One Deputy Guardian, Still Here! [Video/Open]

[Time for an announcement! From what is obviously the junky old Sheriff's shack in Everglade where Harry Dresden makes his base of operations, you have Jaune. He looks a little ragged - and that's honestly because there could have been even more monster attacks had he not been working to try and stave them off. He's... not very good at it, but he's been pushing himself every day and hasn't been talking to... anyone for quite some time. He looks tired, even a little bruised... but given the state of the sheriff's shack, he's been sustained at least by a steady diet of pizza.]

Uh, hey, Genessia... [Jaune clears his throat and tries standing up straight.] I don't think many of you guys know me. My name's Jaune - Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue, ladies love it. Anyhoo... I got a second and thought I might let you know that I've been real busy trying to look after Everglade! It's not easy... You try "quelling water spirits" when you just have this.

[He holds up a sword so that it's visible in-frame. Indeed, aside from that and a shield and maybe a few magical trinkets hanging around in Harry's shop, he doesn't have much else.]

I heard that monsters are moving in on Everglade again, and... I guess I plan on doing something about that. So, uh... Sorry! No time for social calls, I guess. A guardian's work is never done!

[Ugh, how did Harry DO this?]

[Finally, someone who's rather pathetic actually trying instead of just rolling over and showing belly. Or using their new position for some unearned benefits. So Bridget actually likes Jaune even if he is so bad at flirting. That... is also adorable in its own way.]

Jaune, is it? I'm Bridget. I'll make it short since you seem a bit overwhelmed at the moment. At the moment I've been helping out over in Fayren but it looks like you could use the help more. I'm a lot older than you but I only work between an hour after sunset and an hour before sunrise. But during that time you can at least sleep without a single worry. That being said, I have a rather strong personality that doesn't work well with anyone who tries to boss me around.

[She pauses for a few long moments to let him mull that over if he needs to.]

Would you like a bit of help?

[Oh, wow, this lady is intense... and she knew it! She just... came at him with all kinds of information like it was some faux interview that he never asked to set up, and by the end of it Jaune is kind of bumbling with his syllables.]

U... Uh... So you've been helping out the Fairy Tale guild over in Fayren then? [Hold on, he'll catch up in just a second!]

[Sorry Jaune, Bridget does tend to get a bit carried away sometimes. She does notice the stammering a little and notes the way she's leaning towards the camera. She'll just settle back in her chair a bit and try to ease up a bit.]

Fairy Tail? Ah, so you know them. I've met them but I wouldn't really say we've been working much together. I'm sorry for info dumping on you so suddenly but I've been getting a little bored lately. I've been traveling all over the world for so long that watching over one town and a bit of countryside with several other groups doing the same thing that... Well, I'm not exactly needed there.

Oh, hey Juane. So this is where you work... (looks fun.)

You look busy. If you want, like... a secretary or something, I can probably handle that. (no field work preferred)

Karina? Ah, gee, I dunno... I mean, not that you'd be a bad secretary or anything, but there isn't exactly a lot of paperwork or appointments to be done around here.

If people REALLY have a problem, they seem pretty okay writing it down and sliding it under the door... either that or attach a note to a rock and chuck it through the window.

So is that what you've been doing all this time? Must be a seriously tough job.

Tough? Ah, nah, you guys could do this easy-peasy! It's not that tough, really!

You sure you just aren't underselling it? How bad is the problem getting anyway?

Problem? Nah it's no problem, you've got Jaune Arc on the case. [He gestures to himself with a bit of a grin.]

But, uh... Welllll, maybe it is a liiiiittle harder now that it's a solo operation. But hey, it's not like I mind asking for help once in a while. I'll be putting out messages for the big jobs and stuff.

I can come out there sometime and give you a hand if you want. I've got a bit of free time on my hands. [And nothing really better to do.]

Well, hey, that'd be great! You can totally kick a lot of butt, right?

Jaune Arc, Jaaaaaune Arc. [Minako is just playing with the name currently.] Oh, wow it really does roll off the tongue, doesn't it?

[Oh! A pretty girl! Well, Jaune does have time for that.]

It does, doesn't it? And what's your name?

I'm Minako Aino, future idol in the making. Hopefully.

Minako Aino, huh...? [Huh, why did that name sound familiar? It had a ring to it. It was Japanese, was what it was, just like Raye's name, but he couldn't make the connection.]

Well, nice to meet you. An idol, huh? You mean like a star?

[The nods.] That's right, a star in the making you are seeing before you.

[You'll figure out the connection son enough.]

Just remember my name and you can say you know me when I make it.

[So there are monsters here too. Well at least there is something she knows of at least, but she did note the poor guy looked like he could use the rest.]

It's nice to meet you Jaune. I'm Yuna. I'm sorry but I have to ask if your okay?

[Oh, hey, someone new! Better ask their name, he figures, it's good to know who's around. Then... she introduced herself. So polite!]

Yuna, huh? Are you new here? I haven't been checking my messages so if you made an announcement or something I must've missed it...

And am I okay? Ha~ [He grins!] Am I okay, she asks. I'm Jaune Arc, of course I'm okay! [He kind of poses confidently. No, he's not 'okay,' but he's... well he's okay enough to be Jaune at least.]

I guess you could say that. [She had been here little under a day or two, but new never the less. But she shook her head slightly for a moment.]

I haven't used this to announce myself to everyone yet. I'm... I guess I'm getting use to it first.

[She watched for a moment, he says he's okay but he doesn't look it. It could be her worrying too much, she didn't know.]

Well...If you say your okay, I guess I can believe you.

Of course you can believe me. I'm nothing if not honest! [That was probably the biggest lie he'd ever told, ironically.]

But thanks for asking. Don't worry, I'll ask for help when I need it. I'm a guardian, sure, but I'm not an idiot. I'll know when I'm over my head.

A guardian?! [She knew that word, but she wondered if it mean the same thing is not similar.]

Does that mean your protecting something? Like a person?

[ Ladies don't love it as much as you think Jaune. Weiss is giving a bit of a judging look before her actual question comes to the tip of her tongue. ]

Wait, you're a guardian, Jaune?

[Oh, his Snow Angel! Though, of course, she doesn't like that name and isn't afraid to let him know it, so he opts not to go with it... for now.]

Oh, you didn't know? Yeah I was kinda training under the last Guardian of Everglade, and... well... he's gone now. [He made a gesture with his hands that clearly indicated a 'poof.' Just like that, Harry Dresden seemed to disappear from the face of Genessia. It was... alarming, to say the least.]

So do you actually have the position or are you just Acting Guardian until they hire someone else?

[ Weiss is a little bit unsure if Jaune really fits the bill for that position or not.. of course, she apparently had amnesia so maybe she didn't remember him becoming really good at something. That was a possibility. ]

Actually? Ah, heh... well, uh... [Well now he doesn't know what answer to give. Should he just say he is? Or just that he's acting guardian?]

I... I could do it! I'm sure I could! I'm just, uh, considering! So... I'm just a temp right now I guess, but that could change!

So you aren't really the city guardian.

Uhmmm. ...You know you could just ask for help if you need it?

Hey, I've been doing just fine! Harry always said that being Guardian was hard work, so it's not crazy that it actually is hard, right?

[He made it look so easy though!]

I'll ask for help, for sure! I'm just... seeing how things go!

Well yeah, I don't think it's a big stretch that it's actually hard.

But you don't have to do it alone either, you've got a bunch of friends who are willing to pitch in and do their part if it gets to be a bit hectic for you. That's all I was saying.

Heheh... Yeah, yeah, I know. Thanks Ruby! Yeah, don't worry, if something really big goes down I'll just... go to the fifteen year old girl for help...

...Uhmmm? What was that? You kind of started mumbling there.

I've noticed that as well, I've been thinning their numbers every so often myself.

Wow, thanks professor Ozpin! But haven't you been busy looking after Nova City?

[If they're evil, she might be able to do something about that. Maybe. Fire doesn't exactly do well against water, but she'd rather not see Jaune get beat up any more than necessary.]

Maybe you should see about hiring another assistant. Has anyone offered yet?

A couple people actually have been offering. And it seems like I can always ask Ruby or Sun for help any time, and there's this lady that seems like she wants to take the night-shift...

And yeah, water spirits. They were a bit ticked that people were using their river as a garbage disposal, so I had to sort that out... Yeesh, right?

Yeah, no kidding.

[Raye's not cut out for diplomacy, she probably would have wound up yelling at everyone. Jaune's much better at mediating, in her opinion.]

No, yeah, sure! But I'll try not to bug you too much. You're pretty busy at the temple now, and you're... the spokesgirl for the spirits now, right? Sounds like a bit of work.

Come on, you're my boyfriend! You're allowed to bug me sometimes.

It's not that bad. I used to take care of my grandpa's shrine back home, and it was a lot bigger than this one. And I guess I don't really have to look after this one. It's just kind of nice to be doing something I'm used to.
