[ACTION] [Joint Intro]
Who: Sai and Bankotsu
What: Waking up
Status: OPEN?? (but a fight might be breaking out, so...)
Rating: R??
His guard never once lowered.
With a careful eye, the shinobi had already taken the liberty of thoroughly inspected the items he’d awakened with (grateful to see an item he'd be...uncomfortable finding himself without). After his investigation of the place, Sai found himself carefully considering every option of how he might have ended up there. Reading the instructions on how to use the device helped, of course. In spite of doubt and confusion lurking in the back of his mind, he didn't let that deter him from gathering information. He used the device to determine that he was not the only person that had no idea how they arrived there.
A mass kidnapping would be a rather impressive task to accomplish…
He was well-practiced in never letting his guard down, so that was yet another thing that was causing him to really question the culprit’s abilities. What sort of power must they hold? A serious expression rested on his face as he spotted a stand filled with magazines. After reading the flier, Sai allowed one eyebrow to lift just barely.
DON’T PANIC…?
That’s a rather...interesting way to title a welcome flier.
~*~
While Sai busied himself learning as much as he could about their new surroundings, Bankotsu couldn't care less. After all, any place beat living for an eternity in hell. At first he was rather pissed about being dragged away from his brothers, but after some time he calmed down and figured that if he was here than the others would eventually follow.
So rather than waste time he decided to do his own kind of investigation. But he had no interest in the strange objects handed to him, let alone the knowledge needed to even turn the damn thing on. They were lucky he hadn't just smashed it. But like the shikon fragments he supposed that this item too would come in handy, once he got it figured out.
That was when he spotted the boy, and he was reading, this meant he was smart.
So the 17 year old made his way over, his giant halberd resting upon his shoulder. He grinned.
"Hey you, think you can help me with something?"
He asked, but really he wasn't planning on giving the guy an option. He either helped or he would drag the information out.

"Hey you, think you can help me with something?"
He asked, but really he wasn't planning on giving the guy an option. He either helped or he would drag the information out.

He then gave a feigned smile, speaking in a calm tone, "That depends."
And...it did. He wouldn't be going out of his way to help anyone. For starters, he had his own mission currently in place- which was to get back to the village. Perhaps the stranger could provide him with answers.

So this guy was a fighter, good to know, perhaps he'll have some fun with him later.
His eyes lower, and the grin spreads out further, his own guard down but not to be mistaken as an opening. Bankotsu was well trained, and could bring it up in a second, though he wouldn't really have too with the way he wielded his massive sword.
"Oh? And what do you want?" He didn't have much to offer, but if it wasn't anything big then he didn't mind going through with it.
Though that hardly saved him from death. Now that Bankotsu was closer he could tell a lot more about Sai. Smart and strong...He would make a good addition to his head count.

"It would make more sense for you to state your business, before asking what it is that I desire, would it not? After all, it was you who approached me."
The black-haired teenager's tone, in spite of being to-the-point, wasn't exactly rude. He simply wished to know what the other teenager's request was. It wouldn't be until after that, that he decided if he'd even negotiate with him on any level.

A job was a job, and he always found ways to complete it.
"I guess so." He grabs the phone out and tosses it over the ninja, not really concerned about the devices wellbeing. Right now it was nothing but a hunk of weird future junk.
"You know anything about those things?"
so not sorry for this
He pulled out his own and held it for the stranger to see, "Seems they saw fit to give everyone something to communicate with one another."
A pause, then in a deadpan tone, "Did you not receive instructions, or does reading pose a challenge for you?"
no subject
If he was going to talk to someone, he preferred to do it in person.
But as he was thinking it over, deciding if it was worth keeping or not, he was pulled back to the conversation by the others question. He doesn't seem insulted by it, and really he wasn't.
"What, is that so surprising? Where I'm from only the rich and holy are so privileged." He says, a smirk forming across his face.
He wasn't really lying, nor did he completely tell the truth either. He knew of a few villagers who could read, but still illiteracy was a major problem during his time. He did try to learn as much as he could during his travels, it just never proved to be enough.

The vibe he got from the stranger was strange. He could tell there wasn't complete truth to his words, but regarding what? Why would someone lie about something as small as that? With an almost scrutinizing expression, he asked--
"I see. And where would that be?"
no subject
...Did it really have to have so many damn buttons though? Hell he couldn't even call those weirdly textured things buttons, they just looked weird, this entire thing just looked really, really weird.
He glanced back up when Sai started talking again, giving him a dull look. Wow, was he still on that?
"Does it matter?" Sorry, he wasn't much of a conversationalist.
"You're smart, you can read the instructions, I can't. So how about being a pal and sharing the information?" Aka, let’s get back to the point shall we?
no subject
Which had begun to appear as anything but the case, "I suppose not," he said, then glanced to the side, "Though, I'm actually quite busy."
Busy trying to figure out where he was, where any of his comrades were, and maybe not helping someone he wasn't even sure he could trust. Understandable, right? Sorry, pal.
So, with that, he was going to turn to go.
no subject
He really didn't want to bother going out and finding another smart guy. Sai wasn't the only one who was very, very busy. "Are you?" He say's as a dark look entering his expression.
This entire conversation had turned out into a huge waste of time, precious...precious time. And Bankotsu did not appreciate that, mostly when there was no guarantee how long he would live in this cycle. For all he knew, today could be the day he falls again.
“Well, so am I.”
And he lunges forward, swinging that huge sword as if it weighed nothing and aiming for the guy's neck. "And I think your head will be enough payment for wasting my time!"

Sai ignored the other young man's words as he continued walking- that was, until he caught the movement in the corner of his eye. He reacted instantaneously, legs tensing just enough for him to leap into the air, dodging away from the oncoming blade. Well, good thing he had listened to his gut, then...
The black-haired young man's expression tensed as he quickly recovered a scroll and brush, taking just seconds to paint a bird, while mid-air. Just like that, a large bird was summoned from the painting. Leaping on his temporary ally, he was taking to the air to put space between himself and the stranger.
He didn't have time for fighting. There were far more important things for him to focus on, and fighting some stranger wasn't included in his to-do list, thanks. So, Sai was going to focus on getting away as quickly as possible. He could deal with the stranger, at a later time- which, he would, if it truly became a necessity. Sai wasn't a coward, but he was certainly logical. Logically speaking, fighting an unknown enemy one-on-one without knowing even their name was practically suicide.
A pointless suicide, at that.

Not really though, neither was the type to make friends so easily, and definitely not with some stranger they just ran into on the street.
His grin widens when the other dodges, proof that he was a capable fighter at least. But then it fades for a moment as his eyes widen a fraction.
Well, it would appear this man was more then he seemed. But that wasn't going to save him...
Bankotsu fell into the attack and with a quick step he flung himself into the air, using the force created from the swing to propel him. He then lifts his arm, twirling the sword like a propeller and in moment he'd caught up to the bird.
The life span of this specific art work was going to have to be cut short unfortunately.
And with a downward slash he cut into the creation, aiming to take out Sai's legs as well. With a thump he lands on the ground, and turns to survey the damage. Did he knock down his prey, or did the ninja have more tricks up his sleeve?
no subject
Sai watched Bankotsu bring himself high into the air, his expression not relaying any signs of worry. Well, it wasn't the first time anyone had managed to bring themselves up close and personal. Then, he saw the blade lifting, and Sai was already moving.
...Yes, the ninja did have more tricks up his sleeve.
Not even pausing after leaping to his feet, Sai used to back of the painted bird to hurl himself into the air, scroll at ready. Unfortunately, the enemy had moved quickly enough to, not only take the bird out, but to get one of Sai's legs. In spite of the pain, within seconds, he managed to paint ten hawks. Said birds were instantly dive-bombing Bankotsu from all sides.
In spite of the birds being aggressive, they weren't more of an attack, than a decoy. Sai was using them to focus on painting another bird to land on, then jump down from- hey, falling from the height they'd been at could have been deadly. Especially with the rather deep leg injury.
Sai was immediately aiming to land on the branch of a tree, eyes searching for the enemy, to figure out which direction he needed to flee in.

He notices the birds and with a quick motion he spins, taking them all out in one hit. During the motion he spotted his prey land, so before he even stops he's moving again, practically throwing himself into the air.
"boo" He says, noticing the little mouse moving to search him out, well you'll find him easily enough. His shadow looming over you as he aims a horizontal strike for your head once more and slashing right through the tree like it was paper already.
Sorry bro he's got no beef with you :|
As he'd done enough of, already, which had resulted in that damn injury to his leg.
Leaping up and away from the tree branch, Sai's teeth clenched briefly. The sharp point of wooden debris managed to get him right in the side. Okay, enough was enough!
Without pause, and while still midair, the fingers of his right hand lifted to his mouth. Bankotsu likely wouldn't be able to tell what he was doing, until he was already surrounded by what appeared to be black ink. Sai had no reason to fight this guy, however. He had no desire to put his life at a meaningless risk, just because the person had managed to land a couple of injuries on him. Within a matter of seconds, he was gone.
[Action] Possibly after their fight?
Upon arriving, surveying the vicinity was not a problem for the young kunoichi. It didn't take long for her to realize there were people around the magazine stand where she got her flier. She immediately dashed towards the area and quietly examined the two men from behind.
She noticed that one man had a head protector with the symbol of Konohagakure while the other man was clearly armed. She could only presume that the other man was also a shinobi.
"Are the two of you from the Hidden Leaf village?", she asked interrupting her silence and taking a few steps closer to them.
