Oi! I'm not sure what's going on, but if I'm here that means I'm not in the tower from hell anymore.

[His memories of being outside of the tower had no resemblance to this outside. There were no floors like this, and he was almost certain this was a completely different world from his own and the tower's. He's not even sure if he had his own body, but that was unimportant to the bigger picture. He was clueless to his new situation, and if what friends he had left at Animus were even alive.]

Any one from Animus here? Do you know what happened?

[Everything was falling apart, thats all he could remember before waking up here.]

A version of me? That is impossible. I've been in Auldrant up until now.

[ She replied seriously. Her eyes narrowed when he said that. It might be another her impersonating her. As far as she knew, Tear was not a replica and that term didn't always fit well with everything. Not that she had anything against replicas ]

My name is Locrian Colonel Tear Grants of the Oracle Knights Intelligence Division. I am not a replica. We've stopped the replica creations three years ago. How do you know of this?

It's...a long story.

Back in the other world I was in. It pulled people from their homes, like this one. Except we were told our homes were destroyed. [That's just the tip of the iceberg.]

A lot of people from your world were in the tower.

Explain.

[ She replied giving him a hardened gaze still. He knew her name and he knew the term. She didn't know if he was an enemy or not yet.. ]

...That place that you came from took people from Auldrant, and claimed that our world was destroyed? That is still impossible. We've stopped the destruction of Auldrant.

[ but she couldn't deny that he didn't seem like he was pulling her leg.It was concerning. ]

Tell me more about that location, if it isn't too much trouble for you.

We didn't think so. One month I went back to my home world and there was nothing left. The tower was losing power to sustain the survivors who were pulled from their worlds by Zo. He was one of the administrators that ran the tower. Everyone was trying to repair their worlds, and make the tower go on so people who died in their worlds could continue to live there instead of returning.

[His fist clenched.]

The tower was dangerous. Something always went wrong or something malfunctioned. Sometimes the admins tried out experiments. Or they were probably bored.

[Let his explanation get slower...harder to explain.]

In the tower, everything was fake...An illusion. The things we saw, the images we were familiar with.

[Everything.]

Even us. Our bodies. They were fake. People with powers, for the longest time, was just something produced by the tower.

The only thing original to us were our souls...and even those weren't safe.

I see. So you were pulled unwillingly to a job that you had no choice but to do. It seems like this concept of 'saving,' is more than a bit twisted.

[ Tear replied her gaze seemingly softening at the words he was saying. nothing seemed fake to her. She could tell that he was genuinely honest and she was feeling his pain as he talked. ]

My apologies but this does not sound familiar to me but I do not doubt what you have said.

[ She replied giving him a serious look. ]

I cannot fathom what sort of place would play with people's lives in such a manner.

It's better that you don't remember what happened there, anyway. It was hard on everyone who lived there, even people from worlds who were use to that sorta thing.

[He can live with that. It wasn't the end of their friendship. It just wouldn't be the one they had before.]

Back in that world you, well a version of you, told me you've never had fun before. Hang out. [Chill.]

You might not have your memories, but you're still my friend, and if it's not too hard on you--[He wasn't being forceful was he? She must have been as shocked as he was for even knowing what he did.] We could be friends? [Again.]

It doesn't sound like it gave you much of a break. I apologize for not having such memories. It must be difficult for you to know me, and I have no idea who you are.

[ She replied to him, giving him an apologetic smile. ]

[ Tear's face turns red at that comment. ]

I suppose that is true. I do not quite understand what it means to have 'fun,' or 'hang out.'

[ She's a military soldier after all. ]

I see. If you would like to consider me that, I have no qualms about accepting it.

[ She replied smiling. ]

It was no picnic. [But here he was. There were a lot of things he'll need time to get over.]

We can still hang out if you're not busy here.

I can only imagine.

[ She replied seriously towards him as he said that. ]

I don't believe I will be very busy. It will take time to adjust but it isn't too difficult to meet.
