ACTION - GENESSIA (some shopping area)
[It looks like any ordinary, regular day on this particular street in the middle of Genessia, and honestly who's to say that the sight of a bright orange, furry eared and tailed kitsune is anything outside the realm of every day possibility? Currently, he's locked in what looks like a heated debate with a sales lady—who looks none too pleased at what Kaden has just suggested.]

Whaaaat? Are you kidding? What do you mean I have to buy them before I can cut holes in them? That's kind of unfair, you know? How'm I supposed to wear them without cutting holes for my ears? [Kaden seems disappointed, and a little bit whiney, but the saleslady doesn't look amused or moved in his favor at all, even after he promises to pay her back for the favor if she lets him try out a hat or two— with holes in them. Eventually, after nearly being shooed out of the store in a burst of unbridled aggrivation Kaden backs down.

In any case, with several hats still in his hands and sporting disappointed pout on his face he turns to the nearest passerby/fellow shopper and holds the hats out.]

Hey could you help me pick the best one for my money? The lady won't let me cut holes in them till I buy one, but I can't fit them on my head without doing that! They're too neat to pass up, but there's no way I'm going to shove my beautifully groomed ears into these things without being sure they'll look great!

[When the video starts at first the only think visible are a pair of fluffy looking fox ears poking out of some sort of hat that seems to have had holes freshly cut into it. He wound up buying one afterall, and had a hand getting holes cut into it. When he adjusts the image so that the rest of his face can be seen, it becomes obvious that not only has Kaden found a pair of sunglasses to complete his ensemble, he's found at least THREE pairs, and is wearing them all at the same time. His eyes are completely hidden by the multiple layers of smokey lens'd sunglasses. It makes for a rather silly look, even if the fangy grin on his face suggests that he's quite pleased with himself.]

Hey, wow! Even though I didn't really ask to be here this place is pretty great! I can't believe there's so much neat stuff to buy here that I've never even seen before!! What other kinds of things can you get here that're this awesome?

Goodness, where to start? Nova City, perhaps, contains some of the most interesting gadgets and gizmos one could hope to find. Programmable holo-projectors, guns with thousand-round blocks of ammunition, self-sterilizing door handles...

what's a holo-projector? [and all that other stuff too to be honest. ...Though he knows what ammunition is.]

Heh, don't forget pens! Nova City has those too, of course. Ones that light, or have timepieces. A swiss army knife of utility!

A holo-projector is a miniature version of what you saw at the Bay. Once you know your way around the thing, you can make it display practically anything you want in three dimensions.

[Kaden is just nodding along, to be honest—like he knows and understands completely what all these things are. He does remember the thing at the bay tho. that was weird and he wasn't sure if he liked it all that much.]

Awesome! What about clothes? I've never seen so many different styles!

Me either! [Now he's got Ted talking, much as he loved to dress in...interesting clothes] Endless patterns, endless colors. So many that it seems altogether vain to even go out looking for them; one buys what one needs and then lets the universe gives what it will, or at least that's the serependipity that most agrees with the caprice of fortune, don't you think?

[Oh god what has he done? Kaden's eyes widen a little, and he's admittedly having a hard time following, but, he does his best to and nods a little in response.

Yes sure, he does think!]

[Now she's solved the finding a job issue, Ibuki feels it's high time she expands her wardrobe beyond the scant items she'd started with. She hadn't planned on stopping at this particular spot - hats don't really work with her look - but it's hard to avoid it when she's having hats more or less thrust under her nose.

Well. Never let it be said Ibuki doesn't try to be helpful when asked.]

Hmm. Ibuki would be tempted to buy all of them but I guess you're having to watch the reds just like I am. So...

[She takes a look at him, looks back at the hats, then moves to deftly pluck out any that have any hint of red, orange or anything close-by on the colour spectrum. She at least attempts to toss them onto a shelf, if successful, but that's not to say they land on the right shelf.

Anything that looks like a fedora, regardless of colour, is getting tossed too.]

[Come on Ibuki let a man live. Let him make the poor fedora choice if it is his destiny....]

Woah, you're pretty good at this huh? You look like you know what you're doing!

[he does pause though, and points at the fedoras.] What's wrong with the ones that look like that? [other than the fact that they all look like 90% of them would be cut into with the size of his ears.]

Hmhmhm. You're a smart one, I'll give you that.

[Hey, so long as she looks like she knows what she's doing, that's all she really needs.

Though his question sees her pull a face, picking up the fedora between the very tips of her fingers and flinging it further away just in case.]

In hat language, those things are the worst of the worst. And Ibuki chooses to believe you're not a fedora kind of guy.

[Because she likes to give the benefit of the doubt, after all.]

Hats have a language? [Do they talk to other hats? do they whisper things? Kaden frowns and looks at the hat he's holding suddenly rather suspicously. What things are you whispering to other hats while you're on his head, you HAT?]

You really seem like you know what you're talking about, I had no idea! I'll take your word for it. [he pauses, and peers over her shoulder to see what she's doing.]

They do. And those guys are the ones the other hats keep out of the treehouse.

[Not really but then she doesn't think he's taking her that seriously. She's just having fun with the idea, even if the idea of hat language would be an interesting one.

Of the hats that are left, she's just going to start trying to hold them against his head in an idea of how they might look pre ear-allowance while she replies.]

That's me. I'd give you a gold star but I'm fresh out right now.

[Oh no, it's so cute. Not that Smoker would ever be taken so off guard to admit such a thing out loud, but still.]

[He's sporting his own pair of sunglasses on the forehead, and goggles around the neck. Yes.]

Pretty much everything. Make sure you tried the fried dough, cotton candy, and the rides, especially if you've never been on the rides before.

[Kaden does cute pretty well, all things considered. He also does dangerous well, but that's not exactly something that's important right now. This guy seems pretty nice though, and Kaden beams from ear to ear, enough to send one of the pairs of sunglasses to flop off of his face since he doesn't exactly have human ears to wear them on.

...but he doesn't seem bothered, even when he scrambles to catch them before they fall to the ground and get scuffed or something worse.]

Woah wait, is there some kinda celebration going on? [He does, however mentally put aside "sycamore cycles" in order to check that out later.]

Not that I'm aware of? It's just called the Firefly Festival, so I think it's something they do every year here.

Oh, so it's kind of like an annual party, that's pretty cool! Maybe if I go I'll get to meet some of these people I've been talking to. That'd be pretty great.

[ of all the people to approach in that very moment, it had to be another man with furry animal ears atop his head. said ears are, at this time, not as well kept as kaden's are, though he still does not find the idea of shoving them into a hat all too appealing. ]

[Look it's not his fault that Savir's ears almost look like hair. If he wanted people to notice them they shouldn't be so camouflaged! ... or so wildly unkempt. The reactive wince makes its way onto Kaden's face before he can stop it.]

Huh? [He's still staring from Savir's face to his awful unkempt fur...He'll bring that up in a minute.]

[He was too distracted by the top of Kaden's head to pay much attention to anything else. Such a nice color...! They looked so fuzzy, and soft, and silky to the touch. He was fascinated by them.]

[all of these assumptions are, indeed, correct. Kaden fluffs up proudly at the compliment.]

Hey, thanks! I make sure to take extra good care of my coat! Kitsune fur is highly prized you know!

S-Sometimes, I wish I had ears like th-that. They seem really p... popular.

He'd seen plenty of people get ear scritches, and it seemed nice.]

Eh? Woah, I wouldn't wanna die, even if the ears are pretty awesome. Human ears are pretty neat too! They do a better job of getting these things to stay on your face for one.

[He indicates the layers of sunglasses.]

I-I don't want to die, ei... either!

[He flushed a bit. He was definitely against dying. He shuffled his feet nervously and mumbled.]

I-I just meant in my... in my next life...

[He fiddled with his staff before deciding to move on.]

H-How do you keep the sunglasses on?

[his enthusiasm is definitely contagious! she finds herself smiling right back at him.]

Well that all depends, what do you consider to be 'awesome'?

[contagious is probably a good word for Kaden, all things considered. That an the unstoppable force, depending on the situation. He's nothing if not resilient.]

Napping is pretty awesome, but so are most of the sights in Hoshido back home. There's this amazing place where you can go sit on boats in the water and watch performers! That's pretty awesome. But not really what I'm looking for, come to think of it...

[sidetracked...] If it's beautiful I'll probably like it! It has to match my coat [SO FURRY.] though!

Amazing, that really does sound splendid. I almost wish I could see it myself.

Oh! [WOW SUCH CONDITIONS....] Beautiful things, is it? I will have to keep that in mind. And even from over the device I can see that your coat is indeed magnificent.

[Look, no one said that Kaden is IMPOSSIBLE to please, but well beauty is pretty subjective, so maybe he's actually more picky than that lets on.

For the time being though, Robin's comment does a lot to stroke Kaden's ego, and it shows on the pleased, preening face that he's making right now. He IS magnificent, if he does so himself.]

Hey thanks! Kitsune fur is pretty prized where I come from. ESPECIALLY if it's as well taken care of as mine is! If I sold some of it I could make a small fortune!

[ Weiss had been around shopping for clothes for the upcoming masquerade ball when she heard that. When she hears him asking some other person about the hat, she rolls her eyes and comes over. ]

If you're looking for clothes for Faunus- or.. whatever you identify as, I don't know what people with animal parts are in your world- I know a couple of stores who will do the custom job for you.

[ She's been shopping with Sun and Blake both before. ]

[Weiss you don't have to sound so angry!!! It kind of catches Kaden off guard, like he's being scolded for doing something he shouldn't be. He winds up pouting, his ears drooping down just slightly to match his mood.]

Huh? What the heck's a Faunus? I'm a kitsune! I've got the nine tails and everything! [Well, one tail right now, but he's not going to wander around and try to buy clothes in his more animalistic form. that's silly!!]

Okay, but the point of shades is to be able to see through them. How you haven't tripped over something with all that is beyond me.

Oh, well I've got my nose, and I can KIND of see through them if I squint. It's not that bad, besides what's the point of them anyway?

[Well, she's certainly been rocking the cat ears for a while now.]

They keep the sun out of your eyes. They work best with just one pair though, otherwise it prevents too much light getting through to see.
