[Action]
[So people were turning into various cliche horror movie monsters. Once, Conan would have been determined to find the reason, to disprove the whole thing as a hoax and find the true culprit behind it.
But that had been before three years in that cursed castle and more than a year in Genessia. That was all it had taken for him to become accustomed to such nonsense. When the news of the changes came out, Conan had only sighed and checked the calendar. A few weeks to Halloween.
He'd start worrying if it lasted more than a week. Unless that happened he was determined to ignore the whole thing. If he was fortunate, he'd make it past the holiday without any of his acquaintances realizing that he had entirely avoided the humiliation of costumes and candy so far. Conan would be perfectly happy to completely ignore the entire holiday.
So he just goes about his days as normal. He sits through the tedium of a first grade school day, and spends most of the time ignoring the teacher. He stops and spends some time at the agency in Genessia City, and he spends some time at the library checking to see if there were any classic detective novels he hadn't read yet.]

Action
[While he is going through the library collection, a face suddenly phases through the shelves. Dairine pokes her head out, the books behind her only slightly obscured by her presence.]
Conaaaan...
[Her voice is far too whiny to be scary.]
Re: Action
What do you want?
Re: Action
How long are you gonna take? I've already picked out the books I'm getting.
Re: Action
I'm done.
Re: Action
Great. Let's check out already. We still gotta figure out what to do about dinner.
Re: Action
Re: Action
Pretty sure I'll be famished once I switch back though.
[After all, she's still been using spells. Mostly to get around the whole "can't touch stuff" thing.]
Re: Action
Re: Action
[She gives an annoyed huff.]
Guess I'll have to think of how I'm gonna go trick-or-treating this year.
Re: Action
Re: Action
Avoid? Trick-or-treating?
Are you insane? Who would want to do that?!
Re: Action
Re: Action
Excuse you? It's a chance to get free candy. Just for dressing up! And it's the fun kind of dressing up, not being stuck in fancy social event clothes.
How is that pointless?
Re: Action
Re: Action
I've seen all sorts of Halloween costumes. Which ones don't you like?
Re: Action
The ones adults think are cute on first graders. Which is all of them.
Re: Action
And how many people do you think want to poison you?
Wait, do I even want to know?
You could pick out something you like though! A favorite character, hobby, interest...
Re: Action
[He sighs.]
I'm not fond of sweet things to begin with. Seeing people die because of chocolate didn't really help.
Why would I want to? I already told you I'm not interested in this holiday.
Re: Action
Those people didn't bother trying to hide the poison, far as I understand.
Look, I get that you deal with a ton of death and crime on a daily basis. Guess it does makes sense that would rub off on little pleasures and make them less appealing.
But I'm still judging your tastes.
[Honestly, disliking sweet things... The horror.]
It would help you seem more child-like. You know, just in case.
And if you don't want your sweets, you can just give them to me.
Re: Action
Apart from Sonoko.
Re: Action
[Good job getting Conan to expand his horizons.]
Your uncle doesn't find it strange?
Action
You really think he's that observant? When we go out to eat anywhere he mostly looks for the beer.
Action
[Dairine's eyes narrow.]
Oh right. This is the same guy that lets a seven year old wander around crime scenes. What was I thinking.
[Her impression of this detective he lives with only gets worse with time.]
Re: Action
[Conan eyes her.]
What's with that look?
Re: Action
[Dairine would be more than happy to meet more people from Conan's world. Even the terrible ones. (So she could drop kick them.)]
Your uncle doesn't seem very responsible for an adult.
He is an adult, right?
Re: Action
He just isn't a very responsible one.
Re: Action
Then why call him Uncle?
