Can alcohol make you go deaf?

That's a sign of going deaf, right?

As far as I'm aware, that would be the definition of going deaf.

However, I don't think your trouble is related to alcohol. You're not alone - it seems like a lot of people are going blind or deaf, or losing their sense of touch. So there's something larger at work here. And if we're lucky and this is like some of the other things the cities have thrown at us, it isn't permanent.
