TEXT/(eventual) ACTION

[... Well this isn't Cairo.

No they were at least five thousand percent sure they were going to Cairo, that's what the bus driver said, and bus drivers never ever lie, right? That's like... against the law for humans, isn't it? Twenty to life for being a lying bus driver?

They're looking about their little awakening area blankly, with their map, sitting docilely and deeply confused where they are.

Also... Electronic device near them. Their kingdom for Hiro to be here, they'd know what to do with this stupid thing...

Thank goodness they know the alphabet though
]

Hello!

I am very lost.

Very sorry.

I am looking for Cairo. I do not think it has moved as of late, and should still be firmly attached to Africa.

If anyone has seen where Cairo has been placed, please contact me and direct me to it.

It is not dire. I can wait.

Where is the closest city, in the mean time? It would be nice, perhaps, to not be

[They glance around the cave]

here.

It is pretty. But I do not think I should live in it.

[ Well, that's a strange text message. Might as well answer. ]

The cave you are in is in the middle of the city of Genessia. I take it you have just arrived here?

There is no need to apologize for that.

[ How to put this so he hopefully doesn't panic... ]

There is a machine in the cave you are in that explains better what this place is than I ever could. I am afraid the most simple way for me to put it is that you will not be able to return home or go to this Cairo place at this time.

[ Oh Nehra he sounds like her when she first arrived. She can't help chuckling before textnig back. ]

You will not anger the machine by activating it, I promise you that.

As for why, it is an effect of this place. It seems to take many from different worlds, though for what reason I do not know. What we do here and how much time we spend here seems to have no bearing on our homes, so you can take comfort in that. You will not miss anything simply by being here.

Most of us do. It seems we arrive and leave by this place's whims however, by no choice of our own.

The best I can suggest is that you find work and a place to stay. If you are unused to machines, might I suggest Fayren? It is the city to the south, with no electricity or machinery to speak of. It was the most familiar to me when I first arrived.

There is a lot of green forest, with mountains in the distance. The town is lively enough, though it has been some time since I have really visited and looked around.

I live in Genessia, the city we are in now. I do miss the green forest sometimes, but the I learn new things of the city and how things work every day, which I think is worth staying for.

It is yours, and you should keep it. It is the only way you will be able to freely pass through the gates between cities. All those who were brought here from their homes possess one.

It is a pass. I think it may be magic in some form, though it is not like any I have seen before this place.

That I could not say for certain. You will find spices to better flavour food in the other cities, but I would not consider Fayren's food to be terrible by any means. I have liked the dishes in Nova City, though it may be too much for you to experience that city so soon -- there is far more machinery there than even in Genessia.
enchantressofore: (Why it is simple!)

Re: [Text]

I believe Nova City is the largest, and Fayren the smallest. However, it may be that Fayren is the smallest because so much of it is still wild instead of populated by the townspeople. Genessia is a fairly large city itself, though it has ways to make travel much faster than simply walking on foot.

[Dang, Adela beat him to the tutorializing. Oh well, there was something he wanted to know from this turbaned newcomer.]

Hello; welcome to Genessia! The closest city is Genessia City, which you're already in. Will you tell me your name? I'm Ted.

Uh what's a Cairo? Is it someone's cat?

[Because it sounds like one.]

I don't think you can go anywhere, though.

[ There's a pause before he'll receive the next message. ]

I cannot at this time. I am required to rest right now, for I am recovering from surgery I had recently.
