[Video/Action at the Bay]

[A small dragon appears in the video feed, which some may find quite familiar, except that her colors were far different. She also lacks the patterns on her face and frills, but the top of her head appears to have a yellow sparkle to it. On top of that, she looks very, very worried as she listens to the hologram explaining the situation. She studies the strange device in her talons, unaware that it's already broadcasting.]

Oh no...am I really trapped here? Then...Cane and Snowy must be here, too...right? I have to find them...

[They had to be here, since she had been traveling with them just before winding up here. She crawls along the bay on all fours, hoping to avoid any enemies that may be waiting to ambush her. Without Cane and Snowy, she feels much more vulnerable. From the Bay, she takes a random turn, beginning to reluctantly explore this unknown world...]

[Action: Everglade (Evening/Night)]

[Liora has definitely chosen the wrong city to explore. The dark magic she senses here is tremendous, and it makes her extremely uncomfortable. Plus, if Erebus is in this world, he would definitely be in this city. And she does not want to encounter Erebus again...]

[What's worse, she's forgotten the way back to the archway to exit the city. Like the bay, she'll crawl as low as she can to hopefully avoid being spotted. However, with her glittery scales and wings, she'll stick out like a sore thumb in such a dark city...]

[As per usual, Caelestis was out on patrol in the streets of Everglade - even moreso recently as if to make up for lost time when he was temporarily blinded. He had just aided a creature being wrongfully hunted and escorted it back to the forest where it belonged and was back into the dimly lit streets of the city.

Having the sharp eyesight that he does, he catches the glitter of gold moving nearby. Upon realizing what it was, and realizing it resembled the dragon he'd spoken to previously, he would take a few steps closer before stopping at a reasonable distance. He didn't want to cause the dragon alarm, so he knelt nearby and speaking gently.]

Pardon me. Are you alright?

[Liora stops, gazing up at him like a cautious cat. He looks like he could be one of the Harpy Beastclans. She keeps still, noting his polite manners, but ready to take off if necessary.]

I'm...I'm so lost...

[He makes certain not to make any sudden movements, keeping still and making sure she can visibly see his hands aren't anywhere near the hilt of his sheathed saber. His ear feathers twitched slightly, making certain he's still alert enough in case any creatures approach, but maintaining his focus on her.]

Is there anywhere in the city you're trying to get to? Or are you trying to leave Everglade to get back to Genessia City?

I...don't even know where I am. Is this..."Everglade?" The name doesn't seem to fit...I can sense so much darkness here...

[She gives him a slightly hopeful look, deciding to trust him for the moment. It's better than being alone.]

I would like to get out of this...city...

This city is the most dangerous of this realm's five cities, particularly at night. All manner of dark creatures roam this city.

[He nods to her, offering her a faint smile. He may not smile often, but he does want to give him some reassurance.]

I can escort you out of here if you'd like. My name is Caelestis. I'm one of the city's Rangers, so I provide aid to whoever wants to traverse through the city safely.

Dark creatures...?

[Well, that doesn't sound very promising...]

Then I definitely don't want to be here...especially if they're all after me...

[She straightens herself, standing on her feet now.]

Um...my name is Liora. Do you know of a dark dragon named Erebus?

Oh, I don't know about trapped; maybe "compulsively invited?"

As for Cane and Snowy...sorry, but I very much doubt it. So many look for familiar faces; rare are those who are satisfied.

But unfamiliar faces can do, in a pinch. Welcome to Genessia; I'm Ted. Can I have your name?

[The Light dragon jumped at first, blinking at the device.]

It...it talks?? But...what do you mean by "compulsively invited?"

[She looks confused when he asks for her name. She's sort of getting used to everyone knowing who she is already...]

You...want my name? I'm Liora...

Heh, it does indeed! Or rather, it acts as a medium for those who'd like to talk, if not for the meddling of space. Suppose I mean something pleasant, yet forceful. So many find the two irreconcilable.

Oh! That's...that's Hebrew, isn't it? "Light for me", it means. What a wonderful name! Though somehow I doubt you come from there.

Well, is there anything you need? Some comfort I can supply?

Hebrew? I don't know what that is either...I'm from Sornieth.

And well...I am a Light dragon, so I suppose the name suits me.

Anything I need...I'd like to find my friends. Or at least Cane and Snowy...

[Yukiko was carrying a few bags of groceries for the inn when she stopped to look over at something she hadn't seen before. Sure she had seen dragons and such in Fayren and she was sure there had been one about any of the cities, but this one looked different.]

Ah, hello there. You seem a little lost.

['All after her'? He can't help but wonder if she was in some trouble where she came from. If that were the case, it would explain how she was acting. He shakes his head.]

Erebus? No, I'm not familiar with the name. As far as I'm aware, there are no dragons taking residence in this particular city.

[He frowns.]

Forgive my inquiry, but is this dragon after you?

That's...good to know. I don't think I can handle another encounter with him so soon...

Erebus...he is after me for some reason...and the Beastclans as well. When I met Erebus, he already knew who I was. He told me that I have a spark that no other dragon in Sornieth has...but I have no idea what he means...

[She's not even sure if Erebus and the Beastclans are after her for the same reason. She looks up at the figure before her.]

But you...you look like you could be from the Harpy clan. You're not...one of them, are you...?

[Liora stopped, staring up at her on all fours. Were it not for Yukiko having legs, she looked like she could be a Serthis.]

I...I am lost. I just woke up over there... [She points towards the Bay.] Is there really no way to get home?

Heh, better than "Lucifer", anyway; a light-bearing dragon of a much less pleasant sort.

Oh! You might know Azalea, then. I hope you've got enough common sense for the both of you; don't tell her this, but she's had me worried sick with her current predicament with illusions. Maybe a real person would be just the thing to break the spell. Her aside, I think you'll have to content yourself with new friends. There's certainly a good variety, if nothing else.

[Her eyes widen at the familiar name.]

Azalea? She's here? And what illusions do you speak of? Did Erebus do something to her?

[She stopped herself a bit too late, realizing that she just threw out a name without knowing whether this person even knows what she's talking about.]

Um...do you know of a dark dragon named Erebus?

[Plaintive]

No, I'm afraid it's something she's done to herself.

[Back to smiles!]

No, thankfully. Sounds like one of the slay-worthy dragons, which thankfully we've been spared from for as long as I've known the world.

Well there was one which embodied gluttony, but he met his end readily enough, I believe.

Something she's done to herself? I don't understand...

Who was the one who embodied gluttony?

[It would be good to know, since she's still kind of paranoid right now...]

It's...hard to explain, and tragic besides. But I suppose you ought to know sooner or later.

In this world, upon sacrifice, you can create what's called a "subarchway", or a kind of...false, soulless replica of the world you knew. Azalea did that and became...very taken with it. [There's a touch of grave concern in his voice.]

So perhaps, if you're here, she might not cleave to such things.

Oh, the name? I don't quite recall. Something Latin, maybe, if not "Gluttony" itself.

That...doesn't seem so terrible. If nothing else, it'd be a place to retreat to if anyone comes after me. I just don't feel like I belong in this world. Azalea must have felt the same way...and I can't blame her, really...

Um...would you know of any dragons named Cane and Snowy? They were with me just before I woke up here...

[Another dragon, another persecution complex. Ted wondered what the reason was, beyond the obvious of dragons being evil.]

I'd be worried if you felt you truly belonged to the world in any of its guises. Your light would be quite transient, then.

Believe me, it's much worse than you think. Those false worlds defile the memories they're made from, as well as paying insult to all outside should they be loved above truth. Those who dwell in them will diminish, if not perish altogether.

As I said before, I don't know them, and I've got a good head for who comes and goes. Please, consider this...a vacation, of sorts. Your own locality is quite removed; you'd do well to enjoy the present, and leave the past behind where it belongs.

[It's exactly Ted's way of thinking that gives these dragons their persecution complex.]

I can't just take a vacation. The Lightweaver has sent me to find the Fae of Light. So I have to find her...

Huh! Maybe it's your destiny to find it here! What is that, anyway? And the Lightweaver too, while you're at it.

Find her here? I...highly doubt that. According to the prophecy, the Fae of Light will lead dragonkind to an age of prosperity if she is found.

The Lightweaver is one of the elemental gods, the reigning god of the Light flight. There are ten others who oversee dragonkind as they shape and discover the world.

[She shakes her head slightly, when people asked that question she wished that she could make it better by saying there was a chance, but she knew that wasn't the case.]

Sadly there is no way home willingly. But I like to think there are people who are working on it.
