[There were always so many of those strange cocoons in the Bay. No one who woke up there ever seemed to question if there were other people in them or not. Surely if they weren't ALL in the Bay, people still found some. But did anyone ever check? Was there any care given to the other pods? No. People just left them, and carried on with their own business, wanting to get to their own world. No one cared for anyone else, really.]

[One such pod's lid gets blown off in the dank cave at the Bay, and from within spring out crackles of what look like ice shaped like lightning bolts - accompanied by frenzied shouting.]

YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!! AHAHAHAHA-- Ah?

[With bones creaking and popping, a blue imp of a man sat up from within the pod and looked around.] Whadda-whaaa...? Where am I? [He scowls.] One minute you're fighting off do-gooders and the next you're waking up in a refrigerator. But seriously, where am I?

[As if to answer him, he notices the box in his lap. He immediately lights up with glee.] Ohhhh! Someone got me a prezzie! How thoughtful! Hrm, no tag though... Must be from a seeeecret admirrrrerer. Oooooh~ Princess Bubblegum, I knew you always cared! [He tore into it immediately, to find the strange amulet, the phone, the money and the pamphlet. He could sense the magic in the amulet clearly, but the pamphlet took priority. He read through it muttering to himself.]

GENESSIA?! I've never heard of it. And what's this about getting a job? This is bull-hoohie. [He crumples it up and tosses it away, then awkwardly climbs out of the pod to step in the water and... wander towards the nearest city.] Hello? Helllllooooo? Bah. Where did everyone go? Finn? Finn's Dog? ... Slime Princess?

[Later, some video phones may have gotten a sudden message in the form of the man's long-nosed face and snow white beard.] Dangit, confounded technology. Never did know how to work one of these-- Oh! Hey is this thing on? Hello? If you're listening, respond with a long silence.

[Long silence.]

... Great! So hey, how it gooooo~ing? I'm new around town and I was wondering if there were any Princesses around this [Finger-quote]"Genessia"[Finger-quote] that could show me a good time? If you aren't completely ugly, I might consider settling in here for a while! With a brand new ice palace and everything... AND NO FINN OR JAKE! >:D Anyway... you there?

[She'd been floating, asleep, near the top of her pod... until you shouted. there's a muffled thump as she jolts awake and hits her head on the top of it, then it busts open, Marceline ready to yell at the guy. While in scary mode.]

WHAT THE GLOB ARE YOU DOING?! [And then she sees who it is, deflating with a sigh and a slight eye roll. Seriously, what are you playing at?] Oh, it's you. [There's a pause as she looks around. Well. This is definitely not where they were.] What have you done this time?

Uh? Huh? [The Ice King looked away from his pod to a nearby one, and his face lit up.] Marceline! Oh Marceline! [Upon exiting his pod, he scurried over to the supposedly terrifying Vampire Queen and went in for a much-too-friendly hug.]

Hey you're practically a Princess, right? So this place isn't so bad! Nyehehehe~ [Then he paused.] What did I do? What did YOU do? I didn't do nothin'!

[As he pulls her in for a hug, she pushes him away, cheeks colouring furiously. As much as she lets him hang around, it's things like this that still make her feel weird about him being friends with her.] Ugh, get off me.

[She adjusts the brim of her hat as soon as she's free - and she is very glad that at least that came with her - crossing her arms with a majorly unimpressed face] I keep telling you, I'm nothing like those- [Arrrgh. Why is she even arguing this with you? Again! She throws her hands up.] It wasn't me! This is totally the sort of thing you'd end up doing. [By accident more than likely, or she'd like to think not on purpose, but still.] ...Are you sure you didn't do anything?

[Simon always rolled with the punches. Being shoved off and into the water, he just got up again and wrung out his beard.]

Well I'm telling you, I. DIDN'T. DO. ANYTHING. Last thing I remember is trying to valiantly save Princess Bubblegum from Finn's clutches, and then poof! '3'

[He waves his arms in that noodle-like fashion above his head.] But if I diiiiiid do sooooomething, then it's an amaaaaaazing display of my wizarrrrd pooooowwwwerrrrssss~ WoooOOOoOOoOoo~

... [She shakes her head, sighing again. He incites that reaction from her a lot more than anyone else, she's noticed. Mind you, she probably puts up with a lot more from him than anyone else, if she's completely honest with herself - not something she is often where he's concerned, she'll admit, if only to herself.] Okay. I'm going to believe you this time.

[Her head ducks as she has a small chuckle at the display.] It definitely wasn't you then. Your wizard powers are pretty lame. [And she might be kind of teasing. a little.

She reaches into her pod that she's floating by, taking out her box that appeared with her.] Weird. [But you got one too, so she's gonna guess this is hers.] Well, I'm going to go look around.

[She pauses at him just inviting himself along, a little less than comfortable with this one. You hanging out is kind of cool and all, but this...? Yeah, this might just be a little too reminiscent of that time. At least at first glance, with the parallels of unknown landscapes (the cities had changed so much, even if she hadn't been old enough to know the cities so they had been pretty unknown to her) and they don't know what's out there (could be monsters just like then) and- she can't. Too much weird. So her knee-jerk reaction is a super quick] No way.

[She gives him a puzzled look before opening her box and- oh. that's got to be what he's on about. she pulls it out, holding it up to examine it.] This thing? It looks totally tacky to me.

[Of course the Ice King has no recollection of that time. It'd been so long that his mind was all but lost. All he knows is that he likes Marceline, even if she doesn't like him back very much. When she out-right denies his company, he gasps aloud.] N... No... way? Like... no way José? And yes, well, it may look tacky, but it's a magical necklace with a mysterious power. [Despite the way he's wiggling his fingers, he's completely serious.]

[But then he just falls to his knees and grabs onto her legs.] Come on Marceline! You can't just ditch me! That's very uncool! ;3; Who else have ya got around here?

[His wiggly fingers earn an eyebrow raise.] I don't suppose you could be any more specific with that, could you?

And yes, like no way José! [And she knows he doesn't remember, which is one of the main reason it kills her down where she keeps her secret feelings that she doesn't like to show anyone ever.

And then he's grabbing at her legs.] Glob, don't do that! [She reaches down to push his hands off her legs, floating up a little higher.] Ditch you?! It's not like I chose to come here with you, Simon! [Stop making her feel guilty :|]

[Well now he's gone and forgotten about the amulet, and is instead completely engrossed in somehow trying to keep her from abandoning him.] Well... well.. it's not like I chose to come here with YOU either!

[...And that hits her in a way she wishes it wouldn't. She slumps a little. And then a bit further at the usual confusion of his name. She doesn't know why she calls him it, it's not like she thinks it'll just... snap him back.

But she really does know better. The hat is lifted off her head long enough for her to drag her fingers through her hair, but not long enough for her skin to do more than a quick sizzle and a flash of pain. It's just a habit she has, she didn't even think about it until after she felt the pain. Oops.] ...Because it's your name.

Okay. Okay, you can come. [She already knows she's going to regret this.]

[He does a little happy dance by lifting his robes a little to show off his knobby legs and kick them like a stage dancer. He splashes water all over the place.]

Okay then! [He finally gets the sense to fly as well, hovering above the water by... flapping his beard. People were going to find that so weird.] Come on then, bestie! Let's get out there and see what this Genessia has in store for us!

[She shields herself from the water.] Ew, yuck. Quit it! [And she pulls a face as she does it. Really, Ice King? and she's not smiling on the inside, not at all.

Marceline doesn't sigh again as he takes off, although it's probably a very close thing. Instead, she nods and sets to flying towards the city, pulling herself together. look at how happy he is, at least? And she has no idea that this is going to be weird for people here, so she doesn't even think about telling him to walk.

Come on, stupid, it's no different to letting him hang at your house or play music with you, or whatever. That's what she's telling herself, anyway. Even if it really kind of is.] Hopefully somewhere with dry clothes. You got me completely soaked.
