[Video]

[ Everyone's all running around now because of the sudden changes that's gone on, changing everyone into some manner of inhuman creature. Himself included. No it hadn't been the most painless thing; admittedly he'd been asleep in one of the trees in a park within Genessia when the changes had hit, the pain initially knocking him out of it but once he realized what he was?

Oh. Boy.

So that is why when Karma appears on screen just then, his skin impossibly pale and a grin revealing a pair of otherwise sharp fangs? He looks actually amused over this change of events. ]

Just when I was starting to get a little bored, this bit of fun turns up. Who would have thought this was even possible?

[ Looking pleased with himself, he turned and with the hand not holding his device? Thrust one hand out and punched a tree solidly, though it's initially hard to tell other than the resonating CRACK that sounds through the air before the video focuses on his face. Along with.. you know... the tree groaning and falling to the ground in a rustle of leaves. ]

Huh. So I was right. My strength really HAS increased.

[ Does he look put off that he literally just took down a tree? Nope. It wasn't any of the biggest ones but nor was it a small one either. Whoops. Hope the local authorities wouldn't come after him for this. ]

My bad. I had absolutely no idea that I could do that.

[ Karma's voice holds a tone of feigned innocence but his grin hasn't completely wavered yet, shrugging his shoulders after a moment and regarding everyone who can see this. His already orange-eyes seem to err a bit on the red side now, but one would have to look closely to see this kind of thing. ]

Someone please tell me I'm not the only one having some fun with this happening.

[ If anyone's around this particular park in Genessia after his little post can find him testing out his heightened speed, along with occasionally jumping up through any taller trees and managing feats of unusually skilled acrobatic type moves through the branches. Not something he needed to be a vampire to be capable of but it remains nonetheless that he's indeed taking more than his share of amusement.

Heck, even at one point he spots someone unassuming and manages to sneak up behind them without so much as a sound. ]

You should be careful around here. Someone might find you to be tasty enough for their next meal.

[ Karma's not dumb enough to attack a human but he LOVES being ridiculously cheeky about making people believe what he wanted them to. Wasn't this not the time to instill fear in others? ]

[ shiemi however, was capable of ignoring her new enhancements for the most part. she had fairy wings that vaguely reminded her of translucent dragonfly wings, and of she moved them fast enough she could hover a few inches off the ground, but it wasn’t anything too spectacular.

she was doing a bit of shopping in genessia, but for nothing too expensive. she was actually headed back home before someone spoke behind her, sounding as if they were only inches from her neck. she yelps softly in surprise, jumping back and putting some distance between her and the red headed male in the meantime. ]

Umm… I don’t… I-I don’t think you’re being very r-realistic. [ her wings flutter behind her cautiously. ] I wouldn’t b-be tasty in the slightest…

[ Reactions like that were solely why he had decided to do this, looking fairly amused when the blond yelped and made to put a bit of distance between them.

For the most part he didn't even look that dangerous, if one wasn't looking closely enough to spot his fangs whenever he smiled. Which he was doing as he tilted his head to the side while regarding her calmly. ]

Oh, but that's where you're wrong! Innocent girls like you would make the best meals, don't you know?

[ Don't worry. He's not going to actually hurt you, Shiemi. ]

Umm… I hope you aren’t considering eating any girl. Or me.

[ she’s startled, and she isn’t paying too much attention to his fangs,although she does notice them while he smiled and tilted his head as if he had not scared her in the first place. ]

Everyone must really like Halloween. [ she did too, but jump scaring someone like that in the close-to-evening afternoon was a line she wasn’t crossing. ] Are… have you turned into a monster too?

Not at the moment. Just trying to see who I can get the best reaction out of, you could say.

[ Giving the most casual shrug, as if this was nothing. Considering what he did to actual ASSASSINS back home after beating them in battle? Yeah. This wasn't nearly as bad as what he could do. ]

How can most people not like it? It's fun seeing how much fear you can get out of people during this, though not always with the fun addition of actually BEING something.

[ In that next instance, whatever distance she'd put between them was crossed in the span of a single second in a blue of movement on his part so he was only a foot away from her, pale orange eyes looking even more ominous in the minimal lighting around them. ]

[ in the spirit of halloween she thinks this is good, right? from how he spoke, he obviously didn’t have any cruel intentions.

It… might be fun scaring people, but it’s not as fun… if you’re the or being - ah!

[ he’s much more closer now, and she hadn’t even blinked yet. she loses her balance, cries out, falls disgracefully on her behind. ]

Ow… I d-don’t know… maybe you’ve always been like this? Owch… [ shakily she stands back up, wincing. ]

[ If she honestly knew what he was genuinely capable of? There would definitely be a cause for concern and a bit of fear, though it wasn't as if he just went around picking fights with girls or anything so she was safe. ]

Not as fun if you're the one on the receiving end. That sound about right?

[ W e l l. That, again, was more of a reaction than he'd been expecting from her and almost felt bad for how she'd fallen over like that. ]

Nah. Unfortunately I was just nothing more than a human before today, and besides. If I was like this for a while, would I really find it so amusing just to go around frightening people, hmm?

[ The red head can't help a surprised gasp, and she turns to face the source of the voice behind her. That's before her shoulders slump and she tries to calm down...

Keyword being try, seeing as she's wearing a cloak (does her back look malformed or is she hiding something back there?) and has visible black curled horns protruding from her forehead. Looks like this one isn't quite human for the moment. ]

... Duely noted, but I had not known that I was to worry for cannibals in this place.

[ Oh, he'd definitely noted the cloak and how unusually shaped it made her back look when he'd approached.

He wouldn't exactly point it out or anything, though he still looked equally amused by her statement as one hand fell to rest along his hip. It was inevitable he'd end up catching one of the in-humans by surprise sooner or later, but it was all still fun all the same. ]

Cannibals? Hardly.

Feasting on people's skin and muscle doesn't exactly pique my interest.

[ His smile widens a touch and surely she'll be able to catch a glimpse of those too-sharp fangs of his. ]

Try something like considering what runs through your veins and you should catch on quick.

[ Ordinarily yes... But that doesn't necessarily work on someone who has absolutely no clue on what a vampire is.

So have a baffled look, Karma. ]

... You drink blood?

[ What. ]

[ Her response really came as something he COULD have poked at like he would have normally but decided to go easy on her for once. Maybe in some strange turn of events, she didn't actually know what a vampire was. ]

Of course! Blood is the one and only thing that can sustain a vampire.

[ Surely she may even notice now just how pale he was or that he didn't seem to be breathing at ALL. Some of this might actually be obvious, he would hope. ]

Sunlight will kill us and a stake to the heart will do the job either way, but they're the only ways you could.

I see. An interesting sort of creature, though not one I can say I have heard of before.

[ Weird to her, but considering that her world has demons and what they live off of? Blood sucking creatures are far from the most unbelievable thing she's encountered.

... Wait a minute. ]

Do I wish to know why you felt the need to give such a warning when you first walked up to me?

Nice moves. [Too nice for them to be entirely 'part of the package', as it were. He's going to be very wary around you, Karma - last person he met that could move like that was a really nasty hand with a whip.] Might want to dial the aura back a bit, though - people can sense that kind of bloodlust, even if they don't understand why. [He obviously knows nothing about Karma's true background. Maybe they should share stories sometime.]

[ A perk about having sharper than normal hearing did make it easier to catch when someone was talking to him, stopping to fix his gaze on the other with a smile ever present on his face. It would be wise to be wary around him as he could be incredibly unpredictable in what he intended to do around others, and here was no different. He was not only quick on his feet, but skilled in hand to hand combat, using weapons and utilizing his impeccably sharp mind with ease in situations. ]

If I knew how to do it, chances are I might have done so already.

[ Their teacher back home actually encouraged an active bloodlust considering what task they had to accomplish in the end, after all. ]

Though I admit it wasn't something others could really pick up on. Sure it has nothing to do with what i've been turned into?

[ They really did need to exchange stories. He liked hearing about the different worlds people came from, after all. ]

[Karma's probably got the edge on Soma in hand to hand, especially with how fast he is now - but he's vastly outgunned in the sorcery department. Kinda hard to dodge lightning, even when you can move faster than human sight can follow - and even harder to dodge a sword strike when you've been frozen in time. Soma's not terribly concerned for his own safety right now, is what I'm saying.]

I didn't know how to do it either, up until I had the ability forced upon me. I was hoping you'd have a little more control than I did. [Turned into. Which meant this was new to him, and he could already do stuff like that. Your threat level just got moved up to the area boss category, Karma. That being said, however, Soma has no desire to hurt anyone - even someone who, for all intents and purposes, has been turned into a cannibal. We all gotta eat, and he knew about the bloodbank in Everglade now.] Come to think of it, you look about the same age I was at the time. [...Why are you playing the senpai card, Soma? You're only about three years older than Karma.] How long have you had this little... problem?

[ Oh he had no intentions in trying to best someone who had the impeccable skills of MAGIC at their disposal. Not intending to just stupidly pick fights with others unless he completely knew what they were capable of; he wasn't an idiot, after all.

If anything he's more interested in this stranger, listening to him and seeming even more amused than he had been before. ]

Unfortunately not. Where I come from? That kind of thing was encouraged and it was never really a problem before I showed up here.

[ Whether or not he knew of the remote 'threat' level he posed at all, Karma didn't even seem to show it. Seeming entirely calm and at ease right now, it was at Soma's curious little comment that got his attention and gave him an idea of what the other actually was. ]

Yeah? I get the feeling you're much more acquainted with being a vampire than me, when you say things like that. [ He pauses to think over everything for a moment, letting off a soft hum. ] Around the same time as all the other inhumans started running about the cities... so really, not that long.

It's still something i'm trying to get used to, though it is kind of fun.

I see. [...Is that a faint note of pity? Anyplace that could encourage teenagers to cultivate a killing instinct like that... he didn't really want to consider it. There were enough problems in a 'normal' world without that kind of thing cropping up.]

[He laughs, relaxing a bit.] Not really. It happened to me about three years ago, though under markedly less friendly circumstances. [He hmm's thoughtfully himself, then pulls out his phone to check the date. As he thought he remembered... October. Which meant Halloween.] Has something like this ever happened here before? Around a different holiday, perhaps?

[OOC Disclaimer: Soma might think he could take Karma in a fight. His mun knows otherwise. I apologize for the tone of my last post - my only excuse is that it's been a really, really bad week.]

[ If only Soma was actually aware of the circumstances of just why the idea of bloodlust was encouraged, there would likely have been much less of that pity at all. So he really didn't take offense to that faint note of aforementioned pity he'd heard within the other vampire's voice before. ]

Still. You have three more years of knowing how to deal with this than I do and that should count for something.

[ Karma shook his head, slipping his hands into his pockets with ease. ]

Can't really say. Haven't really been here in this world all that long.

Three years and a castle full of monsters. Two castles. [He shakes his head.] Soon to be three, if a certain person doesn't back off on the 'Join me or die' vibe, but that's neither here nor there.

[When Karma admits he hasn't been here long, Soma makes a mental note to ask someone who has. If his suspicion is correct, well... it'll be interesting to see what the place cooks up for certain other holidays.] I see. Is this the first time you've ever been taken to another world? [Technically, Soma wasn't sure if the time he was taken into the castle counted - after all, that was still technically the same reality as the one he knew and called home. This one... didn't seem to be.]

[It's bad enough that Liora already has issues with being scared all the time, especially being fairly new to this place. It didn't help that she actually has a creepy dark dragon stalking her back home. So when the redhead suddenly spoke from behind, the tiny dragon let out a shriek, darting up into the branches above her.]

No-no...no one would ever eat me...

[Even the Beastclans wouldn't do that, no matter how they wanted to kill dragons...]

[ The chances of spooking a human or someone inhuman was practically 50/50 and that hadn't quite stopped him before he'd followed through with this. So don't mind the bout of laughter he gets when he actually ended up scaring a poor little dragon, his gaze trailing up afterward to where she was among the branches. ]

You sure about that? There are those with all kinds of tastes in this world, and some that could just want a bite.

[ Not sorry at all. Though at least he doesn't seem like he's coming off with any sort of malicious intent for what it's worth. ]

I'm...I'm sure. I would be tough, and...not tasty at all! I know of all manner of beasts, and none would ever eat a dragon!

[Not even one her size. She's not about to come down anytime soon, nor does she seem ready to take off yet.]

[ Giving off a rather casual, nonchalant shrug of his shoulders, Karma watched her for a moment before shaking his head. He'd really gotten the poor thing frightened, didn't he? ]

Um...perhaps...but at least...some people have told me that they would help me if anyone...or anything came after me...

Good. Having allies in an unknown place can be your biggest asset, you know.

[ Karma could be knowledgeable when he chose to be, speaking a truth he himself believed in. With her being so small, allies would definitely be a plus for her in the long run. ]

Having a little bit of fun. Seeing what reactions I can get from others. Nothing that's really going to cause anyone harm.

[Despite her size, she could become much more powerful with more training, but unfortunately she hasn't reached that point yet. It'll be all the more difficult without Cane and Snowy, and she sort of doesn't want to continue training without them...]

[Liora frowns at the kid's statement, though.]

[ Acting as if it wasn't even that big a deal, his smile shows off the pointed fangs and seeming completely at ease right now. ]

Now. I don't intend to hurt you so why don't you come down here out of that tree? I admit i've never really seen anything like a talking dragon before.

[She ponders it for a brief moment and then concedes, gliding down from the tree and landing several feet in front of him.]

[Chiaki didn't feel exactly great. Since she changed and her fangs appeared she had been hungry and she had blatantly ignored it, trying instead to focus on her games. When that hadn't worked she had decided to try and go for a walk.

Feeling her stomach grumble again, she wrapped her arms around herself trying to get the thoughts out of her head. At least when someone spoke to her it was enough for her to not focus and instead look on over to the other.]

I very much doubt it.

[ If he was completely honest? Karma was kind of in the same boat as her but using all of this as a general distraction because he was genuinely trying to find an alternative to 'feeding' on humans because hey. Despite how he acted, the idea of that wasn't entirely the most appealing when it came down to it.

Though he had picked up on a lack of heartbeat for her as well, making them quite the same in this kind of regard. ]

You never know. There probably are some here who wouldn't have any problems trying to eat the undead like us.

[ Probably the most casual shrug ever. Totally unbothered by this. Yup. ]

In Everglade, maybe. But not here... I hope.

[She wouldn't know what she would do if she was targeted by someone she didn't know. If it had been someone she knew it was a different matter.]

[ Waving a hand dismissively, that lazy smile was still in place even as he'd spoken. This really had just been meant to try and get the scare on humans, not intending to attack them. ]

I may seem like I'm the type to try but really. I've got enough of a brain in my head not to do something THAT stupid.

If someone was defenceless, it wouldn't be stupid. But I guess if they had good connections it would be.

[She had her hands behind her back, sure she was a vampire but she didn't know how to actually fight outside of controls for video games. She knew she would probably lose if she ever had to.]

[When Nagisa had discovered his own new abilities and look to match, he couldn't help but want to try them out and simply have a bit of fun. He had gone to the park, knowing full well there would be trees and it wasn't long before he figured out he could actually merge with the tree.

After some time had passed and he learnt what exactly it was he could do, he just waited for some poor victim. That victim sadly happened to be someone who was currently jumping through the trees.

So expect a tree branch to suddenly move up just as one lands on it.]

[ Admittedly he was still learning what types of inhumans were running about so far. Having counted a couple werewolves, a couple of gargoyles, fairies, some other vampires like himself and even a centaur, there were some that he was missing as he hadn't encountered them yet.

More focused on the branches he was jumping to and from as he went through the trees, the sudden movement was enough to make him lose what newly-acquired footing he'd gained and would have fallen down if it hadn't been for his impossibly quick thinking. Which meant going with his momentum, hooked his legs around the branch so he'd merely just hang upside down like a bat might, his dark black jacket not helping with the imagery any. ]

I get the feeling you're not just any ordinary tree, are you?

[ May seem silly to some for asking but he had to make sure. ]

Nope, not a normal tree. I am a magical tree.

[He laughed slightly as he soon moved to stick his head out, giving a cheeky grin with his while willow bark like skin.]

Hello there. Glad to see you didn't fall down.

[ Raising an eyebrow at those words, it took a second for him to assess where all the other nearby branches were before he allowed himself to unhook his legs from around the branch. Not dropping down too far as he grabbed a branch near his head with both hands and swung himself back up to where he'd been before, sitting on it now with such relative ease. ]

Hey. I'm sure anyone else might've had a bad fall, but you don't have to worry about that with me.

[ It takes a second but he definitely recognizes Nagisa from his first day here. ]

Nice to see you're still around and even having fun with this.

Nah, if they had fallen I would be quick enough to catch them. Besides not many people can climb these trees anyway.

[At least he was sure about that considering hoe long he had been here for.]

But might as well have fun while one can, don't you think? Seems logical to me anyway.
