[Ryuuji didn't get the chance to speak to Gaara or Ishtar after their first engagement, but the teen didn't forget how unfed they looked when he was talking to them. Being the kind guy he was, just couldn't overlook it, and it was in his power to fix it. It was an easy thing to do. With the right amount of food intake and the proper diet, they should look like themselves in a couple weeks!

Cooking was something that came easily to him. He did all of the household chores back home and while he was living with Luke. When it came to making some bento for them all, Ryuuji didn't even sweat over it. Granted he probably shouldn't be buying this much food until he could make more money, but he would feel worse knowing they weren't eating properly.]

He tries to explain, though he isn't comfortable with going into detail.] It isn't... something I am accustomed to. Acts of kindness, that is.

[He didn't want to cause the other to stress because of this.]

If it's too much trouble, you don't have to take it.

[He shakes his head.] Not uncomfortable. [Just unworthy.]

Perhaps we could... share a meal together. One day.

[This isn't the first time he has ever put himself out there, but it doesn't feel any less frightening. There's always that fear of being rejected.]

When he answers, Gaara releases a tense breath that he doesn't even know he had been holding.]

Very well. [Brief pause.] At your convenience. [He assumes Ryuuji will be looking for some kind of work, and doesn't want to make any assumptions about his schedule.]

[He didn't think poorly of Gaara. Ryuuji actually sure what he should think. It was the kind of judgement he was withholding until he got to know him.]

[It was different working. But Luke didn't want him working all the time, so he had free time too.]

[He nods in acknowledgment, though that does make him curious.]

Have you... procured employment? As a chef, perhaps?

[Forgive him, Ryuuji. He's not good at making casual conversation. It's usually all business, in his line of profession.]

Ah--no, nothing like that.

[He was a respective cook, but he would never consider himself a chef.]

I do janitorial work. Keep things clean. [The cleanest!]
