[Well, it started like a typical morning as Karla left her home to go to work. Except not really. She found it more difficult than usual to get out of her bed. The moment she stepped outside, the sun felt hot...more so than usual. So hot that her skin began to sizzle. Still, she had to get to her job...so she ran all the way to her Deputy Guardian's office, much faster than she ever had before. It was almost like running at a super speed. Once she reached her building, she let out another shriek as she opened the door and ran inside. By that point, her exposed skin was covered with burns...which seemed to be rapidly healing.]

What is happening...?

[A certain cyborg may have been in Genessia City this fine day... with a strange affliction of his own, but it's one he'd quickly adjusted to. And was enjoying immensely. He'd noticed Karla on her way to her office and followed her since she seemed to be in an awful big hurry... and once she was inside, if she glanced over her shoulder, she may see Gale hanging out upside-down at her doorway with only up to his shoulders visible. Those curled horns on his head sure seemed new though.]

Everything okay in here, dear? Kinda hard to miss that shriek you let out.

Um...

[She was slightly embarrassed, but still, something was very wrong. Her burns had fully healed by now, and she put her hand up to her mouth, then noticing something strange about her teeth. Two of them were unbelievably sharp...]

I don't know...when I went outside, the sun suddenly started burning me. So I ran all the way here...but now my skin has healed...?

[Gale put a hand to his chin and pondered to himself for a moment.]

Huh. Sounds like you got a bit of a textbook case of vampirism. My guess is that the world's gettin' into the spirit of the holiday.

[He dropped down and gave a flap of his wings to turn himself rightside up, hovering in his spot and crossing one leg over the other. Someone was enjoying his new look.]

I mean, you sure as hell aren't the only one who got a taste of the whole 'modification' thing, that's for damn sure.

I see...

[And here she thought Genessia was becoming too predictable, what with all these crazies arriving and claiming the world as their own. But this is a whole new brand of crazy.]

And...what happened to you?

[He puts a hand to his chin and glanced upwards in a pondering motion.]

Weeeell, if the fact that my dashing good looks are still intact only with the addition of horns and wings and the fact that I accidentally drained someone of their stamina earlier, Iiii would have a pretty good impression that I got the incubus treatment.

[Which he certainly thought was appropriate. He had to give Genessia points for that. ... though the whole 'sapping stamina from someone' thing actually was an accident. That's not how he wanted to take someone's stamina.]

I guess now's a good a time as any to make sure Monster Mash plays at After Life.

Incubus...? [She blinks.] What is that...?

[She's only vaguely familiar with vampires thanks to a few certain individuals here, but an incubus is a completely new one.]

[... oh man. Oh MAN. This was going to be good. He has to suppress a grin as he shrugs.]

Demons that invade the dreams of slumbering mortals. A female is a succubus and a male is an incubus. They typically drain the life of their victims through rather... lascivious means.

Needless to say, they nailed it on their monster choice for me for sure.

They sure did, didn't they?

[Karla can't help laughing herself. If nothing else, she's glad that Gale can still be himself, so to speak. She can't really say that about herself...]
