[When Kuroneko first arrived in Genessia, she thought it was a bad dream like any newcomer would. But she was stuck in this alternate reality for days, so there must be something weird going on here. She had mostly been sticking to herself in her room, either writing fanfiction or attempting to use her newly issued phone to find something other than Genessia communication. But that could only occupy only so much of her time. So she decides to put a message out there. After all, it can't be too bad if they're just like forums, right?]
I'm sure there are several posts of people asking about where they are. But I have a couple of questions for you, denizens of Genessia.
1. What kind of ridiculous premise is this? Is this one of those trendy stuck in an MMORPG light novels? Whatever demons brought us here could have done much better. You gave me money and an NPC introduction, but at least there should be some sort of power or class system. And what's with the setting? Are they trying to combine "stuck in a high fantasy world" with an urban fantasy? Please tell the creators to either actually put some effort in or else throw themselves off a cliff.
2. Are we able to get cable or internet eventually? Firstly, I need to check my news sites. Additionally, if this place is worth anything it will air the greatest masterpiece known to humankind, aka Maschera ~Lament of a Fallen Beast~. I would like to see if it is here, and I recommend you all to watch it.

[Though she knows a few people who has thought of it that way.]
I haven't been able to get the internet. I miss Netflix but there are movie stores. There isn't access to our homes unless we open a sub-archway.
Hope this helps.
text
I see. How disappointing. If we actually were brought here by mysterious dark powers beyond our control, they could have at least given us the internet.
text
This is like another world but a collection of them? Where they collect people... okay it sounds like a game but I hope it isn't.

this was insane, this was completely ridiculous, and she could not believe that her best friend was now in this place. kuroneko was here, kuroneko was actually here. instead of answering any of kuroneko's questions, kirino just sends her a frantic text message.]
wh ere are yu o?!
text
[Kuroneko was always this blunt usually, but she didn't know Kirino was on the other side. She didn't really appreciate this seemingly non-sequitur reply. If only she knew...she would probably reply the same way, actually. But inside, she would be so happy to know her best friend was here.]
text
[she just didn't have time for this right now, she needed kuroneko more than anything.]
please- it's kirino

Still, I would sum this place up as more of a sandbox with multiplayer.
text
Mystery adventure games are alright. At least they're not eroge. But even the most perverted eroge would be preferable to this "sandbox with multiplayer" idea. So the creators couldn't even come up with a plot?

There's a chance of finding familiar manga in the library.

[She's a little bit excited about the prospect of manga in the library, though.]
And...huhuhu~ is that so? Perhaps I shall be checking out the library then, to see if it is up to par with my tastes.

Weiss is not an NPC. She's a PC with a lot of XP. She's made a career out of helping n00bs.
Fayren is fantasy.
Nova City is sci-fi.
Everglade is closest to horror or modern supernatural.
Attelon is slice-of-life
Genessia is the starting point
I found my brother's manga there.
[ He gives a list of addresses that his otaku boyfriend liked to shop at.]

Re: text

the only one in this place with fucking answers
1) its a ridiculous premise yes
your hologram weiss isnt an npc tho im under the impression shes more like the princess here
the horrorterrors have decided this is mmo is a sandbox with a focus on urban fantasy shenanigans
is it slice of life ???
but like sometimes it goes full on scifi
i dont want to get way too meta here so well chalk this up to
the setting is "yes" and the plot is "probably"
the power class system in place is imported from your prior game
so if you had no powers last time youre shit outta luck there
your inventory is also imported from your last game so i hope you had everything you wanted on you
theres hella effort but also this game fucking sucks sometimes
the worldmap is limited to the designated cities
people disconnect at fucking random and never come back
and friendly fire is on
respawns have consequences
watch the fuck out
2) yes
but in order to avoid multiuniversal copyright laws
everything is a knockoff version unless you brought it with you
i could probably alchemize that shit for you if you describe it for me tho
text
Firstly, at least there is some fantasy element to this. I can still sense dark energy, so I knew about powers already. And what are these other cities? Are they as boring as this one?
If there were going to take us with our pre-existing abilities, they could have at least placed us in a setting where we can use them.
[Not that you'd want that, Kuroneko. You're a normie with chuunibyou.]
Secondly, that sounds ridiculous. How could they not have Maschera? Even with your offer, I highly doubt you can come close.
text
i cant not flatter myself
im so fucking charming when it comes to me
anyway is that your skillset
you sense dark forces
can you predict the future too my sister can do that
and nah theyre not
genessia is actually not the least boring that would be attleton
then you got nova which is slightly more exciting because its the futurisitic scifi area
everglade is monster mash town and full of werewolves and vampires and shit
fayren exists which is where you want to go if you want to live in world of warcraft i guess but it also blows and can suck my dick
you can use them if you want
theres shit to do where you can use them
just maybe not as much ??
because theyre fucking stupid thats why
your lack of faith hurts

I think I'm one of the only people who knows my stats, so, not an MMORPG light novel, no.
Also, I wouldn't call Weiss an NPC to her face.
As for Internet, er, I think that'd be Nova City. Maybe?
text
I can call her whatever I'd like. She was the one explaining things to me, therefore an NPC. She looked like an angel too...my mortal enemy...
And where is Nova City? Why is there only one place that has a working internet connection?
Re: text
Well, besides these devices, which can cross cities? Nova's the higher-tech place, so if your world's higher-tech, they're more likely to be where you'd find a home. Genessia is a couple notches lower. After that, you're largely in pre-electrical areas, beyond what the people bring in.text

Oh!
[There's not quite a lightbulb over her head but the idea's close enough.]
Maybe it's a different genre. Like that game where you make all the little people and their houses and then send them to work or make babies or not get out of swimming pools because there's no ladder. Maybe even right now, there's someone watching us waiting for little numbers to go up or down!
text
I have no idea what you're talking about. Chiaki-chan? Little numbers? You are aware that I'm new here, right?
[Regardless, Kuroneko doesn't play The Sims.]
