video; Beika Subarchway
[Conan looks happy... in comparison to his usual sourness. He knew that this wasn't the true Beika, no more than the London he had once seen in a virtual reality computer game had been the London of Holmes.
Still, it raised his mood just to see it for the first time in years. He hadn't dared to go near the agency yet, of course. He wasn't sure what his reaction would be if there were copies here of people he knew. ]
I know that these places are just copies, but it's really quite amazing how close they come. I-
[He breaks off his comment as something catches his attention. Conan pauses for a second in thought, and then frowns as he comes to a quick decision.]
And I'm going to have to finish this later. Sorry Dairine, looks like I'll be late getting home.

If you don't get back in 24 hours, I'm looking for you.
[She can tell from context that he is in a subarchway. One mimicking Tokyo if her time in different copies of that city doesn't fail her.]
Re: Video
[The reply came almost absently. Most of Conan's attention was on the people he was following. ]
Video
[Dairine does not sound convinced.]
Are you in the Tokyo subarchway?
Re: Video
Video
When did we get that one?
Re: Video
Re: Video
Are you serious.
Re: Video
[How often did he joke?]
Re: Video
[Why would he volunteer to lose part of himself over a copy?!]
Re: Video
Re: Video
Which makes giving up a piece of yourself worth it how?!?
Re: Video
Compared with that, what I gave up was worth it.

What did you give up?

Is that Beika...?
[ There's a moment of silence then he breaks out in a grin. This could be fun~ ]
.... wait. Tantei-kun, don't tell me you found trouble already.
Re: [Video]
Where is the archway and where in Beika are you?
[ Considering every other time Conan has found trouble around here... ]
Re: [Video]
[Conan muffles his voice as he gets closer to the suspicious pair he'd noticed earlier. If he was right, they were headed for the restaurant parking lot.]
[ KID's already moving, figuring out the best route to take. ]
You know, we really need to find some way to supervise you.
Re: [Video]
[Said as he's following after several suspicious men who are probably up to no good. ]
And I don't need supervision.

He speaks quickly into the phone.]
Sorry, I have to end this here.
[He quickly slips the phone into his pocket, and runs forward. Keeping close to the cover of the others cars in the parking lot, he slips behind the three criminals, then quickly kicks a soccerball as a distraction, then runs in as the three criminals are distracted. A sedative dart later, and the third criminals falls. Conan grabs the kid's hand and urges him to run.
And then Conan makes a mistake. Rather than immediately running with the kid, he stays behind for a moment to make sure that he was getting far enough away.
And one of the remaining criminals picks him up by the back of the collar and throws him into the van. As he hears the door lock, he can hear one of them mention that one hostage was as good as any other.
And then the engine of the car starts.
Good luck finding him, Kaito.]
[Video -> Audio]
And KID's voice cuts off as the sounds from the other end go muffled. What the hell- well, at least no matter what was going on, KID at least could hear it. He's quiet for a long moment, ears straining to hear what's going on. After a few minutes, it's faint, but he can hear someone mention a hostage and a engine starting.
KID curses in the back of his mind, trying to think of a course of action. He's not sure what gadgets Conan has on him, but he'll have to trust that it's his normal assortment. Which means he'll have to stop by the kid's apartment to gather not only some gear but pick up his roommate as well.
Because KID knows better then to try and stage a rescue attempt without cluing Dairine in on what's going on. He doesn't have that much of a death wish, thank you very much. ]

If you say I told you so, I will be redecorating all the entrances to my apartment with fish.

What the hell? How did Tantei-kun know about that? He certainly hadn't told him and no one here even know about that!
It takes a minute for him to get his trembling under control before managing to release his hand from it's death grip and tapping back: ]
Whatever are you talking about?
Re: Audio/Action
[And the morse code abruptly cuts off as the sound of an opening door and angry shouts come over the communicator.]
Hey! The brat has a phone! He'd talking to someone!
What are you waiting for then? Get it away from him. And make sure he doesn't talk to anyone else.
[And with a loud klunk, the communicator signal cuts out. ]
