Just when he had finally been convinced that the androids of the present -- or, from his perspective, the alternate past -- were not an issue, this happens. Particularly after 18 had been so open about being married. He composes himself before responding.]

I'll join you, but I need more information. This might sound odd coming from me, of all people, but it seems out of character for 18. Even the version from my timeline wouldn't have betrayed somebody she loved -- I've seen her get furious with her brother more times than I can count, but they always had each other's backs.

I'll be honest, I'm just as confused as you. She'd been acting more distant than normal, but then all of a sudden she started talking about how I didn't really love her and that she's not who we think she is and all that.

..It was a lie though. She's trying to convince herself of something.

[He just scratches his head for a second.] I was hoping you could help talk some sense into her.

I don't know how much help I'd be in that department. I'd expect to be more of an insurance policy in case things go south. You know 18 far better than I do -- at least this version.

But I'll do what I can. If her power level is still what it was when I returned to my own time, then she wouldn't have a chance against me if she tried to fight. And she knows it. Hopefully that's all we'll need.

She was talking about how she was only a killing machine like what Gero had programmed. I figured since you've seen how different she is to the 18 of your world, you could debunk that better than I could.

I really hope it doesn't come to a fight, but yeah... you should still be able to take her. And I trust you not to break anything if it comes to that. ...I appreciate the help, Trunks.
