through the 20th, the Festival of Fireflies makes a triumphant return to the glades of Genessia City after too many years away.
Enjoy games, rides, food, entertainment, and more! And then deck yourselves out for a glamorous masque ball to be held on the last day. It is an experience you will not forget!

Under The Knife - Three people have been found murdered in their homes. They appeared to have been murdered using surgical instruments, but not much else is known about the case. A level 2 payment is being offered to anyone that can capture this person.
Nova City
Long Shot - Several times over the last few days, vehicles and storefronts have been destroyed using rocket propelled grenades. People have been severely injured, but no deaths yet. Images show that a man is responsible for the attacks, but why isn’t known. A level 2 payment is being offered for his capture.

Title: Everglade's Mysterious Vigilante Appears! Crime? Mr. Snuffles Snuffs it Out!
Info: A recent new vigilante has shown up and basically accused anyone who isn't him of not taking care of the city, even though there are a few key points that he seemed to have missed.
1. Fai's actions actually resulted in the changes to the laws in Everglade that now give humans a right to defend themselves just as much as non-humans have a right to hunt for food. Sure, he probably didn't plan on the criminals all being let go, but that's another matter entirely. Half of them shouldn't have been in there in the first place.
2. Non-humans do have rights too, and many of them are incapable of eating foods that aren't human. No one would be mad if human beings were mass-hunting sentient chickens and humans would be complaining if they weren't allowed to because the only thing else to eat were foods that were poisonous to them, like that bad part of the blowfish.
3. The barrier will go down if everything is safe and happy and hunkydory in Everglade, so lol get over it it's a couple of people who are a part of the food chain or everyone here.
4. Anyone talking like that past the sixth grade is either really really dumb or has some kind of disorder where they can't grow up and has no business fighting crime.
5. About the crimespree: The majority of the crime in Everglade after the release is likely due to a small portion of the city's criminals who are very loud and obnoxious and can't keep their urges in their pants for 20 minutes, not all of the criminals. In fact, the majority of the imprisoned in Everglade were actually victims of the previous Guardian's anti-necromancy laws and then self-defenses cases from the curfew. The others are what bounty hunters are for, there's no need for vigilantism. In fact, I'm 99% sure it's just as illegal. Oops, Mr. Snuffles.
As you can see, chances are that the new vigilante is more into making snuff films of non-humans than actual justice. Couple that with his known speech patterns and demeanor, Mr. Snuffles is the only appropriate name. He's been officially registered as a bounty under that name in Everglade. Watch out, Genessia! Don't let Mr. Snuffles snuff your sense of justice out!

Title: Encounter with the Everglade vigilante
Info: To be honest, I'm not even sure why I'm writing this. This is honestly one of the most traumatic things I've ever gone through. I guess it's because I hope that somehow, it helps catch this sicko
To start out, me and my friend are both werewolves. Yes, that means we can eat humans, but we never did. We knew it was wrong, and never acted on the impulse. Sometimes we teased or made threats but it was just to scare people or joke around, you know? By now everyone knows Everglade's barrier is built on fear, and I guess we thought we were helping out.
That night we were in a pretty secluded alleyway. He'd just got off work and we were walking home, shooting the breeze. I asked him where he wanted to eat, and he made some bad joke like "how about the orphanage?" or something. Around that time, we both sensed something, or someone. Werewolf senses are really acute, but even then, it was faint.
We kept walking, when suddenly, my friend just fell over. Before I could even turn around to see what was wrong, I heard this sickening snapping noise. His jaw was ripped right off his face. Then I heard this voice, this childish, mocking voice. It said, "If ya can't use yer mouth properly, maybe ya shouldn't use it at all!"
I didn't see him. I couldn't even smell him. I couldn't even move. I tried to get away, but somehow I was paralyzed. Apparently this psycho overheard our conversation, and took it to heart. Then I heard this scraping sound, and my eyes, the only part of me I could move, saw my friend's flesh being scraped off his bones.
Then he started talking to me. I don't remember what he said, but it was something like "so you monsters think it's funny to eat people, huh? Or maybe you think you have to to survive? Let's test that." Then I felt something really sharp point into my throat. It drew blood the moment it touched me, but I still couldn't see the weapon or the guy holding it. Then he laid out the rules for his sick game.
"Here's the deal: I'm gonna feed you yer friend, okie-dokie? And if you don't eat every last bite, I'll kill ya. In other words, you have to eat another person to survive. Should be easy for ya, right?"
I wish he were joking. He wasn't. Something grabbed my jaw and forced it open, and he shoved the pieces of my friend he took off into my mouth. I tried to resist, but it was useless. I don't know how, but he worked my body like a puppet. He moved my jaw, massaged my throat, and everything other torturous thing you can imagine to make me eat the guy I'd known since college.
I tried to scream, or spit it out, or run, but my body only moved when he wanted it to. Worse, he kept talking in that horrible voice, saying these twisted things like "down the hatch" or "choo choo", or "if you don't eat your dinner, you won't get dessert!" He scooped out my friend's eyeballs and shoved them towards mine.
The only relief I got was when I threw up. Then I could actually start talking. I begged him to stop, then tried to scream, but before I finished my mouth locked up again. He took my vomit, made me eat that too, and kept going.
I don't know how long this lasted. Five, maybe ten minutes, but it felt like an eternity of hell. When it was over with, all I could move were my eyes. He said, "So, how did that feel? Not so funny, huh? Maybe you'll think twice before you laugh at the idea of eating people." I still couldn't see him, but I heard a noise like lifting a tablecloth, and could tell he was gone. My friend vanished with him. A few minutes later I could move, but I didn't see a single trace. No blood, no fur, nothing. It was like he was never there. I threw up again in the nearest garbage can, then ran as fast as I could.
I can't begin to describe the shame. The pure revulsion I felt as I was forced to do something I'll never live down. The horror, wondering when this guy would kill me too. But I guess that would've been a mercy, letting me die. Truth be told, suicide is looking pretty tempting after all that.
I guess he wanted to make a point. Please, Guardians, anyone, stop this vigilante. I've lived in Everglade my entire life, and I've never seen anything as demented as what I had to live through. I'm begging you, bring him in before he hurts anyone else.
