[Toby flicks on the screen standing behind what looks like a rustic bar.]

Hey. [He sort of sucks at using these stupid video things and he'll always forget to introduce himself.] I'm about to open a place and we're going to have custom beers.

Before that I need people to come taste them and tell me what they like or don't like about them. [He likes to get straight to the point.]

[Without much more to say the video flicks off.]

[OOC: Toby will be at his unopened, unfinished Tavern. For those who come to taste you'll find him standing behind the bar with an annoyed look on his face. There are also a few papers out with menu's listed on them and puns scratched in messy writing next to each item.]

[Charles looks up at the boy thoughtfully before responding again, this time half to himself.]

So, does everyone start in the negatives with you, or only vampires? [He makes a motion.] I can assure you, it wasn't a vampire who abducted you and your family, you know.

Only you and I know.

[It's all vampires really. He's spent the last few months working for Natalia and he has no love for her son either. He knows there is one other vampire at HQ but he hasn't spoken to him, simply because Toby doesn't care. Natalia is the sort of person he dislikes, more so considering the things she's asked him to do. It's simply someone else using the weapon he's become.

He can't think that any vampire is different.]

May I ask you a question?

[He'll rein in his interest for the time being and allow Toby to give him permission before he continues.]

I won't stop you from asking but I don't promise an answer.

[He busies himself with work; cleaning mostly. It's better if he remains distracted though the scent is still there and thick.]

Barring my species, what do you know of me?

[Toby considers the question for a moment before shrugging.]

Enough. [It isn't much of an answer.] I've seen HQ. Your name is mentioned.

[That's all he really knows and he frankly doesn't care.]

[He nods, still looking thoughtful.]

I see. And so you believe I am like those of my species who would see us rule the world?

No.

[Toby knows enough about him to know that he wouldn't do that. He hasn't heard directly but his siblings have been asking Gus questions and Toby has overheard a lot of the answers.]

[He nods.]

And yet you treat me as though you don't believe that.

[Toby offers Charles a shrug and nothing else. He can't stand the smell and while logically he knows that it's stupid to act this way it's something like instinct urging him too. He doesn't want to take a chance because there is someone here he wants to protect.]

[Charles frowns, but allows himself to lapse into silence. Much like his father before him, Toby wasn't simply going to warm to him at his word alone. He could accept that.]

[Toby likes the silence and will leave Charles to his drinks as he continues to clean. Eventually he'll run out of shit to do and start cleaning the same couple of glasses over and over.

It's a mind numbing task and one that Toby finds he enjoys.]
