[ACTION + OPEN] GENESSIA CITY | JACK'S BAR AND KARAOKE CLUB
[On one hand, he was away from his home world and on the other, he was away from all the social stigma that had come with being the sorceress knight. He didn't know which was better, seeing as he had no clue what this place was besides the information given but at least people were glaring at them like he was dog shit on the bottom of their shoe or trying to kill him.
He had spent the last two months hiding out for the most part, inconspicuous, away from society. So, it was actually pretty damn nice to sit at a bar with a glass of coke and rum, without being hassled. He'd worry about Fujin and Raijin later. He knew they could take care of themselves.
Hyperion sat at his side, and his new trench coat (the same as last time) remained on his person. He was grateful for that.
In the background he heard people singing badly, not being able to carry a tune but he endured the noise for the peace he suddenly had. He knocked back the coke and rum, ordered another and made arrangements for a turkey sandwich with mustard to be ordered with a side of steamed asparagus.
After he ate, he'd go find that apartment he'd been given and start looking for some kind of job. The gem he was wear, green, basically he said he had to live in some fantasy city. He'd rather stay here but at the promise of more influence over his environment, he'd go for the fantasy and see if it was all it was cracked up to be.
Just as his order arrived, he heard someone actually singing pretty damn good for once and craned his head halfway around to listen and get a good view.]

Action
[Airy steps up next to the bar and orders a drink once she manages to flag down the bartender. There is a light smile on her lips while her long wavy hair is pulled back into a messy tie. She's here to sing and get away from things though the singing tonight hasn't been very great.]
They have a lot of songs.
[She's managed to get some songs from her phone added by sheer audacity.]

[he pauses for a moment, taking a drink from his tumbler.] Guessing you're a local and you sing yourself stupid pretty often, eh?
Hm... [he answers in thought.] Doubt they have anything I would listen to. So far, all I'm hearing is a bunch of bubblegum pop bullshit.
no subject
[She remembers the date.] What is bubblegum pop? What if I sang something like... 'shut up and dance with me.' [It's a song from her phone that she got hooked up to the system.]
Also, saying stupid is mean. I drink myself stupid. The singing is just a fun side effect.
[Airy has already had a drink and is now sipping on her second.]
no subject
[he shrugs.] Sickening upbeat tunes of whiny singers talking about love, dreams and childhood days. Puppy dogs and rainbows. Shit like that.
[He arches a blond brow.] Never heard of it but play it and we'll see.
[He smirks.] Never claimed to be a nice guy, so I don't really care about being mean. [He pauses for a moment, then continues.] I've never been drunk enough to forgo my ego and dignity to sing and dance in front of others while under the influence. And I can't see where it's a fun side effect, especially when people remember what you did the next day. Something to hold against you for years to come.
no subject
[Hence the name though she might sing it before the night is through.]
See, I don't have to be drunk. [Airy's never been completely drunk either.] I call it confidence and I don't have much of an ego. It's also a little sad that you think that someone will hold something against you. It doesn't sound like you don't have many good friends. The point is to do something you enjoy and no one can hold what you enjoy against you.
[She peers at the stage waiting to see if its free to jump in.]
no subject
[he snorts.]
You act like you know me already but you don't. I can appreciate not letting things get to you. I'm the king of it.
[though sometimes not these days.]
[he tilted his head, he had a pretty big ego and he was man enough to admit it.]
Hey, I never said anyone would hold anything against me, just that I don't want to be reminded of what I did while drunk by video or being the butt of a joke the rest of my life. I don't think that shit is pleasant. And I've got great friends.
[Two. Yeah, pretty... nevermind.] I like your philosophy though.
no subject
That's good. I mean the 'not letting things get to you' part. You're probably very strong.
[He's interesting and very different from a lot of people she knew.]
I'm glad. Oh! I'll be right back. [Airy runs to the stage as it clears and waves to the guy controlling the music. After a second of plugging in her phone the music begins to play and she begins to sing. Airy isn't the best singer in the world but she isn't awful either. It's clear that she's having fun and she even starts dancing a little bit on the stage.]

When night falls, gazing at the moonlight from space.
Inside the window, swimming in the floating, swaying air.
( she had a very even soprano voice, and sung in a rather relaxed manner, keeping her own pace with the song, which was actually purely japanese but she could easily translate it so everyone could understand. )
I lead this world as I wanted.
Stopping, and instead, I mourn for lost love.
( in a way, she could relate to what she was singing. it did feel awful, like a dreadful feeling in the pit of her stomach, losing someone she wanted to be with.
her voice becomes slightly softer, powered by emotion. )
Where do you disappear to?
I don’t know, leaving so quietly.
I can’t help worrying about it.
Wherever you’re taken to…
( as she finished, the crowd does clap and cheer. and shiemi, dressed in her favorite kimono, bows politely before hopping off the stage. it would be a rather long walk back to amagi so maybe she could just ease here and listen to other singers.
however she does spot someone whom had actually seemed intent on listening to her. offering the man a kind smile, she waved timidly. )
Ah. Hello there. Did you enjoy the song?
no subject
He guesses he could relate. He hasn't lost anyone important unless you count Fujin and Raijin, but he'd probably find them again. It was the loss of his identity he had lost while being under the sorceress's control.
He was still struggling sometimes, with dealing with himself and all his past entailed. It was hard but he knew he was stronger than what he went through dictated.
When the young girl finished, he found himself clapping. His gloved hands making a patting noise. He wondered what was up with the bow and strange clothes, but he'd chalk it up to the fact that it was the customs of this world.
He's about to go back to his drink and meal when the girl in question, comes upon him and waves shyly.
His lip curls up into a smirk.] Yeah, it was pretty good. A lot better than the other wannabes in this joint even trying to sound decent.
[He sizes her up. She's short, can't be older than a teenager. There's a kind demeanor about her.] You a local or someone was taken here?
no subject
Thank you for the compliment.
( he’s older, taller, seemingly the playful type. shiemi knew the knew the kind. )
I was taken here about two months ago. ( she couldn’t believe she had been here that long. ) It feels like a dream, you know?
no subject
Damn... I hope I don't end up saying I've been here two months because it definitely feels that way. [though maybe this was his second chance at life. Those back in his world didn't want him there.] Though dreams as far as I know? They can be good or bad. In my case, it might be a good thing.

She was half-way through a blueberry vodka martini when she saw that he ordered what appeared to be healthy food at a bar. Being somewhat of a snob at times, she'd never actually ordered food there, figuring bar food was a step away from sharing microwaved chicken nuggets shaped like dinosaurs with Jaune. ]
I've been here for years and I had no idea you could get vegetables at a bar that weren't deep fried.
no subject
[but it was on the menu that anything you want, they'd try to make due. then he eyed her drink, curiously.] What's that you're drinking?
no subject
Blueberry vodka martini. I know it's not exactly the standard, but I'm not into tormenting myself to pretend I like something tasteless or malodorous. Yours?
no subject
Putting the glass to his lips he took a sip.]
You know, they find a decent singer once every ten of so singers. It's nice that they have fun though, don't you think?
